    Don't bother. These things are useless. Bought one for Christmas for my son and it's nigh on impossible to get it to float.

      Looks quite easy to make it float in the video clip quoted by outlander above, even though he rotated the earth in the wrong direction. Here's another video — note the use of the foam stick.
