Yay. More free games and no time to play. Just started up Unreal Gold from last promo 😂

  • Thanks for posting.

Anybody have an idea what is going on with all the free games everywhere? And some of them are pretty high calibre, not the typical $0.99 game.
Or is it just healthy competition, attracting people to their store so if HB has a free game, Steam must have one, too for fear of losing custoomers?
I am not complaining but I am a bit suspicious that this could be a last hurrah before they all tighten the reins.

IGN bought Humble Bundle. They're probably leveraging all their connections right now to boost their profile and hope for some fast subscriber growth.

Meanwhile, everyone else wants to get into the action, so there are deals everywhere.

Boosting dead games.. common tactic especially with dying communities.

These games have to now compete with new titles with better graphics, mechanics, concepts, technologies etc now being released nearly everyday.

Making your game is just the first step now, getting that mass audience that most game devs want is now the hardest part with every Joe Blow and their kid playing pubg or league of legends these days.

These communities probably realise they aren't going to be making much more by themselves so they need to fish a bit more and the free games is the bait.

Note: Gun Icarus Online is the original PvP game but Alliance is the PvEvP version that has more fixes and updates from what I gathered.
