FREESHIP

Seeking to run out the very last of this terrific Limestone Coast Montepulciano from award-winning, Halliday 5 Red Star, small family vigneron, Geoff Hardy.

Normally, $360/dozen, it is yours for $119.20/dozen (inc 20% discount) and with free shipping across Australia.

Story: Montepulciano is likely to have originated in Tuscany and is now widely planted throughout central and southern Italy. It’s one of the dominant grape varieties in the Abruzzo region in central / eastern Italy and produces medium-bodied wines that are deep in colour with rich tannins and savoury flavours.

Nose: The Hand Crafted Montepulciano exhibits aromas of blackberries, plums and black cherries, followed by hints of chocolate.

Palate: The palate offers black cherries, boysenberries and plums, which is complemented by great acidity.

Pairing: This wine goes really well with Italian style lamb with a herbed couscous.

Cellaring: Drink now or to 2026

94pts from both Wine Orbit and Wine Showcase Magazine.

  • not enough quantity to be posted mate.

    • Thanks Jamesx - Your understanding of the rules is clearly better than mine! Thanks for the heads up RD :-)

  • Yikes - got the old bait and switch on this one.

Money taken out 11th, dispatch notice 13th - call today blaming the system and saying no stock (yet I see stock on the site).

Then trying to upsell me to a more expensive case.

    Unimpressed.

    • Hi @Miso
I am sorry to hear of your experience. As a regular buyer and poster, I would hope you know us better than that. That's not how we operate - our core values are 'honesty and integrity in all we do'.
Explanation: Yes, there are limitations around the system we have. Yes, we are moving to a new website very shortly. Yes, it was mistakenly continued to be sold at Cellar Door on the long weekend and, therefore, yes, the montepulciano did oversell by about four cases.
The error came to light in the warehouse after the time at which orders had begun to be processed, hence the delay in communicating the same to you.
Yes, we are happy to refund you, or offer a case of another wine at the same value or happy for you to trade up or down.
Yes, it was a failing on our part and we sought to rectify it as best we could.
I am, of course, sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused you but for you to suggest that it was cynically deliberate is wholly inaccurate and offensive to me.
If you wish to discuss it personally with me my number is 0433 166 181 or you can email me at [email protected]
      Regards

      • If you had offered me something else at the same price would have been more understanding. Shit happens.

But trying to get me to buy another case a higher price point was poor form and has pissed me off.

        • Feel free to call me if you wish to continue the discussion. No need for the foul language which is offensive. 0433 166 181.
Happy to walk you through what happened fully. The purpose of the call was to offer all alternatives and the offer of any of the alternate reds from the Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy range still stands as does a full refund which I am assuming has been given.
          Best regards
          Richard
