  • Can I use my kogan acc in which I bought a mobile voucher before to buy for my missus who will be using the service? Is the voucher tied to the email or the new sim?

    • Voucher is not tied to anything.

  • Thanks OP!! This should go well with the 365 day voucher after the 30 days expires.

  • Do you have to buy the SIM card separately??! It used to be included with the voucher before, now it is asking for $2 for the sim.

    Am I doing this right?

    • +1

      "Free SIM card included" is noted in the first line of the deal description.

      • Apologies, thanks for bringing this to my notice.

  • Done. Thanks op!

  • does kogan support wifi-calling as I have shit Vodafone coverage and Optus isnt much better (Telstra is almost tollerable but I use wifi calling with them too so I have a working phone at home)

  • Keen to get this for my iPad - when does the 23Gb data expire?

    EDIT: lol just noticed 30 days sorry!

  • Paid 4.90 for this recently. Arrrgh

  • Anyone know how quickly these SIMs are sent? No info I can see on order or emails for SIM dispatch…

    • My sim got shipped yesterday, received email advising this at 9pm

    • Takes about 2 weeks from experience (metro Sydney).

  • If I port my number to Kogan, is it active immediately?

    • If porting from non-Vodafone network, usually yes. If from Vodafone network may run into trouble

  • What network will it be?

    • Kogan is on the Vodafone Network

      • Thanks, mate.

  • Reckon $60 off $250 Kogan gift voucher might turn up and help achieve the magic $1per GB ratio, on higher tier annual plans?

    My SIM has been dispatched, but no sign of the voucher code. It's usually in an email the subject "Your Kogan Mobile voucher for order number", but no sign of it so far. Has anyone else received theirs yet?

    Edit: Disregard! It was in gmail's spam folder. Sorry!

  • Perfect timing. I'm thinking of switching to kogan and wanting to check with the community if my plan will work.
    1) Create new account using referral. Buy 0.99 prepaid voucher;
    2) Buy kogan 20 off 100 or similar voucher from OzB if available;
    3) Buy $100 kogan gc from woolies for $95 using egift;
    4) Buy 365d kogan plan using $100 gc and 20 off voucher (obtaining $10 referral);
    5) Apply 365d plan once 30d plan expires.

    Thoughts? Anyone else tried something similar?

    • Yeah that will work. But you should be able to use a $30 voucher with the referral credit for $40 off in total. Also use 2x $100 gcs too for even more discount.

        awesome, thanks for the confirmation!

        • It will work, don't forget to add in your frequent flyer number in before you purchase!

    (profanity), I was charged $14.99 when I activated the sim. I spoke to Kogan Mobile and was told I need to enter a 10 digit voucher code during activation to take advantage of the deal but I wasn't sent one in the email. Now waiting for Kogan to fix it.

    EDIT: just read nickj's comment. Yes, just found the voucher code in the spam. (profanity)!

  • Got mine today.

  • I am unable to checkout!

    • Same here. I was trying to buy via PayPal.

      • Its working fine now

  • Bought one to use as a hot-spot, but it won't let me. Is this in the terms and c's? I didn't see it there!

    Edit: just had to adjust the APN settings, all good :)

  • the voucher code I received in email says it is invalid when I try to add. Kogan Help Chat says I need to call customer service, which I did. I tried talking to call center from india for 10 minutes, then gave up.

  • Bought this on 13 of June, received it the sim yesterday on 20 June. Try to activate it today 21 June, the price is $49 now during activation. I guess I missed the deal already. What the heck.

      You should have received a voucher code by email, use that voucher code during sign up, check the email that you used to purchase this.

      • I did as what you mentioned. And halt after seeing the Price - $49. And asking me to confirm my agreement to those points, of course I am not agree to process and wonder why $49 is there.

    • The sim is NOT linked to the deal.
      You need to use the voucher code which was sent to you via email as chadiwrx said.
      Where it says select a plan, there's a place to shove your voucher code in.

      • Yes, I got the code in the email, and the voucher promotion column stating 99C Offer XL 30Day, but the price column stated $49, discount price$0.00. This info is on the account activation page just before I need to key in the credit card info to proceed the sim activation. I stop there and thinking may be the voucher is not valid anymore after 20 of June. Not sure anyone face the same thing.

          Just activated my sim and wasn't charged, the discount price is $0.00 so no charge to your credit card. Voucher is valid till 20/07/18

        • @adr8:

          Ahh, I see. The discount price is the actual price will be charge. Also I mess up with the month, thought now is 21 July. Thanks for the confirmation!

        • I stop there and thinking may be the voucher is not valid anymore after 20 of June. Not sure anyone face the same thing.

          It is valid, the credit card is to put a $1 authorization charge.
          As long as the code is accepted it is fine.
          If it's not accepted, it will have red text when you put the code in.

    I just tried to port from Lebara to Kogan, and I was with Kogan the month prior to Lebara. The system picked up on that, because during the activation online it said "invalid voucher code" when I entered it.

    I rang Kogan Mobile and surprisingly someone picked up the phone immediately. He could see everything I had already entered online and said "The reason your voucher code is showing as invalid is because the system has detected that you are porting in and out of Kogan Mobile on a regular basis, I would request that you don't do that, however I will activate your service now."

    He read me the T&C and said "ok it's all done". The only info I had to give him was the 10 digit SIM card number, the voucher code and my name. Everything else was already on his screen that I'd entered until the point where it said "invalid voucher code".

    The guy then went on to say that the number port WOULD NOT HAPPEN TODAY, even though I told him porting is available on Saturdays. Anyway, after hanging up from the call literally within 1 minute my Lebara signal dropped off, so I put the Kogan SIM in and it was working within 3-4 minutes.

    tl;dr, I think their system knows if you've ported out and try to port back in within a 30 day period (I'd be on about day 28 today) and then tells you your voucher code isn't valid.

    Even with the above minor inconvenience, 99c is still a personal best for 23GB and a month's mobile service.

    • Hrm It appears I have the same issue even though I entered it on day 31? Just rang and apparently I've locked the sim/voucher code from trying too many times lol now I have to wait 24-72 hours. If you get this message, DO NOT try it again, just ring them up to try and do it over the phone or you have to wait like me….super frustrating!

  • If anyone has leftover codes and aren't using it. I'll be interested.

  • Just got a message 'Porting request unsuccessful - please contact us'.

    Will I lose the value in my voucher now (call centre closed until Saturday)?

    The number I tried to port in is a Vodafone prepaid - could that be the problem?
