Bing Lee Lies To Win My Business And Then Can't Deliver!

Beware of this company. They blatantly lied to me to win my business from Whitfords who had the fridge I wanted selling for $150 less but they didn't have it in stock.

On calling their hotline and being told they had stock available I placed an order with them for the more expensive price as their price matching policy didnt extend to matching whitfords and I cancelled the other order. I was told stock would be transferred from their Sydney warehouse to their Melbourne warehouse and the id recieve a call to settle the balance and arrange a delivery date.

A week passes, no call and I know that it takes a day or two only to send a fridge between our capital cities and so I called for a status update. It was this call that I was told that the fridge was in transit but when I dug a little deeper asking where the fridge was presently located and what day it was due to arrive in Melbourne the reply was a shocking vacant "I can't actually tell you because I don't know" but he did tell me that it wasn't actually being transferred from the Sydney warehouse but was being sent from F&P which immediately rang alarm bells cause I new F&P wouldn't have stock till mid July. I raised this concern and was assured that the stock was already allocated and physically in transit to Melb and due any day. I was reminded of their T&C stating that it could take up to 10 days and so after giving me assurance that it would be there within that time frame I thanked them and hung up.

Well you already know how this ends because I wouldn't be writing a public post had they not lied to me because today when I called because I still hadn't heard from them I was told that they were sorry but the fridge was on back order with F&P and not due until mid July! And do you think the manager was around to handle an escalation? Of course not, but he'll be hearing from one very irate and incredibly angry Bing Lee ex-customer in the morning. Lets hope he can pull a rabbit out of his hat cause so far each employee I spoke to at Bing Lee has pulled nothing but manufactured lies out of their a%#&s and fed it to me to win my business at a higher cost to what I originally had locked in with Whitfords and ultimalty a delivery date that was later than the estimate given to me by their competitor. What a bunch of unprofessional and low life a##&$%les!

    Unbelievable

  • If nothing else, next time I'm shopping for a fridge I'll think "Whitfords" instead of Bing Lee.

    they're owned by chinese communists

Well no - if they were communists they'd own the means of production themselves and wouldn't have to backorder from F&P. Presumably.

The Lee family are third generation Australians.

  • Can you cancel order and just go back to Whitfords. You should still get the $150 discount you originally were going to get it for at that shop. Given you have to wait.

Alternatively tell BL that unless they give you $150 discount you will go elsewhere as they have not forfilled their obligation in the promised time. Speak to manager.

I don't understand how this situation occured, you had an order $150 cheaper than bing lee, but you cancelled that, and went with bing lee for $150 extra because they did supposedly have stock, so why did you make that order if Whitfords had no stock? In the end you made that decision, sure bing lee misled you, but why did you do that, it makes no sense. I always give my business to those that have stock, dont make promises, cause if they have stock they dont need to make promises, and are cheaper. Luckily this lesson didn't really cost you anything, go back to the previous place and buy it from them when they do have stock.

    • Exactly… OP cancelled so he could pay an extra $150! Very smart! (I had to read the post twice to make sure I was reading it correctly!) lol

      • I think he means he was prepared to pay an extra $150 as he wanted the fridge asap rather than wait until mid July. Bing Ling said they had stock to win his business even though they never did.

I’ve used Bing Lee numerous times and have always been one of the best stores to deal with. Everyone has good and bad experiences, yours is probably the minority in the latter.
