Struggling to Decide between LG 29UM69G-B or ViewSonic VA2719-2K Monitor?

Hello, struggling to decide between these 2 monitors both priced around $300.

While the LG is a larger 29” widescreen for gaming, looks much better, has built-in speakers and better 1ms, it’s only 1080p while the Viewsonic is 1440p and has more height but 5ms. Both appear to be 75 Hz IPS panels. I don’t think my ageing GTX Titan is going to play new games at 1440p on max settings anyway so they might end up being set at 1080p anyway. How to choose? Or is there a better option at that price point?

  LG 34UM69G … lowest was around $330 here

  you won't see pixels at gaming

  34" 21:9 .. will change your gaming exp. dramatically even at 2560x1080

    I have read quite a few comments on here that say the 34" version at 1080p has very low PPI that would ruin the experience?

  Buy both 2nd hand and try them. Sell the one you don't like with little loss.

      Why not? I do this all the time. I buy one 2nd hand at a lower price. And if I don't like it, then I sell it and buy the other option. I make no loss, and sometimes even a profit. The only issue is effort and time spent, which is totally fine with me.

  For anyone curious, I have decided to splash out a bit more and go with the ASUS MX27AQ. $599 on most sites online but $569 on eBay with additional 10% off code making it a decent $512 with free delivery. Sorted.
