I think its a price error but its well worth buying it.
I think Woolies will honour it.

Not a big fan for the double blacks but for this price I ain't going to refuse.
Bought 2 packs and buying probably another 2 now.

Need to be logged into Woolies to see the special.

  • For anyone in the know, what would the tax component of this 30 pack be? Is it taxed at the same excise rate as regular spirits? I'm interested if Woolworths would be selling at a loss by honouring, or if there is a just a huge artificial mark up on RTDs/Premix.

      • @alvian It's more than that actually, I ended up finding the info I was looking for. See here. $83.84/L of Alcohol for Spirits less than 10%.

          It's per litre of pure alcohol, there's about 730ml of pure alcohol in 30 cans (375ml306.5%).

          $61.31 to be exact.

    Just got back from the store. After cancelling the online orders, someone from head office is phoning all BWS stores asking them not to honour the deal.

    • I just found this on their website. Seems this is their get out of jail free card.

  • Ok, it was a pricing error, and they refunded it. Not my ideal solution, but I can accept it, grudgingly.

    However, I paid $34 by PayPal, and $10 in Woolies Rewards. They’ve refunded the $34, but for the Woolies Rewards part…

    It’s bloody cheeky to have a minimum spend which is MORE than the original item price.

  • I was able to get a pretty good deal at the store I went to. I met a fellow ozbargainer at the counter who had ordered 3. He kept saying to the staff that we had just met. I told them that we had known each other for 11 years and had met at uni :) He was very persistent and we got the deal because of him. All the staff and the manager were great. Thanks and cheers to everyone involved.

    Once again the negative votes are in full force… it was a genuine mistake, I took a chance and it didn’t work, it did for some so it was still a bargain. My positive vote remains.

    And for the people complaining about Woolworths holding your money for a few days, if you can’t survive with that money being held, then should you be buying alcohol? They are not holding that money on purpose, because all the free cases of Smirnoff ice they gave away would outweigh any interest on your money.

  • They have refunded as a credit to my account which I can use only for online purchases, shouldn't they be refunding back to the gift card?

      Come on lol, we all knew it was a pricing error and the OP noted that from the start. It was a luck game to actually receive the order.

      Of course they can cancel your order if it's covered in their T&C's.

    Is anyone else still waiting for their refund via Paypal?? - mine says it is still pending!!!!

    I emailed Brad Banducci and got the following trite response:

    Dear Sainter Dad

    Thank you for taking the time to write to Brad relating to your online purchase on Saturday 7th July, he has asked that I respond on his behalf.

    I sincerely apologise on behalf of Woolworths for our need to cancel your order and the inconvenience this has caused you. Unfortunately we experienced a technical issue with our website which resulted with incorrect information being displayed. Please be reassured this rarely occurs and preventative steps have been taken to ensure that we minimise the likelihood of reocurrence.

    Please beware that when customers enter an agreement with Woolworths Online they accept our terms and conditions which are posted clearly on our website, https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Discover/about-us/terms-a…. Our terms and conditions clearly state in point 14, that we are able to cancel orders on the rare occasion there is an error in the price or product description:

    1. Cancelling an Order
      14.1. We may cancel any Order or part of an Order (including any Orders that we have accepted) without any liability to you for that cancellation at any time if:
      (a) the requested Products in that Order are not available; or

    • Placed two orders. Both cancelled. One has been refunded, the other Woolworths have just said "Should be there and is maybe just still transferring between the banks" - 6 days after the first refund. They've asked me to wait a couple more days and say they have a record now of my first contact about this so we will see what happens. Bit of a stuff around though, how hard is it refund an order made on 07/07 by 16/07?
