I don't think you can link Xtreme v1 with the flip, but check me on this. I think you need 2 of the same model.
The Flip4 uses their newer JBL Connect+, whilst the Xtreme v1 uses the older JBL Connect (no +).
JBL products that use Connect+ can connect to multiple speakers at the same time - up to 100, where as JBL Connect only allowed like 2x devices I think.
Connect+ and Connect do NOT work together, so be careful which devices you purchase.
Great portable speaker. I bought this with a good guys price match for 187, so I think this is close to the lowest price ever.

PS I haven't compared it with many other speakers, except the Marley, and there it certainly can hold its own.

Might not be the most accurate sound reproduction speaker for audiophiles. But as others have mentioned it is unmatched re size and powerful booming bass.
