If I redeem the Groupon voucher now but I want the porting and SIM activation takes place a week later, is it possible? I am worried that the porting will take place right after I redeem the voucher.
I think it is possible. After buying the voucher I activate the SIM with porting number( Last Night). Just I got confirmation email my new SIM is coming with porting number.
Porting will not take place when you order. You will have to activate and start the porting when the sim arrives.
If you forgot to cancel the service or just cancel renewals plan. the system auto change your plan to AS YOU GO and charge you a very expensive for data. i had been charged about $150 for 1gb. careful guys.
You can log in to your account and change the payment method to bpay, that way they can't charge for any extras.

Does it mention groupon or the groupon account that purchased it?

I don't know what I did but after I bought the voucher from Groupon while redeeming I got.charged another $10 so total I got charged for $14.97. anybody knows what I did wrong or had similar situation? I want to know what I paid for .
Looks like they charged you $10 for first month and sim. Get in touch with amaysim they should be able to refund you.
I don't know how you end up with that and I am also interested in knowing why. I went through the process and got $0 .

I was a sucker who bought one of these from groupon last year for $29…without using cashback, or waiting for a groupon voucher (rookie move, I know).
I always ran out of data halfway through the month, and adding a data pack isn't that cheap (nor is it that simple). If they still have free international calls to selected countries - then it would be darn handy to have if you have a dual sim handset.

I never got the SIM card in the mail so I went to woolies and bought a $2 SIM today. When I tried to use the code I'm getting an invalid message "Sorry, looks like the promo code you’ve entered isn't valid. Please check the code and try again."

Yes I got the groupon code before then but I had till the end of the month to redeem the code on amaysim website.
I actually forgot to use the code before 23rd, but tried on 27th & it still worked. Received my sim in the mail 4 days later & activated.

I activated last night, checked apn and everything, notification bar says amaysim but I get no data and my account says 0 megabytes available. account looks in order and it said number successfully ported, from Vodafone. Any idea what the problem might be?

Responding to say it was all sorted this morning when I rang the actual Australian support number.. 02 83072473 Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and 10-6 sat amaysim porting team..
Online chat was useless but the phone call got things all shipshape straight away (and still including the Groupon deal)
