How to go about selling Qantas/Velocity points?

Hey everyone.

I have a large sum of qantas and velocity points (about 500k for each) I would like to sell if its easy and secure doing so. From what I understand, they have a value of 1.2c per point.

Is it possible to sell this sum of points to a single person, cause as far as I’m aware there’s a limit of 100k points you can transfer to someone per year with velocity, and I imagine qantas has a similar cap on transferring points.
Also, is there a secure way of selling points for peace of mind for the buyer and seller?
Any info is much appreciated.

      What bdl is alluding to is that it is against the T&C of both Qantas and Virgin to 'sell, barter, attempt to transfer or otherwise deal' points.

      There are official methods to transfer points between family members or you can book an award ticket for someone else.

      If you do go against the rules and transfer the points you would have to falsely nominate the beneficiary as a family member. If the airline catches on, they will delete your points, suspend your account, suspend the beneficiary, delete their points and void the ticket.

        The terms say one thing but OzB has previously demonstrated a rather easy market for selling points.

        I’m aware of the T&C, but there’s clearly other methods one can use to sell points

    OP there is one member who spesicalising in buying those points. just wait he will most likely notice this thread and contact you. from all the reviews, he seems legit.

    With such a large amount of points the easiest way is for you to help someone book the flights. There is an OzBargain member who runs a commercial interest who I'm sure will take any and all points off your hands. List your points in the classified section and you will get plenty of offers to buy

    Have you flown business or first class with your points before? That's probably the most value you can extract from your points but certainly some people like cash more!

      Yes I have AusGP. I am fully aware of redeeming points for J and F award seats. In fact I recently flew the new suites in SingaporeAir several months ago.
      But the ‘issue’ I have is I have more points than what I can redeem lol. I actually have about 2 million points combined, so reallly I’m considering selling off roughly half of them…

          Been collecting for 3 years, but through cc sign on offers mainly, which include my parents and partner also, so really I can collect them at 4 times the regular rate 😃
          Also I get quite a few AMEX points through their generous referral offer.
