Pricematch with The Good Guys and use a 8% off gift card = $91.08.

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cygnett-20000-mah-chargeup-pr…
    https://www.unionshopper.com.au/supplier/digegifts/

Or buy it for $169 at the GG and then use their 120% price beat policy to claim the difference + an extra $14 back = $85. Arguably less useful though as claims <$100 are given only as store credit.

Also available at Harvey Norman, and if you use a 7.5% off gift card (same site) = $91.58. Handy if you have an existing gift card, store credit etc.

      • You got the difference as an efptos card?? That's awesome. Their policy states <$100 = store credit.

        • +1

When giving the option for store credit or eftpos card, it stated minimum $50 for eftpos card.

        • +1

          Did the same, good deal.

I received an email saying my claim was successful about 5 minutes after I filled in the form on a Sunday.

    • USB PD?

    • Does Xiaomi support USB-C PD? I’m keen to get something to charge my Switch.

      • +1

If you could get hold of their ZMI series

        • Had a 20,000 Mah ZMI but lost it. Really sucks and they no longer sell teh 20,000 Mah version :(

      • I've been using the 20000mAh Xiaomi mi2 on my switch, charges while playing no problems, I think it was around $27 delivered in a past due. Spent around 8 hours playing on a recent flight, still had over half left.

        • It also depends on the game you play on the Nintendo Switch. If you're playing resource intensive game (ie. Zelda BOTW), then the battery will drain much faster then it can charge with a standard Power Bank.

Also since you're on a flight, I'm assuming you're playing in Airplane mode, which should extend the battery life (turns off wireless connectivity, wifi, etc).

        • @RichardL: may be a different scenario but when I played Zelda when the battery was at 100% and plugged into a Xiaomi power bank, the battery percentage didn't drop at all. Only played for 30mins to test it out though.

        • @RichardL: If you're on a flight, you should able to charge via IFE's USB port..

        • @RichardL:

Not true at all. I’ve used multiple run of the mill power banks with my regular USB to USB-C cable and it has charged upwards all the time, albeit a bit slowly when playing games like Zelda.

      • They did have ZMI QB820 20000mah, which at cheapest was $50. But it's been discontinued.

    • +5

No, you can't. Xiaomi doesn't even sell a USB-PD capable powerbank of this capacity anymore.

      • Can confirm. The 20000mah has been replaced by the 15000mah.

    • +1

Good luck finding one these days

  • +2

I have one of these. Works great with phone and Switch.

    • Will it power a Swich in docked mode?

      • It should, since the Power Bank outputs 45W through USB-C PD.

Don't have the Power Bank to confirm though.

        • Nice. I spent $100 already on a 2100+ Anker with the old usb C to charge my MacBook. I wish I waited a few years for this one.

  • +1

I'm guessing this isn't enough to charge a Dell xps15?

    • +1

Won't be enough to charge the Dell XPS 15. As far as I'm aware, the only Power Bank capable of charging the Dell XPS 15, is the official Dell Power Bank, due to prioritary technology in them.

      • +3

It does however work with an XPS 13. I have one and this power bank.

        • That is true. The Dell XPS 13 requires less W to charge.

      • -3

There's nothing proprietary about them. They use the same ports as any, except the built in C cable.

They just support a wider range of voltages. I managed to snag one for almost free (normally $214), but I'm not going to retell that story at this time.

  • +1

Awesome power bank. I love mine - perfect for charging the Switch at full speed while playing.

  • +1

The specs on this look great for the Switch! - 45W USB C. Seems very similar to the Xiaomi one that Banggood did a limited deal on. I'd buy this if I hadn't just bought a RavPower one. :( This would have been better.
This should charge the Switch even when docked, if you had the need.

  • Is this a discounted price or the regular price listed?

    • +2

The RRP for this power bank is $149.95, but are usually found on OzBargain for ~$100.

  • Highly recommended, and i really like the thin profile, so it fits nicely in backpacks.

  • +1

Can confirm these are USB-C PD. It basically the only USB-C PD power bank that's available from an Australian Retail store.

  • Can anyone can confirm if this supports pass through? Can I charge it and use it to charge my laptop simultaneously?

    • Well seeing as it only has one USB-C port for input and output, I'd say no?

      • It also has 2x USB-A Ports, so assume you could use those as output (won't do USB-C PD though).

But can't confirm that this Power Bank does Pass Through Charging though.

    • Afaik it doesnt do pass through. The ZMI 20K does if you can find one.

  • So if this will charge a Macbook pro it would easily charge the Macbook 12"?

    • +1

Yes it will be able to charge the Macbook 12".

Since the Macbook 12" only requires a 30W, this Power Bank (45W) is more then sufficient to charge it.

      • Thanks. Thought so but long day and brain not working that gooda. :)

    • Easily. Even though I knew it wouldn't be suitable, I tried it out with MBP 15" 2016 and it sustained the battery life a decent amount when doing light tasks, so it'd be handy on a flight.

  • I always prefer the Li-Ion packs compared to the Li-Po packs, they just seem to be more resilient to premature death. Anyone have any similar findings?

    • +1

I believe Anker Power Bank still uses Li-ion batteries (18650) inside.

Most manufacture has moved over to Li-Po as it allows them to make smaller form factor power bank (and probarly cheaper to produce)

  • Can you travel with these? (Are they allowed on planes)

      • Absolute rubbish.
Yes, you can travel with this. I have multiple times. Needs to be in your carry on luggage though.

    • +3

The requirements for bringing a Power Bank on planes are:

      • They need to be stored in your carry-on baggage
      • They must not exceed 100Wh (Watt Hours)

      To calculate Wh:

      • (mAh)/1000 x (V) = (Wh)

      This Power Bank

      • (20000mAh)/1000 x (3.7V) = 74Wh

Therefore you should be able to travel on plane with this Power Bank, as long as you keep it in your carry-on baggage.

  • Will this charge the 2017 MacBook Pro 13"?

    • +1

This Power Bank will charge the 2017 Macbook Pro 13" but not efficiently.

The Power Adapter that comes with the 2017 Macbook Pro 13" is 61W, whereas the maximum of this Power Bank is 45W.

It’s $89 @ smoothsales soprice beat $89 at office works

    • where is it in the officeworks catalogue? cos i can't find it

    • +1

      Officeworks don't stock this

  • I bought one for $169 back in Dec 2017. It's an awesome power bank.

    • @Davoski, is it still going stronger?

      • +1

It's still going as strong as day one. Though I know physics will disagree with me given that all things are meant to decay over time. But it's still working without fault so far.

  • +1

I picked one up from The Good Guys, Bayswater, VIC. I've been looking for something to spend my $20 store credit. (I received it from the Mother's Day - Google Mini deal).

I went to the Nunawading, VIC store last night and while they have units in stock in their inventory. They couldn't find any physical stock.

It's got a bit of heft to it…

  • +1

I can vouch for this power bank being excellent for Nintendo Switch use since it supplies the full 45W. I think you could get up to 12 hours if you wanted.

  • Thanks grabbed one, works well but be warned it weighs a fair bit

  • Thanks for posting. I've been looking, but not sure how I missed this :)
What USB-C cable deals are you referring to? I would need to buy such a cable to be able to use this product, so can you link to any current deals? (I don't find anything in the search.)

  • How would this powerbank compare to the Laser Power Bank 20000mAh with Power Delivery 4x USB 1x USB-C PD PB-UC20K-WHT, $99.95 from Catch: https://www.catch.com.au/product/laser-power-bank-20000mah-w…
It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, so would end up being cheaper.
    Thanks :)
