Does EB Games Accept Imported Games for Trade in?

I got a bunch of games imported from Europe and I'm thinking of tradining in for store credit at EBGames and was wondering if anyone had experiences that they were able to trade in games not from Australia?

Assuming these are PAL region games and not NTSC? Can they be played on local consoles? If so, they might take them but I've had mixed results (only tried with Xbox 360 games though). I have been refused because the barcode wouldn't scan as games from different regions have different barcodes and they've claimed that they can't put it through.

I think it depends on game and store, I saw an imported copy at EB Games yesterday with an Australian classification sticker covering the PEGI classifcation.

  • PAL games with English cover is generally acceptable but it depends on the person serving. A lot of guys are easygoing but there are some nerds who think they know more than you and refuse to let you trade.

    • Unless the game is an international export that has no english at all, should be fine. What do you mean by this statement? "there are some nerds who think they know more than you", is there an example you can provide?

  • May be worth having a look in the second game pile before hand.

IIRC I’ve even seen NTSC copies in store before. If you do and they still argue, just say you bought them second hand from EB.

  • I have never had a problem with mine, the only issue is that they tend to dock $1 off the price for an imported game to cover the cost of slapping a classification sticker on it
