FAQs

Can I buy more than one of these SIM's?

You can stack up to 24 months of Lebara recharges. We recommend you buy this SIM pack plus up to three 180 day vouchers. Remember if you are on an existing Medium or Large plan, you can stack further but only up to 24 months maximum.

What about my existing plan?

If you are on any 30 Day Plan, your current plan will still be active until its expiry.

What Happens Next?

Once you make your purchase, we will send you an email with your new recharge PIN/s. Recharge is the same as always, i.e. sending an SMS to 126 172, logging in to My Lebara, or by calling us on 126 123.

Promotion Terms:Limit four per household. For personal use only. Special price applies to first use, subsequent recharges at current rates. SIMs must be activated within 60 days of purchase. No SIM swaps or credit transfer. No refunds. No shipment to PO box. Offers subject to change and may be withdrawn or extended. Not transferrable and not redeemable for cash.

Edit:
I called customer service just to check - if you are already on the Medium Plan for long term and stack with this, you'll be waiting to go through what you already have lined up to and then get to the 7GB.
eg. I joined earlier this March with 2 x 180 days voucher, add this voucher, I'll have to wait until next March for the 7GB kick in.

Edit 2:
I believe it was bonus data, but it's a permanent change so I erased that bit. Sorry for causing all this confusion, I should have just waited for a rep to make the post. orz

      hi
I just called them, the 7Gb only starts when the new plan kicks in and remains for that period ie 365 days

      • Thanks jeffr. I chatted with them. I will still get the 7GB per month for the 360 day period even when this plan kicks in, in August 2019 (as long as I activate it before 60 days from purchase or 30 Nov)

  • Hi Thanks Op
I also called them. Every month 7Gb for this plan.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Ordered, and they've already emailed me the voucher code.

Hopefully the network is similar as Kogan's, as they both use Vodafone.

At first, I was a bit worried that Lebara would be crap but found them very reliable within Melbourne inner city. Their plan is very competitive compared to Kogan in term of data and calls but Kogan doesn't offer international calls that's why I chose Lebara.

TPG has $15 for 10Gb for the first 6 months with no lock in contract if someone after a bit more data

    • +1

Just keep in mind that previous posts have pointed out an $11 porting out fee. so if you don't want to continue on with paying $29.99pm thereafter, you'll want to port out, making the true monthly cost $16.83 pm. It's still not terrible, but it's worth noting. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374063

also, it sounds like you can get out of the $11 fee, but with a lot of trouble.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176189

      • Thanks for pointing that out, didn’t even realise they charge port out fee, should have done my research before I bite it :(

    • What about the international calls and sms? This is what I am mainly after now for a friend who needs unlimited calls and text to landline and mobiles and special numbers if possible to India.

      • Hi AlienC,
With the Medium Plan you get Unlimited Calling and Texting to any Australian number and also the same for 15 Countries which includes India as well.On top of that you also get 7gb internet every month!

        • So no restrictions to anything in other included countries like india? (SMS/landlines/mobiles/special numbers/etc)

Just looking for the most unlimited cheapest international plan to australia and india and maybe some scandinavian countries.

We live in Malabar (2036) near the Beach Cafe. Years ago the Vodafone coverage was bad and we have to change carrier. Same was our neighbour. Is there any improvement with Vodafone coverage in recent years ? Or can I get my money back if I am not happy with the coverage ?

    • try whirlpool forums you will have better luck there or if you can find a local website for your council or suburb ask there

They might not have the exact information you need I mean they may but my instincts say they may not

    • Hi Pandandoc,

Malabar ,NSW is well covered with our network. You can check the network coverage using the link below:

      https://www.lebara.com.au/network-coverage

If you would like to know more about our network coverage, please send us a dm with your current address and we will get back to you.

      Kind Regards,
      Team Lebara

  • I've used Lebara in Italy and Spain before, and was spammed through text/email all the time by them. A botched recharge meant that I was barred from data which they weren't able to fix until the last week of the recharge period without any extension. They were, however the cheapest option I had at the time.

Has anyone had experiences like this with Lebara Australia? The deal seems pretty good (but my past experience leads me to believe I should stick with kogan)

  • Great deal, thanks op

I don't really understand the stacking part but if I bought this now and then activated it in November (within the 60 days obviously) do I have to buy the stacking plan then? Basically what I'm asking is does your account have to be activated to buy top up stacking? And will the 7gb data remain for the top up period?

I'm also confused why op recommended getting 3 180 plans when the 360 plans are cheaper and 3* 180 isn't 24 months anyway (I realised that's from the page)

  • How much is the 180 day recharge? Is it at normal pricing?

    • Really? You want someone to guess what the price of a plan will be in 6 months?

      • no, you can stack recharge on top, I am asking how much the recharge costs because I currently do not have an account so I can't login to see. The 180 day listed is for the 180 day starter pack, the recharge is different.

    • Hi, Medium 180 recharge normal price is 160 which is on sale as of now for $89.00 or you can buy one for 360 days which is on sale for $169.00 :)

      • So why does it recommend to get 360 starter pack and then 3 180 top ups? Can't you just get another year for the same price?.

Also do you have to register the sim before buying recharge? My current plan doesn't finish for a while do I wanted to get this and then activate it in November but can I get extra recharge at this discounted price too?

        • Hi, You may buy 2 x 360 day vouchers as well. You can stack up to 24 plans at a time. For the sim card you can order a long term starter pack which comes with a blank sim card sent by post and voucher pins emailed to you.

  • Does this plan included SIM card?

For such a good deal I plan to buy 2, so it can cover me 2 years.

So I only need use one SIM card they send to me and top up by using 2nd one?

    • -1

How many yrs worth recharges can you stack up? Don't recharge vouchers come with SIM though? How to use the same sim for two 360-days vouchers in that case?

    • Hi, Yes you can buy one long term starter pack which comes with a sim card and a voucher pin plus you can buy an additional recharge voucher.

  • I must say, very pathetic network since 2-3 months. Forget about watching youtube/streaming on the train, I don't even get 4G signal on the phone. They onboarded numerous customers recently but didn't bother to improve the network bandwidth. I regret the 180 days plan which I purchased 3 months ago. Did anyone face problems with late SMS deliveries?

    • What area are you in?

      • +1

Western suburb. Train Travel on the western line.

  • How does the price compare with Kogan, barring the intl calls? Kogan seems cheaper at $16.xx/month for 17GB data plan (one plus one offer). 7GB vs 17GB.

    • +1

Only reason to go with Lebara from what i can see is for someone who makes a lot of international calls.

      • Pretty much this.

Kogan for Australia only but extra data for online browsing, watching streaming etc / Lebara for Australia and International (thought I have to ask if it includes International mobiles and special numbers also or just landlines or VOIP numbers etc, sometimes it is a bit tricky and not stated as clearly)

        • International mobile calls are free.

  • How long can I use Lebera number without a recharge (to receive incoming calls)? Can I receive incoming calls with international roaming?

  • First time doing this 360 days sim deal. So what happen after 360 days you have to find another contract or you will lose your number?

    • +1

I wasn't sure of this myself, contacted CS. You would have 24 hours to recharge :/
But if you purchase main balance (PAYG credit), it would be 365 from that recharge. You can use main balance to purchase a plan.

So, you'll have to get another plan. You can extend with another long term plan during the current plan though. (up to 24 months)

    • Recharge or port out to another provider.

  • Any idea when roaming would be activated?

  • Do you need a sim starter pack before buying this? I'm with optus right now.

    • Not sure too. I did get an email saying a package was on it's way, so I assume it's the sim card.

      • Hi, when you order a long term sim starter pack you will receive a voucher pin via email and sim pack will be sent via normal post.

    • Hi, to bring your number from Optus to Lebara you will need a blank sim card which you can order online

  • Does it support shipping existing number?

    • Hi, I understand that you are after porting in your number to Lebara. Yes you can easily bring your existing number.

  • Rep, Will you support iPhone eSIM?

  • -1
    1. Does this deal come with a SIM card? How will this SIM card be delivered and how long will it take?
    2. If I pick up this deal, what do I need to do to retain my existing number?

    Thanks.

    • Yes, you can purchase a long term starter pack which comes with a blank sim card sent via normal post and it takes 5 to 7 business days. Once you receive a sim card you can activate the same from our website www.lebara.com.au. While activation there is a provision by ticking a box where it says if you would like to port in your current number. Thanks

  • Rep, any chance we will see the $99 Large plan for 6 months deal again? I signed up but want to get some friends and family onto it as well. Thanks!

    • Same question @Rep

    • Hi, you may have to stay tuned. :)

  • How does this differ to the Kogan 7GB/month 465 day plan? My Kogan is about to expire…. Stay with them $205, or jump to Lebara for $169?

    • @ozpanda

We are in the same boat with a Kogan 7GB plan about to expire. How are you getting $205 to stay with Kogan? Isn't that for new customers only? Recharging the Kogan 7GB/month 365 day plan is coming up $299.90 for us (which makes this Lebara deal v attractive).

Or are you planning to port out of Kogan briefly then back in as a new customer? Thanks.

  • Hi All and Rep,
I have ordered this but just want to know will i get sim card deliver at home or i need to buy it separately?

    • Hi, Please privately message us your order number so we can check where you have ordered a long term starter pack or just a recharge voucher. Thanks

  • the 30 days 20gb medium plan starter pack is $9.90 , can't i buy 6 of them and just recharge all at once for it to stack up to 6 months for $9.9 per month? or buy one of this and add on the 180 or 365 pack on top to get extra 1 month out of it with only $9.90?

    • Hi, $9.90 is the price for Medium 30 day starter pack only which applies to first month. 20GB includes monthly inclusion of 7GB and 13GB activation bonus. This activation bonus applies to first month only. Yes you can activate a $9.90 value plan and then purchase long term recharge vouchers which can stack up to 24 months.

      • i bought the $9.90 and 180 days plan voucher. Once i activate the $9.9 can i add the 180 voucher in straight away? it wont overide the first month right? it will become 7 months in total?

  • Hi Rep,

Just saw this deal, I would like to buy 2 360 pack and bring 2 numbers over. But both of them are on contract and finish mid-December. Would you able to extend the valid date to 3 months?Just want to confirm before I put the order through.

    Thanks!

    • +1

Hi, please privately message us your details after you place the order and we can definitely do this for you. Thanks.

      • Thank you, Rep.
Will place the order now and pm the older number when it is done.

Hi Lebara. I am currently on a 180 day plan and love it. I want to purchase the 360 day plan for my partner who is overseas at the moment. She will be here in Australia by December first week. Can you please let me know if you can extend the expiry for her order to around 90 days so that both of us can enjoy the Lebara network. Thanks

  • Hi team,
Could you please extend the activation dates until 19 Dec 2018 for the following order numbers. I have ordered two starters and one long 360 plans.
    Thanks
    Shri

  • Hi.

I just contacted your Lebara's customer service team and they said that it's not possible to increase expiry time from 60 days to 90 days.
Can you please clarify this urgently? thanks

    • Maybe contact the rep on ozbargain directly via PM.

If they're offline, I guessing the safest move would be to wait for a sale next time.
It would probably be the 180 for $99 which isn't that great when compare it to this. Although, the 180 $89 occasionally does make an appearance as well.

  • Hi Rep, Would like to buy 360 pack, but my current contract ends mid December. In this regard I tried to see if the valid date can be extended by chatting to an online rep, I have been told that it cannot be extended beyond 60 days. As with your other replies would it work if I place the order and pm the order details to you for an extension till mid December?

  • Hi OP, I am on a 6 months plan with amaysim, If I buy your 1 year card would I be able to activate after 6 months and get 1 one year started from that point?

Contrary to your above responses, your chat team says it can't be done?

Maria : We do apologise, as you won't be able to do that.
    05:10 PM
Maria : As you will need to activate the simcard or the voucher recharge within 60 days from the date of purchase.
    05:11 PM
Me: Your colleague said on ozbargain, it can be done
    05:13 PM
Maria : No that is incorrect information.
    05:15 PM
Maria : Those are just Sales agents and not Customer Care Representative.

    • Your best bet would be to PM the reps, they have the blue "Associated" next to their user name.

      • Thanks, sent a pm now.

  • Hi all,

This promo is now live for a very limited time.

    $178 of 7GB.

    • So $9 more than the previous 360 deal?

    • I am currently with Kogan. I am looking to get this plan and extra voucher (total 24 months) however my existing plan is expiring on 31/01/2019. Is it possible to extend the activation date from 60 days till 30/01/2019?

      Thanks

  • Is this offer coming back anytime soon?
