God i wish i knew my sizing, Even in store they had issues :(

    • i know what you mean .. 3 visits for me …

    • So glad to hear I'm not the only one

  • How do RM Williams shoes generally fit? I am usually a US 8 when it comes to runners and the like but never had a boot from these guys so don't know whether they are exact or a bit generous? Given there are no laces I don't want the thing flopping around like a pair of clown shoes….. Especially at this price.

    • I am generally a EUR46 (US12), but in RM's i am a US11.5 (RM 10.5)

Its worth getting measured up to ensure your width is also correct

      • Thanks. Clicking through and the only option are the main sizes, there are no width fittings you can opt for. Only option would be take a punt at a half size smaller I suppose.

        • +1

Would need to go lower than half a size. Im also a US 8 in nike and I swear I needed 6/6.5 for these (when I tried them on).

      • I'm US11 in nike/adidas/most brand, last time I tried the rm williams in store it was 10.5

    • Looks like they only stock the regular fitting G (not the H which is wide). I found I have to go a 1/2 size down from my regular fit. But best to be properly sized.

      • Wide wouldn't apply for me but the smallest they do is 7 which is exactly where I would be. Bugger, no option to drop half a size.

        Bit of a gamble.

        • If you're a G fit though you might be OK with a 7 . RM sell leather inserts which effectively decrease the size by 1/2.

      • How did you find out this is G fitting ?

        • The pictures showing the soles of the boot shows G. I'm also sure there would be option to select a H fit if available.

    • Sizing is tough for these things. i actually went into the shop and had a pair fitted. the ones they sold me were too small…thankfully when i took them back they sent them to the factory and made them a half size bigger, took about 2 weeks. Awesome now, most comfortable shoe I've ever had

    • +2

My foot is 260mm long. Their 7.5 is 263mm long (inner). That's what I wear. Use sizing charts and mm measurements, not EU/US/AU/UK bullcrap. It'll work.

By the way, if you ever find a deal on a Kangaroo craftsman, buy it. Far more comfortable than the regular craftsmans.

    • I'm generally a US9 in runners and I'm a 7G in RM Williams.

  • xe.com gives me $323 for 175 pounds…

I love how it's cheaper to buy an Australian Brand from a UK seller.

    • Australians are more easily led by the nose by our big and/or famous brands.

    • +1

Same as buying books online. Cheaper to buy online from the UK and ship here than buying in store or at Booktopia.

Still waiting on my Qantas store order from the last deal. Anyone else waiting?

    • +2

Maybe you need to follow up, its been a while now.

    • Received a few weeks ago, mine took about 4 weeks from when I ordered..

    • +1

Maybe you should hit up Qantas, Mine came a few days after I ordered, Sydney Metro

hubby's one came 2 weeks after ordering it.. you should follow it up :)

    • Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago

    • Mine arrived a few days after ordering, you should contact QANTAS

    • i am in sydney and mine arrived a few days after ordering.

    • I just received mine last week but a mate is still waiting

    • -1

I did follow up obviously. I wouldn't wait that long without following up. But at the end this is what they emailed me:

The revised estimated delivery date is Oct 23, 2018

    • I got my two pairs within a week or two and they're absolutely great.

  • +2

The discounted price isnt showing up for me? Am I doing something wrong?

    • put the code in

    • added the code in?

  • Had a pair fitted in store and was told they might feel tight but will loosen up over time. Had them for a few months, yeah still too tight. I like them though, so considering buying another pair half a size larger.

    • Maybe you can ask them to get it resized? It's usually free. I had the same issue but luckily mine loosened up after a few days. They told me I could come back if the it's still too tight after a few weeks and they can resize it.

I think their advice of putting leather conditioner inside and outside helped too.

      • Wish they said that when I got them! I might take them in and see how I go…

    • +4

You are not supposed to size RMs tight in the hope they will loosen. They are a good quality leather and they should be the right size when you first try them on.

      • They salesperson assured me that they should be tight and will loosen over time… :/

    • I had a similar issue, took the boots back into the store six months later and they replaced them with something that fit better, no charge. Had to fill out a form but that was it. I'd suggest trying that before buying another pair

      • OK will definitely do this then, thanks for the info!

    • Give it more time. It took me 3 months before the tightness and mine truly fit properly.

      • I've had them about 3 months and I think they fit a little better but still too tight, but it's Winter now, my feet will probably swell in Summer and it will be really bad again.

  • No size 13.

    • +5

no shoes for you, Yeti, haha!

    • rip. same ahaha

  • Wouldnt the GST apply to this as well?

    • +5

Only if the overseas retailer applies it. Not all of them do.

There is no GST collection at point of delivery in Australia for packages under $1000 in value.

      • i had to pay 10% tax when i bought something from ebay, item was shipped from hk. and the item was only ~AUD$5.

"From 1 July 2018, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) may apply to low value goods when imported from overseas by consumers in Australia. However, the GST will be charged at the point of sale and not at the border." https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/impo/buyi

        • +4

That's because ebay australia needs to charge GST since they are an Australian trading company, but if you're buying from an overseas seller then you don't. The government cannot make a foreign business charge GST. The law, whether you agree with it or not, has been terribly implemented.

        • +1

That's because EBay have chosen to cooperate with our government on this stupid tax. If an overseas retailer doesn't comply then there's not much the ATO can do and there is no mechanism to collect this tax at point of delivery

          • +7

@R4: The appropriate mechanism is to mail a cheque to Gerry Harvey for the amount of GST owed.

            • @kahn: cheque may or may not be smeared with an unknown specie's faeces

Have you been in a coma for a couple of years? Just curious.

        • +2

          Why? He/she is correct.

  • Fantastic price..too bad they arent selling the wide

  • Anyone knows if the sizes listed are US or UK sizes?

    • +1

No idea but I would be willing to put money on them being UK sizes given they are a UK based seller. I reckon the bulk of their trade would be local.

      • Thanks..do you know if they run true to size or should i up/ down half a size?

  • +1

They seems to be popular here. Do they worth the price tag in terms of comfort and durability or its just brand tax?

    • +3

Wear them every single work day for the last 4 years. Will buy again.

      Worth every penny :]

      • Thanks for sharing. Have they stretched out over the 4 years?

        • You should buy them tight fit just nice, they will stretch in a month or so to be the perfect width
After a few years they will inevitably stretch more but you can always bring them in to a store and get them relasted (formed back to shape)

    • +1

RM's is pretty good quality wise since they're Goodyear welted but the gap is closing nowadays. For around $300-400 there is a lot of alternatives such as Meermin, Herring, Loding etc…. If you can stretch to around $500 then there is MTM/ hand welted, the fit will be spot on and pretty much unlimited customizations.

      • Agreed, I bought RMs to support Australian workers even if it's no longer an Australian company.

  • +1

    Showing £350 for me

    Edit: Nevermind I'm an idiot.

I just bought with the code and total came to GBP 179.99 including delivery.
