    For those that wonder how these compare to koala:

    • the back support is a bit lower, so it’s less comfortable when sitting up straight.
    • it’s slightly wider
    • more time consuming to assemble (but takes less effort)
    • comes with couch pillows (in addition to the seat cushions)
    • the legs are very slippery. Not suitable for tile or timber floors unless you put anti slip material under each leg.
    • very strong smell from the cushion materials when opened. I’ve had it for a week and hasn’t worn off.

    In terms of comfort i’d say this couch comes out slightly ahead but that’s just my opinion.

      Chemical smell is definitely not anything we've heard of as a complaint before. If this is an issue - it certainly shouldn't last very long. It's like new car smell and happens with new items sometimes.

    If anyone is thinking of ordering.. instead of ordering 3 seater plus armrest mod pack, which totals you a little under $1500 ($1484 to be exact) with $150 off, you're better off going 2 seater plus seater plus armrest ($1532) and then using the $250 off code.

    We have also returned our Koala Sofa for Companion Couch, our review after almost a month of sitting/lounging

    • delivery is almost hassle-free, with live delivery tracking with zoom2u, fewer boxes and packaging in comparison with Koala (yay for the environment)
    • every box that comes with companion couch is less bulky and not as heavy as Koala, lifting is manageable solo when you have to move them to an upper storey
    • as mentioned, the assembly is more time consuming but is super easy. i assembled a three seater on my own under 30 mins and less. koala took 2 adults approx 20 mins and a bruised finger.
    • companions's cover is 100% WOOL vs polyester for Koala. softer to the touch vs Koala
    • did not notice any strong smell from both sofa cushion
    • aesthetically, prefer the size and look of companion couch.
    • Koala's cushions slips off the sofa a lot when lounging and companion's sofa stays in place.
    • would prefer an ottoman or a chaise lounge arrangement similar to Koala but i believe companion is working on one!
    • really awesome support from their facebook chat!

    I have a 3 seater and love it. The cushions are easy to rearrange depending on whether you’re sitting up or laying down, its very flexible. The couch is nice and deep too, so you can always get comfy and it makes an awesome spare bed if a mate stays over.
    The USB charger is a great feature, we’ve got two phones plugged in every night and it is super convenient.
    Assembly didn’t take us long at all, its very straight-forward.
    All in all it’s a very comfortable locally designed couch and great value for money!

    Edited to remove previous post regarding price - misread price on previous.

    Op - can you see any reason why you couldn't/shouldn't use a single without arms as a ottomon of sorts? IE: turn it 90degrees so that the back of the single seater lines up with the arm of the 2/3 seater.

      a Single seat unit won't work as an Ottoman sadly. We will have Chaise modules coming with our next order though! And corner modules too!
