    • I knew it! They always gonna do this lol

    • Life's tough like that.

  • lol, sorry. link updated

    🎉Happy New Year🎆
Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 14/01/2019.
    Bought another month with Kogan👍

    • Updated, thank you

    • Does that mean have to activate it by 14/01 or data/calls expire on 14/01?

      • +2

Activate by 14/01 to use voucher code, otherwise can't activate without paying again.

  • Is there a way to be considered a new customer every month, or just a way to use these deals month after month?

    • +1

Just register as a new number each time

      • -1

Is it okay to do that?
        No financial or other repercussions?

        • +17

If they find out you will be court-martialed, shot, and sent to the Russian Front.

        • Just remember to cancel your old plan. So you don't get charged and so you keep your prepaid number count below 5

          • @InfraRed: How do you cancel it, online via my account logon or I have to ring customer service?

        • You may be breaching their terms of service but legally, probably yes. Note that IANAL.

    • +1

If you have a dual SIM phone, it is easy. If you need to keep your number on a single SIM phone, then you will have to port out.

      • I have a Kogan sim with my number on it ported from Virgin. Got it from a similar deal at $0.49 a few weeks ago, it’s about to end soon.

Would I be able to buy another one and use it in my single sim phone, if I’m able to register as a ‘new customer’?

If by port out you mean my number to a different provider does this mean I can only do it every other time.

How come you can do it on a dual sim phone? Does it have 2 IMEI?

        Thanks for your help

        • +1

          Does it have 2 IMEI?

Yes, dual SIM phones have 2x IMEIs.

      • Can You please explain how it is easy? I have dual Sim phone, for first time. And I'm with Kogan already, my plan will expire on Dec.

        • +1

You keep one Sim card for calls and texts and the other Sim card for data, in this case, the Kogan Sim for data

  • Just found this new listing on ebay :O from an ozbargainer?
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/50-Kogan-Mobile-Prepaid-Voucher-…?

    • Dropshipping a SIM card… wow

    • +12

Hey guys I’m gonna show you, how I made $20k last month by using shopify dropshipping to sell a $1 SIM Card. Just watch my video for the next hour and sign up to my course for $2000 and you will be rich…

  • Now marked as Tomorrow? Bought for 99c an hour ago. States it is the upgrade to 40GB.

    • I bought one last friday and when I activated the sim this evening it showed 40GB plan instead of 32GB

  • Hi guys,

can i check if kogan pre-paid mobile plan can be activated by an overseas visitor to australia?

Have a couple of friends visiting from overseas and do not have local address (other than the hotel they are staying) or any local form of identification. They do however have their international passport details.

Has anyone tried activating this service for overseas traveller?

    Cheers

    • +1

Foreign passport is fine but need a credit card. Remember to select no auto top up.

    • +2

Kogan website just says 'passport' is a valid form of ID for activation. Vodafone specifically accepts an international passport as valid ID for activation, so I presume Kogan does as well (as it uses the vodafone network).

      https://www.vodafone.com.au/support/prepaid/activate-sim

      https://accounts.koganmobile.com.au/activation

Just use the street address of the hotel

    • Tried once, about 2 years ago, to activate a Lebara service for a relative, using her overseas passport details. Was rejected because details were not yet in Immigration database. Apparently, the traveler needs to arrive into AUS first, so their details can be recorded.

  • Thanks for the prompt response. It seem to have a selection for "International Passport" as form of identification so i guess it should work.

Thanks Jamesx on the note of of selecting "no auto top up". Definitely important to note in case we get charged.

Can i confirm that as soon as i activate the sim card, the 40gb data will be available or is there some other options i will need to select?

    • As soon as it's activated, your 40GB will be there.

      • Thanks so much for the quick response. Sounds like a sweet deal!

    • Previously the credit card had to have the same name as the account holder, so they could only be activated in the credit card holders name, I assume it's still the same..

  • What's Kogan's long term game with these $1 sim cards

    • perhaps it looks good on paper and shareholders that Kogan has this many new customers this quarter, similar to how banks try to get you to sign up to new cards to make it look like they are growing.

  • Thanks..got one..

  • +2

No big deal, but I forget to turn off the auto-recharge and just got slugged $50. It COULD happen to you. Ha.
I don't mind as Kogan's been generous with these deals.
I'll bet you five plusses they're not still going in twelve months.

    • +4

That's why I use prepaid gift cards with just a few dollars left on them for verification.

      • I tried Only 1 Visa Gift Card before, it wont work.

        • Only 1 Visa & coles gift card mastercard both work for me.
Can't get the $100 coles mc lately.

    • +2

when this happened to me last month,I purchased 5 more and keep buying on each promotion, all used for download ps4 game or upload photo to google photos.as revenge.

now each time after activation, did unclick the auto renew and delete the payment method first.

      • Hi mate, how can you "unclik the auto renew and delete the payment method'? I saw it ask the PIN number but really do not know how to creating the PIN number. Thanks for your advice in advance.

      • Hi I am having issue activating, I received the email with the voucher but the link they sent doesn't go where it supposed to go

    • +1

For 365 days play, the auto top up is unticked as default. Just fyi

    • Haha same as my brother, gor stunk 49$ auto recherge this morning

  • why i paid groupon >3$ and not receive the sim

    • +1

Contacted Groupon last night - no SIM due to delivery issue, so refunded. Waste of time & money buying through Groupon👎

      • wat a fail, more expensive and bloody takes ages

      • Mine was sent on 7 Nov, but I still haven't received it. Aus Post is a pain

      • +3

You could order a Free Kogan sim {credit to baxo for the link} and activate with the code that Groupon has given you?

        • Code was cancelled.
Thanks! Ordered a few, to have ready for next code.

        • Tried to order 5(max) of the Free SIMs, but no option to complete the buy. Checkout brings out the order details ($0), but no option to proceed further.
The product description did say (OFFICE USE ONLY), so I guess this is only for Kogan staff to hand out free SIMs when needed.

          • +1

@gabbyu: Had no problem with order. My 3 were delivered yesterday. Fastest Kogan mobile delivery ever for me (3d).

Try again - No problems for me now logged in to account.

            • @INFIDEL: I just added 2x of this $0.99 SIM, and now I can see the option to pay and finalise. Kogan did acknowledge my order of 2x$0.99 SIMs, and the 5x$0 SIMs; so we'll see if I get all 7 SIMs or only 2. Cheers.

  • damn 20gb now, thats a lot couldnt finished 13gb most of the time each month

  • So after 30 days you either disconnect or recharge at a higher rate? Hardly worth it.

    • +2

This is perfect if you want a data sim, or for oversea visitor to use

    • 40GB & unlimited calls etc for 99c not worth it… Hand in your membership😉

Just buy next SIM for around $1 or even get paid & bin old SIM. Great for data & outgoing calls.

Lots of discussion in these deals of how to make the most of these offers (dual SIM phone, pocket WiFi modem for data, second phone, etc). Been doing this for years with cheap or free SIMS for data & outgoing calls, keeping my number on another SIM for incoming calls - costing a few dollars a year.

      • @Infidel, new to all these prepaid bargains and currently in a situation where wired Internet sucks and need to rely on 4g.

Whats the best way to make all this work? Do I basically just purchase all the discounted SIM deals( Kogan, Optus, Telstra) as they come up, register, use my 30/40 GB for the 30 daya then purchase new discount Sims and bin the expired sims?

These are for data only as on postpaid for phone….

        Any help greatly appreciated.

    • Well the deal is clearly not in longevity, but there are uses, and bargainfinder (what an apt name..) gave you two good examples.

    • well said by others, you can actually make money sometimes by being an unloyal customer of telco companies (amaysim, OVO provided higher cashback than paying for the plan recently and now catch) which i haven't seen happening in other countries

    • The monetary saving is certainly good however the reason I said it's not worth it is having to change your sim and your phone number every month. That makes it too big a pita for me but, as always, ymmv.

      • And I don't think many would disagree with that, but clearly that's not the attraction of this deal lol

That'd be like commenting on an airfare deal to China and saying, "it'd be too big a pita to get to LA from China" (assuming LA was your final destination).

      • +1

it can be good if you have a phone with dual sim

  • +2

Or get paid $2.10 by CashRewards to use Catch Connect 32GB

    • or get paid first by cashreward then port back to kogan after 1 month as new customer

  • +1

The link doesn't go to actual deal anymore.

Here is the correct 1: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

  • Can Kogan SIMs be used in a mobile broadband device?

  • Is it new customer to Kogan or to Kogan mobile ? and can I buy 4 under my name for when my family comes around to visit ?

    • You just need to have a new number or port to Kogan. You can not use an existing Kogan number.

      • So if my original number is from Telstra and I port into Kogan this month, then port back to telstra after it expires for a month, can I port back into Kogan with this plan in month 3?

  • this gonna be a throwaway sims…what happen after 30 days? do Kogan still keep the number or what? is the service still continue for x months? currently on voda throwaway sim expire on tuesday and phone number continue to exist until next year…

  • Anyone managed to buy more than 4? Buying 5 for family cominng from overseas but keep failing on payig for the 5th one.

    • Should be able to buy it in separate orders?

      • Did separate orders actually and no luck. Had to ask my brother to buy from diff account

    • I successfully bought 6 in 1 acct and to same address in one transaction.

      • did you manage to activate the voucher online ?

    • just ordered 5, all in the same order I ll see how I go

  • Bought using Zippay!

    • whats so special about zippay…….. please elaborate

      • Just looked it up.

It seems interesting but don't really see how/why it would be particularly advantageous. It also would require the merchant to accept Zip Pay?

In practice, it's a Credit Card that isn't a Credit Card.

  • +1

Can I port out of Kogan and port back in every other month and still be able to use this deal?

i.e. if my original number is from Telstra and I port into Kogan this month, then port back to telstra after it expires for a month, can I port back into Kogan with this plan in month 3?

    • +1

Yes, has been doing this for the past 2years

  • My voucher is invalid which is bizarre, 'new customer'

    • You can always send the voucher to me.

      • It worked when I called up and they did it manually, was weird and the operator didn't have a reason

  • +1

Is there any way to use my existing sim with their recharge voucher? I don't mind a new number just don't want to wait for the new sim to arrive

    • I would also like to know if possible

    • +1

You can use an unactivated Kogan SIM with the recharge voucher. The recharge vouchers are not "tied" to a specific SIM.

  • Wanted to buy a few vouchers but Kogan ran out of numbers :-(

    • Wait what..? What does that mean?!?!

edit: Oh right wow I just noticed that it's "out of stock"! Interesting..

  • @baxo
Do you have the new link with the same or maybe better deal ;)

  • misleading !! the same product at $0.98 is out of stock, at $4.90 is in stock. it isn’t a real out of stock! Kogan just doesn’t want to sell the same product that cheap! they are lying to the consumers !

    • +1

lol, just wait a few days, it'll be back.

      • Waiting for the new one.
