Will it be Cashrewards that nails it with 10-12% cashback again, or will 8% be the best offer, I wonder..

    • +1

just in case anyone checking at this time, Cashrewards is 11% for 4 hrs (from 8-midnight)

      • Is that their black friday deal? Keen to jump on God of War + Spiderman but if I can get a few extra % by waiting a few days i'll do it

        • its gone.. 11% was last night

  • Man Detroit was $39 when I looked an hour ago.
    They're quick.
Still, I'm in no need of new games…

    • +1

I was about to purchase them, then I remembered I have about six other games to play first that will probably take me 4–6 months to finish. No harm in waiting since it's inevitable they'll go to even lower prices after a while.

    • Detroit is $40 now, guess they jumped the gun on the sale

    • Pfft. Black Friday is not about 'need'!

  • +17

Bloody hell. Lost 95 cents by buying GoW a few days early.

    • +9

Damn, that's almost the price you'd pay to rent Bonestorm!

      • +3

I preferred Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge to Bonestorm personally.

        • +2

I suggest feather touch. You have entered 'power drive'.

    • +1

Same. Gutted to lose out on 95c ;)

I suspect we will need to wait till Friday to get the non-Ps4 exclusive games prices reduced, as that is when Big W is doing it,

      • +3

contact Amazon support.. they may be able to pricematch & refund 95c ;-)

        • +16

LOL I just did exactly that and got 95c refunded. COME AT ME WITH NEGS BRO!!!

          • +1

@zzyss: Hahah.. true ozbargainer. Every cent count 😂👌

          • @zzyss: You may not like it, but this is what peak bargain hunting looks like.

          • @zzyss: I got $2 back somehow.

All is good with the world.

    • weeps True Ozbargainer

  • +3

Just waiting for them to make FarCry 5 $25 to match Big W and then I’ll be pulling the trigger on a big order

  • Will JB hifi price match ?

    • +1

      yes..they will but Big W i guess

  • +1

Hope someone has a good deal on Ass Creed Odyssey soon.

    • +1

It's current $55 price is honestly a steal. I paid $69 for it at launch and easily the most value I've had in a game in a long time. So much to do!

      • I'm just willing to wait a bit since I just finished Origins, don't want to burn out on too much of the same.

        • Fair play :) I purchased Origins at launch but returned it after an hour, my life was too hectic at the time to invest hours into it. I'm very tempted to dive back into Origins post Odyssey though.. whenever that is! They just keep on pumping more and more content into AC Odyssey its crazy!

  • I bought Detroit + Spiderman with CR

  • +6

Now all i need is a good ps4 pro deal and im set.

    • we are in same boat ;-)

    • Im considering buying the games without a console as well.

      • haha.. I got all ps4 games and VR stuff except console.. waiting for historic low price (can wait this until Dec end) on Ps4 pro :D

      • I already bought 6 games. Few were because of the horrible PlayStation hits thing they are doing so I had to look for original copies like last of us. Rest were so cheap I bought them anyways.

        • Few were because of the horrible PlayStation hits thing they are doing

So horrible that they are pricing popular games for $25 brand new?

    • If you can hold out then do it, I got my PS4 Pro during the Amazon Boxing Day flash sale last year and got the console by itself for $360, haven't seen anything close to that since.

  • Drive club is matched to target; $19 for the hits version, $20 is for standard.

    • +3

I can't bring myself to buy any Sony hits or Nintendo essentials titles. It's so dumb but it cheapens the game for me, even though it's the same game. I dunno, I'd rather pay a bit extra or wait for the original shrugs

      • +2

Agreed. Have always been like this, right back when certain PS1 games came out with a ‘Platinum’ version. That silver bar across the cover was one to avoid!!

      • +1

I'm the same way. It's not as gaudy as generations gone by (with those silver cases and the thick borders), but I still don't like how cheap it makes the game look.

        • +13

Wow. You guys take First World Problems to a whole 'nother level. Congrats!

      • I’m on the same boat. I spent the week looking for the original non PlayStation hits version of last of us remastered for PS4 and managed to find a single copy being sold in amazon. I paid a little extra since it was an Australian copy but it was definitely worth it.

    • Thanks added.. did't see "Hit version"

        • +1

yeah .. both are added thanks:D

          • +1

@Being Askhole: You're all too fast for me!

            • @DeepHorizon: Excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between hits and not?

              • @carling: Ugly packaging/case.

                • @teajay74: Quite minor then. Is drive club a good game? Has it updated much in the past 4 years. This or gran taurismo?

                  • @carling: Much prefer GT Sport. Drive Club was really hard to drive (for me at least). Didn't like Drive Club, regretted buying it, was really happy to get rid of it through EB's Fortnight V-Bucks offer.

                  • @carling: I don't really like the game, but the packaging/cover look really great (as long as you don't get the hits version). so still worth it.

  • Am thinking the 3/6/9 months of Stan is better than the 8% cb…

    • If you would otherwise be paying for Stan, or don't use it but would get a lot of use out of it, then definitely.

      • Remember, all new Stan subscribers get one month free trial regardless.

And, you can only get three free months from the JB deal if you're new to Stan. In other cases you get an upgrade to their 'premium' plan for three months, which is really only worthy if you can display 4K.

        • True, but you're only looking at ~$2.10 cash rewards on a $29 game.

          • @asubtleviolence: Yes - if you're buying one title that is true.

If you're going to be new to Stan definitely go that deal.

  • Gah! I checked Amazon this morning, to see if they'd price matched Big W's early sale. They hadn't so I bought at Big W. Could have saved $3.90 shipping thanks to Prime. :?

Lesson learned I guess. Alternative of course, is wait too long and it sells out!

  • Damn…I bought with BigW. I should have waited…:(

    • -1

Why? They're the same price, or even cheaper @ BigW if you consider the minimum spend required for free shipping with Amazon.

      • 8% cashback

        • -1

          Amazon - $50-8% = $46 total.

          Big W - $29 total.

It all comes down to the individual, if you can't find any stock or prefer it being shipped to your door and don't mind spending the extra, then Amazon is an alternative, otherwise local pick-up Big W is the better option if we're chasing the best deal.

          • @magic8ballgag: OZBers would just create a new account and sign up for the free trial for Amazon Prime.
BigW - there is no guarantee you get a sealed copy. There was a game I wanted to buy from BigW, but they don't have sealed copies left.

  • +1

tried to get a price match for horizon https://www.bigw.com.au/product/horizon-zero-dawn/p/524248/ no go though :(

    • They do not price match like that.

    • wait 3 days. $19 at big w

      • Bought it today from Big w at $19

  • +2

I'm just waiting on Amazon to price match Big W for FIFA

  • +1

Scrolls down to the bottom of the page and I see:
Customers who bought this item also bought
Palmolive Antibacterial Liquid Hand Wash Orange, 250 mL
What? Am I missing something. I perchased the game but not the soap. What is Amazon trying to tell me….

    • Apparently the game you bought comes with lube. ;)

  • Just grabbed Detroit. Grabbed God of War the other day for $0.95 more but I'm not too worried. Still cheaper than Big W with 8% cashback anyway. Awesome deals!

  • +2

FYI there are other cheap exclusives as well like Shadow of the Colossus for $19 and Wipeout Omega Collection for $19.95.

  • Horizon Complete at $33. Should wait or buy now?

    • +2

I got it a while back as part of JB's 2 for $40 deal but I haven't seen it anywhere near that cheap since. Still worth it at $33.

  • Unfortunately Amazon doesnt price match vr bundle (yet). Otherwise I may buy one when cashback rate is 11% at the moment.

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Hits also sells at 19$. With cashrewards, the price is better than big w.

    • I found the special edition of this in my cupboard the other day. Forgotten I purchased it!

I had already played through Uncharted 4, but purchased it again because JB had it for $19 at the time!

  • god of war no longer $29 on amazon, good thing i ordered as soon as i saw the deal.

  • Looks like Detroit is back to $40.95 now on amazon.

    • Yep :( Will be interesting to see what they do come Friday though.

      • +1

It's not $29 as Amazon has no more stock of this title. It's another seller you're seeing now.
