Dell Inspiron 15 7000 or Lenovo E580 or ????

I need to pick a new laptop for my mum and would appreciate some help choosing. Really only looking at Dell or Lenovo so I can take advantage of the OZB bday 12% cashback. short list:

Lenovo E580 - $1099 (45% disc)

Dell inspiron 15 7000 - $1199 (40% disc)

Both are no doubt more than she needs but there's not much $ savings in lower spec.

So..what would you recommend?

I'm leaning towards the lenovo. Her current laptop is an E520.

Other suggestions in the $1000 range welcome. 15", 256GB SSD and decent battery life are the only real requirements.

      I was bloody close to buying that earlier but put off by the glossy screen. Probably more of a pet hate of mine than mums, but here current laptop is anti-glare so best stick with that.

      she could take or leave touchscren / 2:1 laptops. Already has an ipad and in 15" it becomes less usaful IMO

    I wanted something similar for my younger brother. I went for the dell one as well I had a coupon code workng :) EPP50 on DELL website. Specs wise all same. Lenovo was a strong candidate because I know they last.

            @Ajax: may not is good enough for me. Just ordered dell with the EPP100 code.
