      • thanks it works

        • Did it let you proceed? Mine gave me the "Digital gift cards will be sent via email / MMS and cannot be collected in-store." message but wouldn't progress to the next screen.

Tried in both IE and Firefox

          • +2

@rysith: yep, i think it's the saved payment that's causing the problem, i use a new card and it's ok

  • +2

Thanks OP, got a $40 Dans gift card. Hopefully it's an eGift that will work across the WW group… Otherwise it's merry Xmas!

  • Thanks for the awesome offer. Where can I get the direct link to access these offers?

    • It's in the op..

  • Did anyone received a confirmation email after registration?

    • Not me but as above it’s now in my saved offers list

  • is it $40 in one transaction? it doesn't say 1 but it also doesn't say one or multiple like it normally does.

Found this buried in the T & C at DM's website. Can someone confirm that this means Dan Murphy's card can be used at Caltex for petrol?

    "WISH Gift Card" means a

    WISH Gift Card,
    Woolworths Supermarket Gift Card,
    BIG W Gift Card,
    Dick Smith Gift Card,
CALTEX WOOLWORTHS co-branded Petrol Gift Card,
    BWS Gift Card,
    Dan Murphy's Gift Card,
    Thomas Dux Grocer Gift Card,
    Woolworths Liquor Gift Card,
Masters Home Improvement Gift Card, and
    Cellarmasters Gift Card Gift

    • There are some caltex stations don't accepts egift cards. Check with your local one.

      • Sorry I mean, "Caltex/Woolworth petrol stations"

        • +1

If the servo accepts Wish Cards it will accept Dan Murphy's eGift cards.

  • Bought the second dan murphy gift card with the same DM account and I got a message saying my purchase randomly selected for a security check.

    • All my $40 DM cards purchased today are set for a 'random' check.

  • Is everyone buying the physical GC or eGC? The physical ones come with with a delivery fee as can not pick up instore.

Do the eGC trigger the credit and can be used at Woolies too?

    • To your last two questions: yes and yes

Buying the eGift Card as it's technically faster than a physical Gift Card (plus you may have to pay postage)

Manual link doesn't work for me:

"Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.amexconnect.com.au for other fabulous offers."

    Anyone else have this issue?

    • +1

Yes. Just tried to enrol by manual link as the offer was not showing in the app and got the same message.

      • What card?

        • Explorer

        • Amex Gold for me

      • Same, Explorer and Westpac

        • same. not for me essesntial and westpac altitude

    • Same here

    • same here, I tried a few of my cards,
      none are working

    • Yes, myself :( wtf!

  • +4

I used the link and got: "Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.amexconnect.com.au for other fabulous offers."

    Am I doing something wrong?

    • same here

    • Ugh me too

    • Same

      • -1

None of my 4 explorer cards are targeted, same thing happened to shop small deal. That's it I am cancelling my explorer cards.

        • Are you saying you couldn't enrol those cards for Shop Small?

          • @Some Guy: They did not appear on the offer page when I log into my account (the shop small offer).

    • Same here, it keeps giving error " Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.amexconnect.com.au for other fabulous offers."

  • +2

Via the manual link i get "Unfortunuately this campaign is by invitation only…"

    Qantas AMEX Discovery card.

    • +4

Amex must have closed it off. Car alarm woke me up early and I managed to register all cards

      • Welcome to the OzBargain life.

        • Yup, you win some, you lose some.

    • I got same card and managed to get manual enroll for all primary and supplementary cards

  • +4

    This

Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.amexconnect.com.au for other fabulous offers.

spells the end of AMEX manual links.

    RIP.

    • I wonder which cards are being targeted? People who haven't spent at a particular merchant before, people who have spent at a merchant before or higher value cards?

I for one have used my AMEX Qantas Discovery at DM's before and was not targeted.

      • Offered in-app on all my cards, as soon as I registered one it disappeared from everything else (the old log out/log in trick didn't work).

Wife got 2 cards registered in-app before they all disappeared.

  • +1

Lame it's invite online. Probably because Amex knows I'll actually use it. Good thing I'm getting rid of my explorer… this thing has become a liability.

  • Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.amexconnect.com.au for other fabulous offers.

Amex direct link doesn't like me.

    • Same here.

    • Same :(

  • Not on my explorer card but on my platinum edge.

  • Thanks OP

  • "Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only" as above

  • It's not targeting as such. I got that same error message, but then logged into my account and could apply it there.

It's a block they put on the manual link, though temporary or not is the question.

    • Tried manual link but it wont register my explorer card oh well

  • I was able to save this link to two of my cards via the direct link in the OP. I went to save it to a third and got the targeted offer error. I also noticed that the third time around the $40/$30 spend discrepancy had been corrected.

Reminds me of Event Cinemas vouchers listed in JS long time ago.

      1. add breakpoint to the line: if(disableEnrollment){
      2. fill in and hit enroll button
      3. go to console, type and hit enter: disableEnrollment = false
      4. step through the breakpoint
      • If anyone has issues with this, try doing it in Firefox.

      • +5

I just changed return validateFields(this) to return true, easier than going in there.

        • Not all browsers allow you to do it.

          • +1

@jobski: Yeah firefox is definitely better in that sense. Anyway these guys probably just wanted a quick fix to stop most people.

            • +36

@truetypezk: @trutypezk Yes, very easy with firefox: https://streamable.com/amg03

@jobski: Haha great effort for making the recording!
Hopefully they don't pull the offer altogether though.

              • +3

@jobski: i wish i could upvote this more than once! Thanks @jobski

              • @jobski: Absolutely brilliant. For a non IT person, how does this work? How can someone just edit what the webpage can do?

                • +3

@padman: The check here is done in client-side Javascript so you can modify it and/or fudge results.

It's a bit like when you disable javascript or when you're using internet explorer 6 and none of the scripting/website works :P, you can see that's entirely on your end.

Proper websites would check the details on server side and reject or allow the user input rather than rely on client side verification.

              • @jobski: Great stuff!

              • @jobski: thanks mate - you're the best!

OzBargain MVP! way to go above and beyond!

              • @jobski: Professionals. Love it.

For once I’m happy kids woke me up early

  • +4

Apparently this offer was supposed to be targeted but they put a manual link up by a mistake. At least it was not listed for my Amex but I managed to register via the manual link.

Now they have closed the manual link and it is targeted only.

    • +3

Hope they don’t disable for those who enrolled already

      • I still see it in my app..better use it ASAP..just in case..

        • Confirming that it is working for people who were not targeted but saved the offer via the manual link…ordered a $40 DM GC..got the amex confo email instantly..

  • -2

all 12 cards, easiest 120$ ever lol.

    • +1

      Up to 3 times .. $360 ?

      • Dont think i buy anything much from woolies (after 480$ gift cards? and iconic. Not in sydney so cant do event.

        • $40 is possible at Woolworths. Stock up on the toilet paper.

      • You can only use it once at Woolies, once at Dan Murphy's, one at whatever, not all three at Woolies.

        • +1

Technically you can use it twice at Woolies because Dan Murphy's giftcards are Wish cards that can be used across different stores.

  • invitation only doesn't work for me

  • 2 out of 7 got offer in portal

Failed to register manually as others

Danmurphy online bought $40 gift card . Got email saying offer used. Waiting for email gift card.

Second time buying got a note from DM this transaction under random selected review.
Prob becoz I bought same thing same amount so close to each other. Was logged in my DM account though. Maybe that's why

  • But if you registered manually will it be honoured?

    • They should

    • +1

Yup, it's showing in my Saved Offers list with a shopping bag icon, so it's safe to say that all who managed to get in before the script got disabled will be fine. You gotta be quick with these AmEx offers.

In saying that though, this is the first time I've seen a manual link give that error. Targeted offers are normally only available on the app and/or on the AmEx website dashboard in your account.

  • missed out :(

  • None of my AMEX's work :/

  • Anyone received their DM giftcards yet? I don’t remember it taking this long to issue them.

    • Not yet. Got a message after purchase saying it was being security checked and may have a delay up to 15 minutes.

    • Nope; ordered at 9:01 a.m.

    • I got the same '15 mins' message when transaction was confirmed but it's been hours.

    • yes

    • Got mine now!

  • Invitation only.
    Does not work for everyone.

    • +1

      Not anymore.
