    More secure than sms.
    Possibly more than Google authentication/similar apps.
    But less supported than.

    Yubi key is like your physical keys that that you use to gain access to your house.

    Except this key is linked/Integrated with/to your digital accounts (i.e. Email, lastpass or any services that supports it). It's more secured than having the mobile phone authentication or App method.
