Change Management Courses??

Anyone have experience with Change Management courses/industry ? I am happy to commit six months and plan to get work to pay. So I am wondering what is the minimum qualifications recognised in the industry. Is there a recognised Institute? Would like to hear from those who are qualified.
Thanks

I work with Change Managers in my role every day.

Try and get into the industry first or in a position that works with Change Managers.

It's not a role that's easy to get into with just qualifications. Actual experience is very important. The contents of the courses also make more sense and easier to understand once you have a bit of experience in or around the Change roles.

    • This.

OP, What job are you trying to get into exactly?

I do change management as part of my job and I did a 3 year degree so I’m not sure a 6 month course will help.

  • ProSci is the std in my workforce

    • Do you mean Bachelor of Applied Science (Project Management) ?

    • What's ProSci

  • OP: A simple google search leads me to this (if you are in Sydney)

    https://www.business.unsw.edu.au/degrees-courses/postgraduat…

Would say this would probably go down pretty well with an employer, you could probably get it done in 6 months if you have some exemptions etc.

  • Thanks, I didn't realise it was a discipline on its own. I have B.App Sci and some other post grad, plus an electrical tech/trade. ++++++ years prof exp in tech based PM and systems & planning.
I am looking to add to my skillset as I currently work for NSW Gov and run a team of permanent 20+ with +100 contractors.
Doing a two year part time PG Cert is not realistic , plus cost is prohibitory.
Looks like I will keep searchin.
Large part of my role is change management ,just wanting to awesome it up for 2019

  • Make sure you understand what the company is actually calling change management.
There's traditional organisation change management (larger IT/App related) and then there's also communication management in regards to release management (or similar) which is also floated as change management.
NBN Co advertised some roles which were for the later and I had a friend who went in with change/incident management skills and came out of the interview saying their screening agents basically wasted his time.
