Braun Shaver Clean and Renew Liquid

A couple of years ago I asked about making this shaver liquid. Scubacoles answered and I had a go but failed. I got fed up with paying between $21 and $25 for 2 cartridges, I live in a small country town, 2 hours from the nearest city. So I went looking for another recipe for the cleaning fluid. This is what I found.
https://www.shavershebang.com/products/ba-refills-braun-clea… and and you get a 7.5% discount with the code bymore75,
and I got the IsoPropyl Alcohol from here https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/sydneysolventsptyltd2014.
This my first post like this so I hope that I can help someone.

  • I just bought a braun shaver. I didn't get the option of paying $50 more, with charger (and automatic cleaner in charger) because the lady in shavershop said it lasts about 1 week before needing charge anyway.
Anyway, they suggested I need a spray to manually clean. Would this recipe, and a hand pump spray work the same as the spray cleaner that's sold in stores ?
I have 4litres of isopropyl sitting there, so that's not an issue or cost.

  • +1

The shavershop usually have pretty good deals. I got 6 for $45 at the end of last year. Just keep an eye out on here.

    • Yes I did the same!

  • So how do you clean out the old cartridge to add this solution in? Usually it's full of hair and difficult to wash out.

    • just flush it out with water?

      • I think I need a hose. Kitchen Tap doesn't do the job.

        • Fair enough. i buy the 6 bulk pack when its cheap, normally lasts me about a 'year'. So haven't gone down the path of cleaning it out yet :)

  • There are instructions on a flyer that comes with the ShaverShebang sachet, and on their website. Wash the cartridge out with water, through the small hole. It works for me.

  • We use a DIY with glycerin and isopropyl alcohol. Even cheaper and the razor's still going well after 6 years.

Just Google your razor followed with DIY cleaning solution.
