Home Colour Printer - Suggestions?

Hi All,

We’ve had an old PIXMA colour printer, for low home use. Liked it cause it had OEM ink tanks on EBAY.

It’s finally died, can’t repair it this time.

Anyone suggest another option ? In the OzB spirit.

Requirements are :-

Colour
Print both A4 and photo paper
Cheap to run, will pay more upfront

Thanks :)

  • I'm yet to replace my Pixma, but when I do, I'll be looking at the Endurance range.

    • Thanks for this. Seems a little serious for my needs. We actually have a laserjet mono at home as well (home business for my wife). This is for the odd colour copy / printing photos from time to time.

  • +1

    Epson eco-tank, really cheap ink!

We've just bought an ecoprint and it is fantastic. I would definitely recommend these to others. I too was more interested in a low running cost and didn't mind spending more up front.

    • Link me the model.

  • Just get a Canon again. They are pretty good, and you can buy generic inks on eBay. If you only need it for black and white, then look at a Brother Laser printer. We have a cheap wireless one for our warehouse staff.

    • Really ? Seemed like all the new ones didn’t have OEM ink options anymore ?

  • How much would you need to print per week? I would always go Brother Laser, but it may be overkill for your needs.

    • Thanks. Yeah, just the odd bits and pieces. The old pixma was perfect for our needs… cheap and easy

  • Looking for a printer/scanner.

Main use case would be for a housemate who will be printing many colourful business cards and just generic text documents and scanning purposes.

So looking for the best printer for printing business cards.

By best I mean most economically best value that is barely passable and cheapest (I don't want to spend too much on a printer but enough that it suits his needs).

    Yeah.
