[NSW] Xfinity Plus 20V 4Ah Battery $29.99 @ ALDI Liverpool

60

Decent discount on the already cheap price for a 4Ah battery from Aldi Liverpool. Sorry for the bad photo there was more than 10 in the glass case but I realised later they were stacked away from the price label.

Also Xfinity charger and portable work light for only $19.99 each (not pictured), a cheap way to get in to the Xfinity range so you can take advantage of all those random Aldi clearance prices.

Plenty of these at this price at Victoria Point Qld this afternoon

    • Yeah I reckon this is the standard discount for most Aldi. The rare one is selling them for 20 to 25 but most people will miss out waiting for that pricing

  • that's not a discount

just a normal yellow ticketed price

    • "only $19.99 each (not pictured)"

      • Chargers were $5 in Dec/Jan.

        • Maybe at the odd store, but I shop at 4 or 5 stores and have never seen them that cheap so figured this would be useful for some people.

    • The last catalogue price for the 4Ah battery was $39.99

Anyone repurpose these for other 18v/20v brands?

    • Check the comments from previous thread thanks to @SteveAndBell https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/6448693/redir

    • In case this is still relevant I recently discovered that with a minor modification you can get these Xfinity Plus batteries to work with the PowerG range of cordless tools sold by Autobarn. The battery shape is identical but the PowerG tools have an ID pin that needs to be removed after which the batteries will fit perfectly and the tools will run as expected (though I've only tried with one of their drill drivers).

I'm also pretty sure that the Baumr-AG 20v range is identical to the PowerG range so the same mod probably works with those as well.

I don't know whether removing the ID pin from the tools stops them from working with their "native" batteries.

  • Photo was fine :)

  • From what i can tell they are Un-protected, is that correct?

    • Well the power connectors are exposed, if that's what you mean?

    • They have circuits to protect the pack as a whole but if harvesting the individual cells then yes, they are unprotected.

  • No, just they always talk about protected and unprotected, button top etc,

  • Hi guys, do you know if these batteries are compatible with Ozito tools?
Or if Ozito batteries compatible with Aldi tool?

    • No, however there are adaptors available online or you might make your own if you are handy

    • Hiya Lionelong and Jackson.. just to clarify, YES these packs are indeed compatible with Ozito, they are pretty much identical. I have 6 of these 4ah packs lol, 5 of which are giving up their 'Samsung 20q 15amp high discharge 2ah 18650 cells' for me to build my 10s5p 37v 10ah scooter battery pack (going to take 50 cells). 1 of the packs will be spared to live on powering my Ozito drill and Xfinity tools..

Someone else asked are they protected, yes they do contain a BMS which handles charging and over-current shut-off. If you want to use them 'as they are' for, say, a scooter lol, you'll have to open them up and bypass the BMS.

      • The Xfinity Plus packs are not compatible with Ozito's current 18v cordless range of tools at all. Not only is the interface physically different, the pinout is different as well.

Are you sure you're not confusing Ozito with another brand of "red" power tools like Autobarn's PowerG range? Aldi's Xfinity Plus batteries are compatible with the current PowerG range if you remove the ID pin from the tools themselves.

Baumr-AG is another example of a range of red power tools that also use what look to be essentially the same batteries.

      • I notice there is no balancing cable connected to each cell. how do they balance?

  • checked my local Aldi (Miranda) yesterday, chargers & light were on sale, the batteries were ticketed @$39.99 :(…

Was after some cheap cells for my vape…

Thanks, got it today at this store for $27.99.

Anyone knows any store still have the cordless blower left in stock?

    • Drop of 2 bucks isnt worth the exchange, but hey even better now!
