  • Waiting for my Bali Sim to ship for a few weeks (I was expecting a delay so that’s fine). But rep, any chance of cancelling the original order so I can buy now with the discount?

Edit: oh you’re sold out of Bali sims. Any idea when my order will ship though?

    • Hey captnrosco,

Thanks for reaching out! We actually had our Bali SIMs discontinued.

Please give me your Order number and I will have 2X SEA SIMs sent to you as a replacement.

Sorry for the delay! I might have completely missed your order :S

  • What provider does jap sim use? Any free wifi hotspot come with it?

    • Hi HLTT,

The SIM uses the SoftBank network.

You can hotspot your data allowance, but its apart of the 5GB usage.

      -Aidan

  • Cheers OP/rep, booked a couple of NZ sims. What's coverage like in north island in Tongariro/mt ruapehu area? Not expecting much but figured will see, rest will be major towns so assume no dramas.

  • Whats the expiry? on the Europe & UK SIM Card - 71 Countries | 12GB | 30 Days
    Planning to travel in September/Oct.

    • No expiry date, you can hold onto them for as long as you need :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

      -Aidan

      • Wondering the same thing. So, for SEA or Japan SIM card, no expiry date as well? Travelling to Japan in June :)

        • There is an expiry date on the Japan and SEA SIMs. They expire 31/03/2020.

          So you're all good!

          -Aidan

  • Hi,

Wondering if the 30days start from activation or when you receive the sim?

Also how do you monitor how much data you have used.

Sorry if it’s a repetitive question

    • Hey NA82,

The days will start as soon as the SIM is activated, correct!

Which SIM are you referring to? There is a link to the SIM PDF guide in the product description on our website where you can read more about that.

It's also explained in our FAQ tab.

      Cheers,
      -Aidan

      • Europe sim. I just ordered it

        • Legend! Thanks :)

  • hi are they the only plans for the sims or can u add more data?

so for south east asia, if i wanted 12gb i would buy 3x 4gb cards. and when the data runs out, throw one away and pop a new one in? so i would have 3 separate numbers the whole trip?
so no top ups or anything?

    • +1

      Hey ego,

The SIMs are one-time use so you would just use multiple SIMs, correct!

Just swap them out as you go :)

      -Aidan

  • +1

For those looking at Japan Sims, have a look at the SE Asia Sim as well, as it allows data access in Japan.

    https://simsdirect.com.au/collections/south-east-asia/produc…

It has 1GB less data, 3 days less time but is over $10 cheaper. Both seem to use Softbank as the carrier based on the reps comments. Could be more useful for some if going on a shorter trip, or if wanting to buy 2 SIM cards.

    • Thanks for the comment John! :)

  • Hi there,

For the 5GB Japan 15 day travel SIM.

If you run out of the 5GB within the 15 days, does that mean you need a new SIM card? Or do you just have throttled data speed?

    Thanks,

    • Hey Kiryu,

It throttles back to 256 kbps. But honestly the speed is really slow, I would not rely on it at all.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks for the help. If I buy multiple SIMs using the code, each SIM is an individual SIM right? Not as if they're multiple of the same SIM plan right?

If you know what I mean?

Pretty obvious question, but want to ask anyways.

        Cheers,

        • Good morning Kiryu,

Yes, we will send you a separate SIM card for each SIM you purchase :)

          -Aidan

Yes it can be used for tethering :)

  • Man, if only that SEA Sim extended to 14 days!

  • Anything that works in Mexico mate?

    • Hi hypie!

The only thing I have is a data-only option here

We do have a new Mexico SIM launching in a few weeks time so it might be worth checking in on us again soon!

      -Aidan

      • Hi Aidan,

Will that include both Mexico and US?
Also would they be valid for 30 days?
Will the code still be valid for these new plans?

        • +1

          Morning paracaps!

The new SIMs are 30 days and work in Mexico & US.

Just reach out to me via email or Facebook and I can organise a discount with you :) Just ask for Aidan.

          Cheers!

      • Awesome will wait for that

  • Thanks OP. Got one for Japan which is in september. Can’t wait!

    • Yew! Thanks so much :)

Just let me know if you need anything.

      -Aidan

  • Highly recommended, used the same SIM in different trips to Europe, and to Chile (not Europe, but covered). I had to Google a way to recharge without a UK credit card and found a way to recharge using PayPal. Not official but recharged twice without issues. Once charged, you can use the credit to buy different data/voice packs through Three website.

    • Hey tderevko! Thanks for the feedback :) Glad its helped you out!

I've stopped recommending that method to customers because we've had a few customers get stitched up by the third party recharge suppliers. But as long as you do it through PayPal you should be all fine!

      -Aidan

  • Thanks OP! Perfect timing and you prompted me to get a sim for an NZ trip which I have been putting off. Legendary, +1

    • Haha awesome! Thanks Ghenghis :)

      -Aidan

  • Comparing the two USA sims for my Hawaii trip, one uses AT&T and the other T-mobile, which has better coverage?
I read that t-mobile has better coverage but when you take out the 600mhz coverage which my iPhone X doesn’t support, AT&T might be better?
    Any advice?

    • Hey Unco,

I am not sure, I think you might have to do some more googling for this one. Hopefully, someone can chime in with their experience on AT&T vs T-mobile in Hawaii!

I would use Frequencycheck.com to see if your device is compatible.

The more bands that are supported the more coverage you will have.

      -Aidan

      • +1

Thanks for the response, ended up grabbing 2 of the T-mobile ones, I figure most of the time we'll be in the more densely populated areas so should have coverage there regardless.

Great deal, thanks for taking the time to respond to every comment and question here too!

        • Thanks Unco!

  • Excellent. Thanks

    • Thanks for your order Vomo!

  • hi in one comment u said the sim wont expire untill 2020. then u said the sim will not expire period.

so the sim will never ever expire?

    • Sorry for the confusion ego!

I am referring to 2 different SIM cards.

The Europe 30 day SIM has no expiry date, but the Asia/Japan/SEA SIM cards all expire in 2020.

All our SIMs have varying expiry dates so the best way to find out when they expire is on our product pages on our website. It will be listed under 'Things to Know'.

      Hope that clears it up!

      -Aidan

  • if order now with express post will it get delivered tuesday Brisbane with express post? Flying out Wednesday.

    • Hi Ocular,

Yes, it should be with you in time. If it doesn't make it we can organsie a return/refund for the SIM.

    • +1

      Good morning lito,

The SEA SIM is fine for that, no worries at all.

Let me know if you need anything else :)

        Thanks

  • Hi do any of the usa ones work on mexico? Thanks

    • +1

      Good morning bansharkfin,

No sorry, we don't have anything for Mexico at the moment!

However, we do have a new SIM card being released in the next few weeks that roams between USA, Mexico & Canada. If you sign up to our email list you will get notified when w=it goes live :)

      -Aidan

      • Do you have any idea on the pricing, data allowance and duration for the USA/Mexico/Canada SIM?

  • Thanks! We used two sims last year throughout europe and they were awesome. Just bought two more for Hawaii in a few weeks. Cant recommend these guys enough. Awesome customer service via FB messenger too.

    • Morning Jake!

Thanks for your lovely feedback :) I'm so glad we were able to help you out!

Just reach out if you need anything from me.

      -Aidan

  • Hi, just wondering, between the Explorer simcard 12gb /12months which covers 71 countries and the South East Asia 4gb/12days, they both cover Hong Kong and Vietnam according to your info on the web site.Is that correct? Are they both on the same mobile networks? And also for the Europe and UK 30 days sim card, would it work in the above countries? If so, under which network? Thanks for your answer in advance so that to choose which to buy.

    • Morning giantbike,

Yes, correct, they both work in those countries. However, the 4GB SEA SIM we have is much better for Asian countries compared to the explorer SIM. The explorer is more suited for European countries. The use different mobile networks with the Asia SIM being more reliable.

The 30 days Europe SIM is the exact same as the Explorer SIM (they are both manufactured by the same company - we just gave the explorer SIM a fancy name!)

It's up to you, if you are looking for data speed and good coverage - go with the SEA SIM
If you want a SIM for longer - go with the explorer/Europe SIM

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

      • +1

Thanks Aidan for your detailed explanation. Bought 3x SEA SIM lastnight, and bought 1XEuro 12gb/365days sim today, so to put it in a tablet as a spare connection , and even if it's not used up, I can still use it in OZ after the trip for tHe next 10 or so months. Am I correct in assuming this is doable?

        • Yep, spot on!

  • Hey I’m travelling to the states for about 7 days and then going to uk and Egypt for around 2 weeks or so before heading to Hong Kong for a week
Which of these dim cards would be suitable? Or do I need a combination

    • Good morning bboink,

You will need a combo of SIMs to get coverage for all those countries. Unfortunately, you have a bit of a difficult trip for me to cover!

I'll just write out what I can think of:

      Option 1

Explorer SIM for all your countries you are going to except Egypt.

You would have 1 SIM card with 12GB of data and you could use it as you need while travelling between USA, UK & HK. The only downside is that the speeds are 3G in the US on this product and arent as good as our standalone USA SIM.

Your total for this option would be $63.25

      Option 2

A few SIM cards with better data speeds.

      1X USA SIM + 1X Europe SIM + 1X Asia SIM

The plan here would be to use a variety of SIMs to cover the whole trip with better data speeds and some calls/texts included in USA/UK. The Asia SIM works in Egypt and Hong Kong so that's handy too!

Obviously is more expensive though, the total is: $119.25

Let me know if you have any further question!

      -Aidan

  • Hi Op,

Does the UK and Europe sim have included calls and sms in the UK too (or a limit?).

All I can see is "Unlimited calls & texts (Europe Only)".

    Chess.

    • +1

      Hi Chess,

Yes, the Europe SIM includes unlimited calls/text in the UK.

      -Aidan

      • +1

Thanks Aidan. Maybe put that in your description above to help others too :)

Will get one for my next UK trip coming up in May!

  • you cant use 2 discount codes?
    birthday25 and multisim10

    • +1

They didn’t stack when I tried. The 25% off is amazing value for one or multiple sims.

  • How about Turkey?

    • Morning d86,

Unfortunately, we have nothing for Turkey :(

      -Aidan

  • +1

    Hi Op,

I'm travelling to Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina do you have a sim with coverage over all these countries.

    Thanks

    • +1

      HI Parley,

We can cover Peru, Chile but not Bolivia & Argentina unfortunately.

It might be better to wait and see what's locally available.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aiden

  • Just bought 2 x Europe sims, so won’t have to ask my father in law to organise us sims (and cancel them afterwards) like last time we visited the family. Lose out a few gbs of data but unlimited calls will come in handy! Just have to remind people to not call us on WhatsApp and waste through our data. Thanks for the deal OP!

    • No worries Akya! Thanks for the order :)

      -Aidan

  • Perfect for my upcoming June Europe ~30 day trip. Thanks OP!

    • Fantastic! Thanks for your order anthonettex :)

  • If i want to buy 2x simcards (same one) , will i get extra discount on top of 25%?

    • Hey Cella2010,

Discounts are not stackable, unfortunately, the 25% discount we are offering is the best one available currently :)

      Cheers,
      -Aidan

  • You have any SIM for Djibouti, I'm going early next year

    • Is it good to travel to Djibouti for leisure?

  • I thought for NZ it was convenient to buy it on arrival in the airport, but that is more expensive: $29 for 1.5 gb

    • Morning wd!

It depends on who you go to and what offers the carriers have. I've found Spark Mobile and 2degrees to be the best for good data amounts for $. Vodafone is more expensive but has more reliable coverage in NZ.

Thanks for your input :) Hopefully we can help you out next time you go to NZ ;)

      -Aidan

  • I'm headed to both US and Canada in July and would be nice to have 1 sim that supports 2 entire countries. Would it just switch to Rogers as soon as I get to Canada (possibly by car, not sure yet).

    Thanks.

    • Morning Pen!

Yes, the SIM will switch between carriers automatically. Sometimes you may need to restart your device to kick the SIM into gear but most of the time it just switches over once you land :)
