We have just scouted these error fares from Sydney to Bali from $293 return flying Virgin Australia. Travel dates in March / April 2019.
As highlighted this price can come down a further $30 using the promo-code FOLLOWTOFLY30 with BYOjet.
These fares are usually $500+ for a saver fare, as they are an error fare they may not last long - if anyone is able to book at this price please let us know.

+8 votesNice find, using "FOLLOWTOFLY30" on BYOJet you can get it for $269

Dam I just booked my flights with malingo Air for 400$ return from Melbourne, sucks Melbourne doesnt have that deal

Few comments in this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/436953

Itโs possible, they have honoured fares like this in the past.
+1 voteused Virgin for a recent trip to Bali, the plane was so small and cramped it was a joke, only 2 toilets and narrow aisle

+1 votewhat other airlines fly to bali? qantas use the same 737 and jetstar fly the smaller A320 maybe?
+1 voteQantas are using an a330 on some flights in and out of Sydney now.

+3 votesNot sure who downvoted you but I got the Dreamliner on jetstar to Bali from Sydney
+3 votesGaruda easily the best flying that route and good prices if you book early enough. AFAIK all others arrive in Bali around 9.30pm whereas Garuda gets you there just after lunch so you can actually get a bit out of the first day. Have used them several times in the last few years and always great.

I was upgraded to Qantas in my most recent flight and it was also super cramped. I would rather travel 8 hrs on scoot, airasia or jetstar any day

Checked the price on virgin website for one of the date journey and it's around $750 return. So price error is not from virgin

The pricing error is on BYOjet and Aunt Betty, both owned by Flight Centre and run on the same system.

At What point do I enter the promo code? I'm about to pull the trigger but I don't see the coupon box anywhere.
+2 votesI went directly to Byojet.com.au not through skyscanner.
As it is me and the wife, I booked them separately to get the $30 discount per person/ticket.
Don't know if you get $60 off if you enter two travellers on the one booking.

they may have to check in separately & pick a seat next to each other

Thanks OP, booked two tickets so let's see if it gets ticketed or not. Received notification from my credit card that payments have been processed.
Now, it's only a quick trip - anyone stay at the Conrad Bali or Hilton Bali, which is better? We have Hilton Diamond status if that helps changes the equation.
+1 voteUsername def checks out :)
Did you get a booking confirmation with an airline reservation code?
+1 voteYes it has been ticketed overnight (have ticket numbers).
Thanks for the heads up again.

Have you tried using the airline code into Virgin Website to select seats? My bookings dont show up on virgin even after the e-tickets have been issued with Virgin Booking code. I have been tossed on the phone between Flight Centre and BYOJET.
+1 voteDiamond too and stayed at Hilton Bali a couple of times, I liked it, reasonably decent executive lounge happy hour and I think they have renovated most of the rooms now. I heard Conrad Bali is good however have not stayed there. If arriving to Bali late, Hilton Garden Inn near the airport can be booked for 5,000 points a night.

Have stayed at the Conrad - great venue, the sort that practically has everything you need within the complex.

Thanks, the dates I am looking at 5-10 April, both the room rates at the Hilton and Conrad is almost identical. The Hilton looks like a nicer property though branding wise, the Conrad is supposedly much better.

+1 voteHAHAHAH the reviews are gold!
+1 voteOmg was gonna book this as a weekend away but after seeing these 1 star reviews made me decide not to. Thanks for the link neosin

Nothing wrong with BYOJet. I just made a booking through them and had no issue at all. Ticket was issue within few minutes. Always make sure you read their T&Cs and understand all the rules.
Otherwise, smooth process, no worries.

review online its a bit tricky, if you happy, are you going to leave feedback? the answer is no unless you got a free upgrade from economy to business, you might come to the site and write some good review :)

Someone explain why people book through agents? Isn't the price pretty much the same when bookinging directly with the airlines?

I can save up to a couple hundred sometimes when booking through agents (possibly part of the risk factor). But ill always check direct as well. Qantas has screwed me before price matching, now i don't bother.

Often there isn't a lot of difference and if that is the case always go direct with the airline. However there are sometimes good savings to be had.

Don't forget to join the Bali Bogans facebook page before you go ๐
+2 votesAlso dont forget you can use Bali as a springboard to other S/E Asian countries. Eg $200 return DPS/BKK.
+1 voteGood morning, so we have received confirmation and more importantly ticket numbers overnight.
Might sit on this for a day or two before I book hotels.

If so refer to this comment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/440646#comment-6994358
+1 voteBased on experience? Get out of Kuta and Legian and there is something for everyone in Bali.

+1 voteLooks like all the cheap seats from Sydney are gone, all the links are now showing $570 return or higher.
-3 votesIโve already booked accomodation. If Virgin donโt honour these prices Iโm spamming every review site with one star reviews. Mark my words Branson you rich mf.
+1 votethere was no price error from virgin itself. you prob will need to review 1 star for the website you booked your ticket from. goodluck

Just a word of warning to anyone at virgin scrolling through and deciding what to do moving forward ๐

For those who don't know much about mistake/error fares - you book as much as you can now.
If this rate is an error, it should have been identified by now and the agency should be making calls to let people know.
The longer the delay in letting those who booked know, the less ground they to cancel especially now that those who booked are booking hotels, transportation, activities.
Anyway, from the sounds of this, only a dozen or so tickets were issued so I think BYOjet will absorb the losses from this.
For those wondering esp BYOjet, I have booked my accommodation too, nice pool Villa.

@DrunkOnTheGoodLife: Good to know. I assume BYOJet can see where the sales were click through from (here), so making them aware that accomodation has been purchased and arrangements (LSL applies for) been made.
Great feedback. Thanks mate.

@Bellpop: I have booked several mistake fares previously;
The best one was about 7 years ago where you must depart Burma BUT could go anywhere in the world flying First Class return for like $500!! Obviously you had to make it to Burma first, many people including myself flew into Burma in the morning (spent the day there) and took the evening flight out.

@DrunkOnTheGoodLife: Omg that is so cool. Weโre u hanging out with ozbargainers in first class? Thatโs the ultimate ozbargain meetup ๐

Just received the tickets. Ozbargain killing me!!! Last time went to bali when Air Asia Business Class deal was posted and now this. Now someone please find error fares Melbourne to Sydney lol

Yes. Then Air Asia canceled mel-dps flight and gave option to re route. Did mel-kul-dps flatbeds. I paid roughly 800 bucks for three of is. The same flights we flee were approx 12k if booked then

They cancelled my booking as my booking did not go through to finalisation. Anyone else got the same message.

No, not yet anyway. But the credit card payment still says pending. Does anyone else see that?

Did u find this out via email? Or calling them? Iโve already booked accomodation and activities… so gonna be pretty pissed if they try any of that shit
