  • Obviously competing with the Qatar offer - Great Deal!

    • Singapore Airlines runs this every year for as long as I can remember.

      • Last time in January 2019. This is for the travel Click Frenzy.

    • Nice

Or just go with Korean airlines, complimentary for overnight connecting flight via Incheon.

      mind to elaborate more mate?

Stayed at Grand Hyatt Incheon airport the last time transit via Incheon.

Their spanking new 747-8s are brilliant to fly in.

        • Totally agree. Korean Air is our first choice airline. The seat pitch in the new 747 787's are so spacious.

          • @Taegukgi: No. I was referring to 747-8s

    • You no longer get the free night on all fare types. Asiana Airlines now have Economy fares that have 70% frequent flyer points and no free stopover, 100% ff points and no stopover and 100% ff points with stopover. You need to check the rules of the fare you are booking very carefully. Not sure about Korean Air but would strongly suggest to check fare rules.

Just utilised a $1 stopover deal last month and highly recommend it to others. For $1, you get 2 or 3 budget hotels to choose from. As I was only after the free entry to attractions, I picked a random one that had availability and didn't bother showing up as I had already booked accommodation elsewhere. For those interested, the "attraction" pass comes in the form of an EFTPOS-sized plastic card with a QR code on the back. Make sure you pick up the free chicken satay from Violet Oon - you get 4 massive sticks and we were allowed to take away rather than dine-in.

    • How do you get the card? Is it mailed out? Airport pickup? I assume you don't need to get it from the hotel.

Arrived at T2 and picked up our passes from the SIA counter per website instructions. I read somewhere (might've been ozb) that you can potentially get charged by the hotel for no-shows. But I churn thru credit cards so the card I'd used to book the $1 stopover had already been cancelled. YMMV. When we picked up the passes, we were also given a voucher that gives you a complimentary Starhub SIM card with $10 credit (swap voucher for SIM card at UOB).

        • Can I ask how the passes worked?? Was there a timeframe on them? I'm considering booking the accom for the last night of our stay but wonder if this affects the passes validitiy. Called SQ and they can't advise the details

          • @bwink: I only booked 1 night's stay via SSH so my passes were valid until midnight the day after my arrival. You simply present your pass to the ticketing office and they'll scan the QR code on the back of the card before issuing tickets to you. Prior to my trip I had envisaged that I would get a 'voucher' type booklet with a tear-out section for each participating venue. Was pleasantly surprised that all you need to carry around is the single card (pass).

    • Recommend to dine in Violet Oon. :)

  • 8 hour stopover overnight, is it worth doing this for some hours sleep and shower?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

I had 5.5 hrs stopover and customs didn't even let us leave the airport. 8 will be short but possible. Honestly you're better off sleeping in the airport to save time. You can shower at the pool

I had a 4 hour layover once and I just wanted to catch up with two friends waiting outside already. I told the officer we’re just going to have breakfast downtown and come back max 2 hours. I had to write “if I miss my flight it is my own fault” on the back of the immigration card before letting me go through!

  • i wonder if we can use this…heading to SG this weekend for a few days. We have booked the hotel so dont care about the hotel offer but keen on the free admissions. EDIT: just read the term and condition. $1 seems to only apply for single person only. Once i add a child in manage my booking (stop over holiday), price is more.

    • +1

Nope I think $1 is for twin sharing, if you're traveling solo it's $114 per night as pointed out below.

  • I need to stop being such a snob.

This deal isn't very attractive for 5 star hotels, particularly when adding breakfast. Swissotel Stamford is far cheaper when booking direct (for my dates) for 2 nights on a weekend with breakfast included, than the BSSH deal even after paying for the hop-on-hop-off bus.

Maybe OK for overnight in a 3 star.

Even the cheapest hotels are $76 (per person) for one night, so I can't even scam a cheap hop-on-hop-off bus ticket.

  • Guys first time doing this. We are a family of 3 (2 adults 1 child) so how do I go about this deal?

I am not interested in the accommodation but I would love to take advantage of the tourist attraction pass.

So when I choose to book a room, do I need to choose the triple share room ? And ia the attractions pass valid for only a day or during the course of my stay?

    Thanks in advance

    • After you have your booking, follow the instructions available in the original link at the top of this post.

The website will force you to book a room that has the same number of people staying as listed in your booking (ie 3 flyers = 3 peeps staying the night). I'm not sure if this applies for the child though. It costs nothing to try :-)

    • The validity of your attraction passes would depend on how many days accommodation you book as part of this stopover deal. In my case, I only booked 1 night so our passes expired at midnight the day after our arrival.

  • +7

    Twin-share (per person per night)
    $1*

    Single (per night)
    $114*

    Oh come on…

    • Not only that, but your $114 only gets you the free bus ride, not the extra tickets / freebies.

  • Does this also apply to code share flights? Such as Virgin flying SQ?

  • What a load of crap. If you are a family and have to get a triple the minimum price is $114, but you only get the free bus, not the extra free entry tickets unless you spend another $45 per night!

    • Yep…it pays to do research and know your prices.

I'll be booking a hotel direct that includes free breakast, and paying for transport costs myself. I've already seen most of the attractions that appeal to me, so won't be losing any sleep over paying for entrance to attractions for the 2 days I'm there.

  • This is an interesting option for those unable to source a $1 hotel:

    https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/au/plan-travel/packages/s…

I'll be there for 3 days, so looks pretty appealling.

  • This $1.00 stopover seem very uncertain how to interpret it.It states travel from 1mar to 12 sept.I rang singair as i am going to europe via singapore on 18 aug and claims i am not eligible as i am returning 25 sept and now where in the terms and condition does it state travel must be Completed within their travel dates.
    Did i interprete wrongly?

  • If we book few days stopover, can we still have $1 hotel stay?

    • It'll depend on availability (ie your travel dates) and the number of nights that you book your hotel thru the SSH package. From memory the price for second night onwards jacked up quite a bit (and it's likely to be $ per passenger). If you're on a budget, book a 1 night stay via this SSH deal then sort out your own accommodation for the remaining nights in Singapore.

  • Presumably it doesn't work with Krisflyer awards bookings?

    • Actually you CAN get the deal if booked on a Krisflyer ticket but must be on 618 stock.

Unfortunately I am flying back from Europe in June on a Velocity redemption with Singapore stopover and can't get this offer. :(

      cheers Peter

  • Is there a minimum transit time to get this deal?
eg if you arrive in the morning & fly out 11pm can you still get it?
Do you have to book a return trip, or is a one way sufficient? (eg coming back with a different airline)
