Fixing Broken Smart Lock

I bought Xiaomi Door lock last year. Had a nightmare installing it, been using it just as door lock with finger print without any automation. last night i when adjusting the latch i somehow messed up the wires which stopped the fingerprint scanner working. I changed the batteries with the new once i purchased from here and still the finger print scanner doesn't work, only the number pad works. when i woke up this mrng i noticed that all the new batteries are dead with no power. and lock stopped working since there is no power. i suspect the there is a power draining happening in the lock due to mess i made when adjusting. not sure what to do now. the new lock costs around $300 now. Since its a main door that got screwed up, i currently use the garage door which is not convenient. any suggestions for my current pathetic situation

small video of its current state (the ticking stopped when i adjusted the lock this mrng)

1) where i can repair this lock?
2) Replace the door with new mechanical lock

Edit- i placed the battery that was missing in the video. Lock now works but still finger print scanner is not working. As suggested below will look into wires with help of lock Smith. Thx a lot guys, will update once it's done

  • new batteries are dead with no power

Cant look at the vid at the moment but is your batteries shorting somewhere?

    • I don't think so. they are fitted in the right spot.

      • But is one of the wires carrying power between the batteries and the controller shorting somewhere?

        • I believe it might, as i was fiddling those wires when i was adjusting the lock. Not a electric guru, will try to look into wires tonight and shall update you

  • Do you have access to a multimeter?

    • Nope, googling now.

      • You googling what a multimeter is?

        • Yes, never used it.

          • @hopper: Why are you messing with the electronics if you don't know what a multimeter is?

It looks like you are missing one of the batteries in your video.
            What's the brand/model etc?

            • @endotherm: Last night i added the missing battery(because the screw was not fitted correctly in that spot so the battery cannot be placed, this was the case since 1 year) but i placed battery and lock works except the finger print

  • Why did you adjust it ?

    • Was adjusting the wires which wear coming out

  • You likely squashed a wire that is carrying power to the fingerprint scanner and it is grounding on the metal chassis and draining the batteries. if its easy to get apart it could be as simple as replacing a wire. This depends on the effort required to get apart while taking apart you could easily make it worse.
A lock smith might be able to fix it.

    • Thx for the reply, will try to find out the wire first, as they are all together winded up.
