  • Thanks op, could not decide on flavour so picked up variety pack for $25!

  • Added 2 x 250g to cart but the discount isn't applied (says total $49.98). Is this deal over?

    • go through to paymnt options and thats where discount was applied for me (about 5 mins ago).

      • +1

        Thanks! That worked.

  • +1

Thank you OP. Looking forward to Flair, Aroma and Fair Trade. Always on the lookout for good beans.

  • This 50% off offer only brings the price down to a normal expected price from a local roaster. Paying $24.99 for 250g of fresh roasted beans is insane.

  • It's a pity we still have some from Aldi and Costco discount last week. Otherwise will definitely give this a try.

Not going to pay anything over $30/kg. Tried many $40 - $60 ones and they don't taste 3 - 5 times better. Wouldn't mind trying any specialty coffees for $20 - $25/kg.

  • Is the Filter Grind a pretty course grind? Had issues with using too fine of a grind with my filters before :(

  • +1

1kg , Flair (full beans for Breville Oracle) ordered - can't wait (don't skimp on good milk people!) =) ..

    • +3

Milk?? Even a bad shot will taste acceptable if drowned in milk. The real test of bean quality is straight espresso.

  • +1

I notice you have an "organic" coffee. Is it certified? In the only sense that you as the roaster are a certified organic processor? Also, as of October 2018, I cannot find your company on the Australian Fairtrade company listing, are you licensed to use the Fairtrade logo?

    • We are certified fairtrade, not organic, although the organic is made using fully organic beans.

  • 2 questions:
Is this single origin? can the beans grind to Aeropress granules?

  • Op, just sent you a PM. It would be great if you could pick it up as I made a mistake with my order.

  • What are the darkest roast beans? I don't like lighter roasts, too sour.

  • Ordered, thanks for posting.

  • Hi OP. Just order sending you a message now to delay the delivery
    Order Number: 503-9358151-7174241

Thanks OP. Bought 500g of flair and viva with filter grind. Hopefully the grinds are medium fine. I will be using this coffee bean with my ocean rich filter machine. The best! peeps get on it ;)

  • Cheap is not always good (as un-ozbargain as that sounds :)
Padre Coffee (and others), are cheaper ($15 for 250g inc delivery) than the standard price for these beans, but superior quality and far more interesting flavour profiles.

    • $25 normally for 250g?? WTF?!

+1. Padre is my go to bean. I have no idea why people buy 1kg of coffee and get it ground only for it to go stale!

  • No need to buy the full 1k bag. Get the 4 pack of 250g for $25. Then only open what you need.

  • When this deal expire? and how /where to send a message to delay delivery by a week or two?

  • Can I still order today with 1 month delivery delay? I am still finishing beans from another seller…

  • Someone in Melbourne sign for a delivery 20 mins ago? That's what the tracking number I was given is telling me though I'm in Perth, so wondering if I got the wrong tracking # or someone got the wrong order.

(Have PM'd rep, was just curious. I think I just got wrong tracking # as I can see a ref # on the tracking now that is the order number after mine)

    • I just checked my order and it says it was delivered to someone in Eastwood NSW today (I am in Victoria)

      • Yeh I think they got the tracking numbers mixed up.

There is a ref number on the the tracking page which is the order number and probably won't match (not the Amazon order number but the 4 digit one from their system that they emailed)

They sent me the correct tracking after, it was one digit off, so try incrementing (or decreasing) by one and see if it has your order ref number.

        • Thanks…I tried changing the last digit but no luck. Will wait for a reply from the rep/the amazon store rep

  • Have tried Aroma first - not sold on it yet TBH.

Have tried it both as a double shot espresso - fine grind using my home grinder - and then today at work - course grind by hand using a Porlex Mini to then french press.

Not finding much complexity to the flavour profile, and not digging the aftertaste. Will play with it a bit more to be fair.

I have the variety pack, so will next compare with Aroma to see how that differs.

Anyone else tried their stash yet?

    Thanks for the quick shipping.

  • …update for those who missed out out on quick delivery….

Hey there, we just wanted to send you note about your order.
Bada Bean have been absolutely overwhelmed by the success of the Amazon promotion. Literally selling a ton of coffee!
That’s kept our roaster busy around the clock to get you the freshest beans out as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, it did lead to some late shipments and some packages using plain labels. Rest assured there was no compromise to the most important thing – the beans.
We truly appreciate your custom, and as a small gesture feel free to message us for a repeat of the deal on your next order.
    Jamie

  • Got my beans,

Flair and Viva. Unfortunately, the beans had a grind way finer than the required filter grind option that I chose. Completely over extracted and tasted extremely bitter, with no flavour profile. Really disappointed. I've gone out to Mr Hendricks and got myself some Padre beans. Them feels…

    • +2

I was browsing the comments to see how people like their coffee.
I ordered the the 4x250gr option, Flair was quite enjoyable, Mocha is so so, worse than the Lavazza coffee i get on half price sale at Coles $15, however the aroma is junk. I have never ever tried such burnt coffee that literally tastes like burnt charcoal in my mouth and gives very bad aftertaste. Need to try to Viva beans… I hope they don't disappoint otherwise it will be $25 for 250gr of coffee. Note to myself: Next time when spending more that $25 on 250gr of coffee better stick with Illy.
Anyone else shares my opinion or is it only me?

      • +1

I'm into the first bag - Aroma. You'll note my comments above - and I would tend to agree with you. The characteristics you've outlined are more obvious when taken as an espresso. It is more subtle as a french press, so not too bad for use at work.

That said, we shouldn't be looking for the silver lining. Will open Viva or Flair on the weekend and let you know my thoughts after I pull a few espresso shots!

Yet to try any as an aeropress either.

        • +2

I just opened the Viva bag. Wow in a bad way. I am so sceptical about the descriptions they've put up on their bags. To me, and i have quite a well developed taste, seems to be the same coffee beans just different baking time. The only drinkable coffee is Flair, Viva is so bitter and lacking any aroma I'd say even worse than the Aroma. What a waste of money will try to return these. Also there was a nice 6cm human hair suprise in the bag

          • +2

@Winston100s: tried to give the two bags to my mates as I have no response from Bada beans on Amazon. I don't expect to get anything in return but I shared my experience with them anyway. I passed it onto my mate and we made two magics and two espresso to try the Viva and Flair. It was flavorless, bitter and burnt tasting :( he didn't want them too. We cleared the cups and went and got a bag of dukes beans came back and tried again. The difference was 360.. ah well..

      • Hi Winston, sorry to hear that, Aroma is our bestseller with a high number of repeat orders. Sure we all have different tastes, thanks for sharing your feedback. Jamie

  • I still haven't received my beans, a bit too slow considering I ordered on the 19th. I can't even track the delivery.

    • try and see if you can cancel your order, terrible coffee except for Flair…

    • +1

agreed, mine have not arrived and i ordered long ago.

    • +1

My item still hasn’t arrived. The delay in delivery and failure to provide an ETA is poor service. I will be negging future Bada Bean deals to warn others about the pathetic delivery service the company uses (Fastway).

      • +3

Same, fastway is terrible to deal with. They apparently "attempted delivery" today. I was at home all day…

        • Same with mine when I finally followed it up they told me that I should call Safeway and get it redelivered.
They didn't put a card in my letterbox or put the tracking details on Amazon,

When I finally chased them up they told me "Oh did they leave you a card? you can call safeway to pick up the stale beans that you ordered on the 19th".

    • Hi Gamesmaster, thanks for the feedback, you weren't the only one with Fastway issues. We're currently reviewing options. Jamie

      • +1

Are your options to not use safe way? They have a 1.4 star rating on Google with 800+ reviews.
Companies like yours keep them afloat

  • My beans are yet to arrive. Fastway didnt deliver it for 3 days, and today it was sent back to the depot. More delays again…

    • Hi Farnkie, if you order hasn't arrived, message us via Amazon and I'll chase that up. Jamie

  • I just opened the aroma, first impression is it smells pretty dark roasted. I use Rocket Fausto grinder and VBM junior Expresso machine, not the top but these are no slouch. I make coffees with milk mostly but also enjoy long blacks and the occasional French press.

The beans were more towards burnt taste, not much chocolate feel or any thing that match the description on the package. I dusted a bit choco powder on top like cuppuccino to fix the choco taste/aroma. This bean reminds me of Vittoria beans from supermarket but a bit darker and fresher.

For $22 per kg I didn’t expected much and certainly the beans is about average. Certainly won’t pay full rrp.

Hi Andy, Aroma is our best seller and has a repeat customer base, but thanks for your feedback, we'll take that onboard. Jamie

      • +4

Just admit you hhad a burnt batch of coffee and had to find a way to sell it so you used Ozbargain. The coffee and roast is terrible, don't make excuses for something you have failed at. Also i had hair in one bag!

    • +1

Even Aldi's $13 coffee is better… Nothing to do with flavour preferences, except for flair, everything was bad

  • +1

Finally received my order yesterday. You really should look for an alternative for WA deliveries as Fastway are so slow (just not Allied Express, definitely the worst in my experience). Nearly 2 weeks, hate to think where they've been stored during this time. Even Auspost would be quicker.

Yet to try, ran out of beans last week so had to buy some others already.

  • +1

I ordered the morning of March 20. It said shipped the afternoon of March 22. ETA was March 29. It’s now April 2 and it still hasn’t arrived in Perth.

Bada Bean? No, just BAD BEAN.

    • Moving comment to general thread.

      • It arrived today, April 4. That's 15 days since ordering, 13 days in transit.

  • All, we hear you, there's issues with Fastway, especially on the longer runs ie Perth - feedback noted.

I'm currently onboarding us with Aus Post, if you have any other courier recommendations let us know.

    Thank you,

    Jamie

    • What’s the compensation for the delay and stale coffee?

      • The coffee's sealed and has been in transit for a maximum of 8 days. It won't be stale.

Raise your concern via Amazon chat and we are happy to discuss.

  • Got mine today via Fastway, no issues. Reviews for Aroma blend seem a bit mixed but will make my own mind up. I would suggest including the roast date on the pack, normally expect that when buying specialty beans.

    • +1

Agreed - is certainly an expectation from buyers these days that a roast date is displayed. It's also good if you get a few around a similar time and want to be able to prioritise the use based on that information. Let us know how you find the Aroma.

      • Noted, thanks Nubzy!

  • Mine arrived, the shipping wait was terrible, but the beans are pretty good. I got Aroma and they pour quite a nice shot. Would get them again if they were the same price, but i won't pay over $25 / kg for coffee!

  • I got 1kg of Aroma. Never tasted anything so bitter before. It’s been hours and my mouth is still bitter. Maybe I got a burnt batch?

    • Yeah they are bitter and one dimensional, not good for straight espresso but they make a good latte/cappuccino and produce heaps of crema.

      • +1

I used it for a latte. They were very fresh I’ll givr credit for that but I’m convinced they were burnt beans. Only good for compost as I don’t think I could even give them away.

        • +1

While I was pulling shots of "Aroma" my wife walked in asking what was burning ^^ It does have a burnt plastic taste to it.
