I had the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures, gotten the Velocity points, then cancelled the card. Can I now apply for this?

    • -4

if it was 18 months before, then sure

    • Yes, the ANZ Rewards card does not exclude you from the Frequent Flyer.

    Credit to PointHacks:

Will holding another ANZ credit card will make me ineligible for the bonus points?

This depends on the type of ANZ credit card that you hold. ANZ credit cards can be split into two categories.

The first is the Frequent Flyer category that is linked to Qantas Frequent Flyer, and consist of the following cards:

    ANZ Frequent Flyer Black
    ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum
    ANZ Frequent Flyer

The second is the Rewards category, consisting of the following cards:

    ANZ Rewards Black
    ANZ Rewards Platinum
    ANZ Rewards
    ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures

If you hold any ANZ Frequent Flyer card, you are unfortunately not able to take advantage of this bonus points offer. However, if you hold an ANZ Rewards card, then you are eligible to take advantage of this bonus points offer.

    • Awesome!

    • Are the low cost, low-interest cards in another category?

Are the days of $0 first year annual fee gone?

    • +1

Seems to be going that way

At least the cash back makes this $225..

    • +1

Hard to come by these days, st George card still on offer

      • yeah ive got the st george one for now but takes up to 90 days to credit the QFF points at which time you cannot close the card

    • If you go fro Platinum through Internet Banking ,there seems to be an offer of $0 for first year if $20,000 spent in a Year + $100 cash back with 65 000 QFFP,
So it is not $0 it is YOu get paid to earn points

      • So do they refund the fee once you spend 20k?

I am unable to find this promotion anywhere.

        • it is inside online banking under APPLY option

  • Pretty sure it used to be $3000 spend in 3 months. Now its $4000

    • Cashback used to be $150.

      • My last ANZ frequent flyer black, was first year fee free

        • Yes I wouldn't mind that being offered again.

        • same we are about to cancel it reaching the 12 months, but will miss the earning rate :(

        • It used to be 75k points, fee free. Happy with the extra 25k points for $225, better than par value if you use for flight redemptions.

  • $425 annual fee… What's the advantages of owning one of these cards?

    • +1

The signon bonus is worthwhile if you use them for some flights or even if you sell them for 1c/point (lower than market rate) = $1000

I can redeem a value of at least 2c per point flying international, sometimes almost 3c.

So the 100k points is worth over 2k for me.

In general though this card isn't that amazing outside of the sign on bonus.

      • I thought that not many Visa cards give more than 1 point per $ nowadays?

  • When does this offer end? Waiting for the 12 months to be over!

  • I applied for this card last week but still hasn’t been formally approved (I believe today it should) - I should get this offer yeah?

    • You should get whatever offer you applied for. Most likely the 120k for 7.5k spend. Depends when this deal went 'live'

      • Fair enough. I forgot the offer at the time but if it is 120k even better. Thanks for the reply.

        • Well big difference to having to spend 4k or 7.5k, for me at least. Plus when you chase them up if the points aren't coming through you tell them which deal you signed up for. 90% of the time they have no idea

  • There's no 75 status credit this time?😭😭😭

Received the card but there's no mention in the welcome pack of the bonus points/annual fee discount, can anyone else who's received the welcome pack confirm or deny?

  • Received card today. Just need to activate. Rejected from the citi bank one.

  • Anyone received the bonus points yet?

    • Not yet

      • How long did it end up taking if you dont mind me asking?

    • How long did it take yourself?

      • if i recall, it's on the 3rd or 4th billing cycle even if you hit it on your first

  • +1

anyone received the 100K points yet? How long did it take?
Its been a month since i used up the $4K but no news.
Am hoping it will be credited at next credit card cycle.

Hey all, I was told by ANZ staff that if you have a home loan with ANZ and have the ANZ Breakfree package (allowing you to link 1 credit card to your Mortgage account without any annual fee), you cannot apply for one of these cards and get the QFF points bonus. It's either you get the annual fee waived, or you sign up via the promotion and get the points bonus.

However realistically if one was to apply via the promotion, get the bonus points by making the qualifying purchases, what's then to stop them calling up ANZ and asking for this card to be linked via the Breakfree package - and then getting a pro-rata reimbursement of the annual fee?

    Has anyone done this before?

    • Nothing actually, but you will need your mortgage broker to do the form for you, before the actual card (that is mandatory linked with your breakfree account) is sent.

I did it at the time with the ANZ Travel Rewards. Cos it had the bonus at the time of 80K points, so signed up for that via online, approved and got it sent. At the same time the Breakfree package was being done, and then signed the form to get it linked (but before they physically sent out the original platnium card that was attached). And got the annual fee waived + bonus. It's just tricky timing is all.

Can this be combined with 300k home loan offer? Cheers

  • Unsure if this has already been mention but, in order to get your two complimentary lounge passes. Remember the following instructions listed under point 4 of the terms and conditions:

You are entitled to two Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations in any 12 month period. Call the ANZ Personal Concierge on 1300 580 765. They will ask for a) First 8 digits of you card, b) Qantas Frequent Flyer Number + other personal details to verify your identity.

Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations will then be available via the Complimentary Invitations Portal

*This might seem simple, but I missed this initially :)

  • Just applied last night. It seems that the bank now asking for proof income in our bank statement rather than only from payslip. Anyone experience that?

  • Is this the best deal on the market currently, considering I am not eligible for any Amex deals since I already have Amex!! Quick inputs please…

  • noob question…with QFF, can the classic rewards ticket be booked only under the account holders name or for other family members as well? TIA

    • Yes, you can book classic rewards tickets for family members under your own QFF account and you don't have to be on the booking either.

      • Cheers mate

  • If you have mortgagee - what would your chances of getting approved for this card?

    • Need more factors…

      • What factors do they consider? Income, home much you earn?

        • Income, outgoing cashflow, debts, credit score, other cards held, length of employment etc…

  • Taking awhile for me this time…

    annual fee of $425

    Good offer?

    • +3

      sounds very good.

except for the annual fee. might want to mention that.

    • Annual fee?

    • +1

      Sounds very very good

    • +3

      Effectively 225 annual fee.
      425 less 200back

Do you value 100k points at 1.1 to 1.3c per point?

Looks like free money of $800+ if you sell points

      • I though points were worth about 0.6c?

        • +1

If you are after flight rewards, definitely worth more than that. If simply redeeming them for physical items, no value.

    • +3

Fees in title ? $425 is a fair amount

    • +2

This deal has been in the running for quite some time now..

    • +7

      Used to be 120k points.

    • +1

What is the minimum income required ?

      • +1

It was 75k minimum income last time I applied.

      • +1

Min $15,000 credit on card, so probably $75,000 income

    • Expires when?

    • This deal has been around for a while now. I'm sure it has been posted before?

    • +1

Only thing I don't like the card is the lounge program that comes with it. It's virtually useless.

      • Veloce that comes with it is useless. It also comes with 2 x Qantas lounge vouchers.

I just got approved for one. The verification procedures are much more of a pain now than a few years ago.

    • -1

I'll wait for the no annual fee version of the deal to come by I think. Still a good deal if you don't have other cards

      • Are there any 0 fee offers atm?

      • +2

Hasn't happened so far this year or most of last year either :(

        • there were several no fee / minimal annual fee cards last year, e.g. the AMEX Explorer (where the travel credit offset the annual fee), the ANZ black (but that one let you choose between ANZ points or QANTAS, the past few months all of the deals have been QANTAS only)

i too am waiting for a good Amex deal this year

    • +1

Cancelled this card about 6 month ago. Will I be applicable for this offer again?

      • Usually need to wait 1 year, assuming you still don't have any other ANZ credit cards.

      • No, 12 months

    • +1

anyone know how you can get the fee waiver if you're on the breakfree loan?

      • yes by calling the bank and asking

    • I have lots of QF points myself from travelling and card offers over the years but I'll never get one of these expensive annual fee cards basically in exchange for QF points. It's like deliberately buying up into a dodgy hyper inflated Zimbabwe currency …

    • +2

This used to be free with 75 qantas status credits.

  • I can’t see how the bank would be willing to approve someone earning $75k and having a $15k minimum credit limit, surely you’d need a higher income.

  • +1

Time to get job that pays 75k

  • Has anyone who applied and met the criteria got their points yet? How long does it normally take? Met mine about 2 months ago and still nothing

Edit: received the $200 cash back already though

    • Weeks ago now, already cancelled

      • How long did you get them from meeting the spend criteria?

        • End of the following month statement

          • +1

@Fancydancer: Ok, thanks. Could possibly come at the end of my statement this month then.

            • @mcargy08: Hopefully yes, I did full spend in one hit on e-gift cards

          • @Fancydancer: @Fancydancer - I’ve met my minimum spend 1 week into owning the card.

Are you saying it will come in the first bill or the second one?

  • +1

Cashback increased to $275 and 120,000 QFF points

Wow this has been a painful application process for this card. Submitted my app Dec 11th and have had multiple phone calls and repeated info requests for additional items. Was on hold for over 2 hours yesterday. I am oh so close to telling them to stick it and withdrawing the app.

    • Ohh geez. Complete opposite to mine. I was approved within a day and had my card within 3 days.

Stick out it if you have the patience, such a good deal.

  • Anyone know the Expiry for this deal?

  • The deal is now back to 100,000 points and $150 back. Thank goodness I applied 2 days ago!

Edit: Looks like they changed the headline but not the fine details. Details still say 120,000 point and $275 back.

    • :(
i cancelled my westpac black card today and was about to apply for this one and noticed the reduced cashback
