Getting the phone into hands before the P30 becomes an issue. Great marketing ploy and a great price for consumers. Win win imo

    • P30?

Huawei P30 will be out in 2 weeks

    Plus one for khanda

  • +1

I heard this is the most popular variant of the s10 series. Why has this dropped in price?

    • +1

Perhaps to convince people who were tossing up between p30 and s10

      • -1

..and iPhone XS 64GB Space Grey $1392.79 + Delivery [50% extra = More$ is Less functionality]

    • +2

Where did you hear that? I'd be very surprised.

Usually it's always the + model… And I would assume the regular S would be not far behind that.

    • 5g version was just announced

    • +1

Probably because edge displays are shht.

    • +12

It's just a screen, what can be ugly about it?

      • +1

no screen would have been a nice feature IMHO.

    • +1

      Show us your iPhone then

  • Will pull trigger on dual SIM model when it reaches under 800

  • Waiting for this this to hit $800, preferably at JB.

    • +5

      Why at JB?

      • Really good and easy to deal with if you have issues I guess - faster then online and at least for me I've never had issue with jb staff.

        • -1

If you buy from Samsung you can get Samsung care+

      • Because mobileciti after sales service is shocking (if you don't live in Sydney)

        • Can't you just go straight to Samsung? You have the right to.

  • So nice a deal; so so tempting.

Shame no Cashback Rewards on eBay though.

    What happened there?

    • +1

Agreed. While not as good, they do have flybuys points now.

  • -2

Good deal, So tempting for SD855, i dont know why waiting for One plus 7

    • +6

Think this one here is using the Samsung Exynos processor

  • +1

Shame they are using that crappy Samsung processor. I would have considered this if it was the Snapdragon 855 (like the US version).

    • Which S10 grey import version is using 855?

      • Hong Kong, you can get it for 865~ using the same coupon

    • The Exynos got better battery results in some cases

      • +1

It processor dies faster and has poor camera performance.

        • Dies faster? What do you mean?

  • +1

This might explain why the S10 is cheap on launch.

    • +1

LoL. This phone and the other s10 variants are hardly cheap.

      • This man speaks the truth.

  • i am thinking can we still take advantage of the trade in promotion on top of the 999 samsung offer. that is old phone value +200 easily make it below 799.

    • anyone know if this price available at samsung retail store as well cos if i want to do trade in, have to go with samsung itself

    • No I checked at a store, you can't combine the discounts.

edit; didn't realise the official Samsung store price was also discounted.

      • +1

Ok thanks. So the store is still selling at 1199 today? saveed my trip to local store. I will try the online trade see if it works. As the current price is 999 and the trade-in promo is on. I feel like it might work. A 6xx s10e would be a good deal.

        • No sorry I asked them when it was a discount on the education portal, but now that the normal store has updated the price to $999, the trade-in bonus might also work. So it might be worth a try in-store.

          • @Mister Popo: I called support, they told me it is online price only, maybe in store can do the same price who knows. I prefer tradein in store, much easier. They do not have a direct phone number I can find for local store and it is 50 mins return drive. That's why I wonder if anyone check with store today about the price.

        • Can also buy Samsung care+ if you buy from them online.

          • @onlinepred: Ok so it's like insurance, you pay almost 360 for swap once, 480 for another.within two years.

            • @ce5himm: No 229 for the plan, $129 for a swap. $129 for another.

      • best you can do is take the 999 price online and then do the trade in there. you cannot do the trade in via the education store. this is what the online chat person told me

    • +1

Did that today, got a S10e instore for $799 by trading in a broken Galaxy note4 which could not power and was essentially dead and worth $0. However since it is an eligible model they still took it and applied the discount.

Sydney Store - $200 Trading value is until tomorrow i believe, after that it's gone.

      • +1

        Well done.
My SG7 runs extremely well; best mobile I have ever had, but not eligible. Logic hey.

        • That should be eligible though i have S7edge but didn't trade it in as i wanted to keep it.

However if it's an international they wont take it.

      • Thanks for the heads up, $250 + $200 for my p2xl. $550 for a s10e is pretty good!

      • How? Because that model is only worth $35 with no damage. https://www.samsung.com/au/tradeup/

  • Aparently great phone!

  • +2

I wish they'd just pony up and pay the royalties and use the SD855 everywhere. Would have been a great buy but too hesitant with the Exynos.

But still, let's see how the Poco F2 and alleged budget Pixel line shape up.

  • -4

Pixel 2XL is better and cheaper

    • +3

Use to have p2xl and I believe Samsung makes best mobile screen yet.

      • -5

        And poor cameras.

        • +4

Poor? Really? You sit there analysing photos after you take them? I call bs mate. All new phones take great photos. The p30 Pro is the best right now if you want to buy the best, but really any phone works be great. Pixels can't take wide angle rear shots and can't do macro, they don't even have optical zoom. So they might take great shots in some scenarios, but overall not that great.

Got mine priced matched for $882 at JBHIFI in Perth. Coming from an iphone.. it's taking some getting used too.

    • +2

What’s your thoughts I’m in the same
      Boat about to pull trigger

      • +1

        Pull it.

      • +2

Just moved from iphone 8 to s10 plus (couldn't justify spending $2000 plus on xs max), apart from sometimes unresponsive onscreen fingerprint, everything is fine. Samsung ui is clean, and if you dont like app drawer, there's option on menu to get rid of it, so all your apps appear on home screen only. I think app drawer is the most confusing part for people who are just move from ios.

      • +1

Well heres a list of the things I've noticed so far… 1. Bluetooth music (in car) sounds a lot worse. 2 Coming from a iphone 7 where I can use pretty much any USB 3 port to charge my phone in 1 hr, this you need a specific fast charge port otherwise it takes 5hrs. 3 No screen recording (built in). 4 My reception is worse in my house with same sim. 5 Last night i took a lot of pics at a work mini golf function but majority came out blurry so u need to be extra still (the wide angle is cool but really more of a gimmick the quality is really warped). 6 Notification's are really unclear. There's lots of little things that are irritating too like the phones own 'settings' area has built in third party bloat trying to get you to sign up for this n that allow deny, allow deny, go to change your wallpaper and theres prices on them.. things like that just really need refining imo.

        • +3

Cooking from iPhone you will notice these things, it's worse going android to iPhone. Just takes time to get used to android

    • +2

JB price match deals with eBay code? Good to hear, never try that before

      • +1

Yeah don't say can u price match ebay? Say can u price match mobile citi, then u can show there a Australian seller with local stock etc. Then hit em with well there having 10% off atm and show them the check out screen with code applied.

        • +1

You are lucky then. For my local jb, staff check on their computer not based on what I show them, so I can not play the trick.

  • +1

Can somebody who upgraded from S9 please comment on the fingerprint scanner usability/sensitivity?

  • +1

How phone manufacturers desperately try to mask the camera circle/notch on the promotional photo. It’s almost as if they are admitting it’s ugly. Only they aren’t.

    • Everyone does it, even apple and Google.

  • Very tempting…

  • Should I get this or wait for the P30? Which has a better processor? Would be buying it for playing games.

    • This has a better graphic processing even if it an exynos.

  • +1

Any chance of a similar % discount for S10?

  • Anyone know if officeworks will price beat this?

    • Nope

  • How long do these guys take to ship, ordered sunday night and still hasn't dispatched with priority shipping.

    • Cancel it, buy from Amazon

      • Amazon says 4 days postage.
