Second hand at home exercise bikes?

Hey all

Just wondering if any suggestions for at home exercise bike. I’ve had a look at some at rebel etc seem a bit frail. I’m tempted to go for a second hand commercial grade bike (eg technogym / matrix brand) for around $1k. Typically these come from big chain gyms upgrading their equipment.

Just seeing if anyone had any suggestions of good bikes that will last a while good quality. Anticipate about 5 hours use/week mod of steady state and high intensity.

Any advice appreciated :)

A friend purchased an ex-gym Technogym Excite 700 Visio recumbent bike for $750 at local auction; The one with the digital TV screen.

I later saw the same ones retail at a 2nd-hand gym supplier for 3k… eBay and gumtree are your best bet.

    • Thanks that’s heck of a deal for that bike!

    Cardio equipment, definitely commercial.

    Strength equipment, definitely commercial.

    Flooring, definitely commercial.

Actually, all gym goods should just be commercial. Getting the motivation is hard enough. Working out on chrome plated plastic crap is just not on.

highly consider opting for a 2nd hand smart trainer/2nd hand cheap gumtree bike combo, accurate power (power meter) and access to third party apps (Zwift) which offer structured training programs and virtual races.
Wahoo kickr, Tacx neo and jetblack smart trainers are what i recommend and training with power and heart rate is essential
