I bit the bullet last week and paid $18 for this udemy course on 3D printing design for dummies using the free s/w fusion 360. I'm halfway through and its good. I saw today that it has dropped $4. Better than nothing so not a bad time to learn some new skills.

Good course Fusion 360 is the best free s/w to learn for designing 3d items if that's a bit challenging check out "Tinkercad" at https://www.tinkercad.com
By Autodesk as well, the difference between the two is 360 is parametric
    Tinkercad is not.

    • Meaning?
      (See below comment too) thanks

  • Bought my pensioner Dad a 3D printer for Xmas. He wanted a hobby away from power tools and machinery. He loves it.
I'm wondering if this is something good for him?

    • F360 is great. There r free videos on the Autodesk website and YouTube to get started. I hope one day they don't start charging for hobbist use.

    • I reckon the course is great. You follow his step by step instruction to design 10 things from scratch and by doing this you learn all the tricks. I was getting sick of always looking in thingaverse for stuff to print. I have ideas that i want to print so i have to learn the design s/w. For $14 its is a no-brainer IMO.

  • Too late. Back to $17.99
