  • this or Boost…?

    • I think it depends on the signal where you live. I would go for the cheapest if Signal is good. I have one sim on catchconnect no problems, works great

  • Just in time, cheaper than Kogan and yearly data is nice.

  • i will buy 3 vouchers. do i just receive 1 cashback? anyone knows?

  • +5

Just had a chat with CatchConnect online. They have confirmed the include 500 international minutes is for the entire year and not per month.

  • +3

I have Catch and they suck. I'm going back to Kogan, no joke.

    • How's that?

    • +1

Agree. 1Mbps download speed around Melbourne CBD. 2Mbps if I'm lucky.

      • +2

are you serious?I am on kogan and get 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps in melbourne CBD.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Just signed up for the yearly plan.

  • +13

The deal will expire at 11am 29/05/2019.

    Source: live chat.

    • If I purchase at 28/05, do I still have 30 days from purchase date to activate?

      • +2

I just called them as I was concerned about receiving a sim before the promotion ends. She assured me that once purchased I have 30 days from purchase to activate.

  • Bugger, my Kogan expires 31/07

    • still works out alot cheaper then going with kogan even if you factor in the lost month im in the same boat as you and will prob change over with this 30 days after the 28/05

  • Can I pay it with my Catch account credit?
I have some account credit left

  • +1

when deal expire? considering signup for my household next month

  • Damn I still havent activated my $14.90 / 90 day plan, would have just bought one of these and saved the hassle.

  • This offer is available to new services only. :(

    • Port out and back in. I will be. (Free Telstra sim)

      • Feels worth it hey. I’ve found Optus very similar to telstra in Brisbane. The network is surprisingly good.

  • +2

Was going to port 2 accounts from Kogan from Boost. Now moving to Catch.

    Done!

    • +1

That $150 80G 365 plan? I was going to do as well. Just a couple of days, haha!

  • My current Catch Connect plan expires on the 30th of June, but I'm probably gonna renew with CC before the promotion expires on the 31st of May. Just wondering if it's as simple as porting out then porting back in? Or will I not count as a new customer because my plan hasn't expired?

  • $99($89 after catchreward)! Cheapest ONE YEAR plan met up to now! WOW!

    • +1

$15 cashback on Shopback brings it down to $84 :)

  • Does Catch have an android mobile app to track data usage and stuff? I just ported to Boost. Was going to move missus across as well until I saw this…

    • +1

As far as I know there is no app. I have iPhone and no app, however I check on website very simple. It tells me how much data has been used so far /left

    • +1

I have used Catch Connect plans for a couple of times when they were in special. It's not like Kogan or Boost that have apps. There is no app,no sms checking for balance check/management. Only website/login method for balance check/management. But iphone safari is ok for using as well.

    • +2

Yeah the website is pretty good on data usage

  • Does anyone know what Cashrewards discounts apply to which plan?

    [Edit]

    Ok, so the:

    $99 = $10 cashback ($7.42/m)
    $135 = $15 cashback ($10.00/m)
    $170 = $16 cashback ($12.83/m)
    $205 = $20 cashback ($15.42/m)

  • +2

If you have Unidays, the 10% off works if you're purchasing from Catch directly!
Gives a better discount than cashback for the $170/$205 plan and you get the discount upfront. Should also be able to stack with discounted gift cards unlike with cashback :)

  • I have 13 days left on my son's 90 day plan. How easy is it to port out and to where and how much the cost will be? Is it worth the hassle or should i look for a better plan some where else like Kogan, Amaysim or boost?

    • Best deals right now. Easy to port, no hassle, no cost. Kogan have fallen behind, Boost is good but this out does what they have to offer. Of course depends on how much data your son requires.

  • Would jump on this if not for the dozen or so half price SIM prepaid kits from Coles I have in my hands

  • +1

We are thinking of transferring 2 numbers using this deal, does that mean we can have 2 times Cash reward? Using same cash reward account?

    • +1

      I want to know too

      • Me too. TA?

        • +2

Hi guys. It's fine to use the one CR acct provided each SIM is a new service as per the terms :)

          (1) Cashback is eligible only for a new service.

          (2) Cashback is ineligible when using coupon code/s not listed on Cashrewards.

          (3) Cashback is ineligible on recharges to an existing service.

          • @tightarse: Thanks TA. So will do the 2 separate transactions through CR to make it easier…

            • +4

@s0805: Remember, a new click for each purchase. Have a great Easter :)

    • I bought 3 on Thursday arvo (3 separate transactions). Only one of those has come through via email confirmation. I'm guessing the others will next week.

  • For those who received $15 off $60 spend, you can get $15 off these half price deal. Save waiting and not tracking cash backs. I used gift cards to get some extra discount, so less than $110 for 80GB 365D deal. Similar to Kogan deal Last year!

  • How long before you get counted as a new service again? I ported out from Catch Connect in January.

    • +1

Its immediate (few people have confirmed this)

  • I want to change from Kogan to Catch, because Catch is cheaper for me.

But I am concerned about the network coverage and speed. How can I check it? I currently live near Monash Uni.

Kogan has poor coverage in Melb CBD metro and near South Yarra station. Also sometimes in my house.

    • +1

Buy a $4.90 Catch sim and give it a go

      • Thanks.
There is time limitation for me. I have Kogan until 10 May.

  • Do they sell sims at woolies or coles etc? Just realised my lebara 6 month deal expires tomorrow.

    • I don’t think they are sold anywhere (not sure 100% but I have never seen in shops). You might be better off recharging a small amount on Lebara to get by or move to some cheap offer for a month and then go to catchconnect

  • +1

Thanks OP best deal! Bought 2, one for me and my wife.

I got a porting question. I'm with Optus (pre paid) at the moment. Do I need to port my number to another carrier before Catch Connect to maintain the same number?

    • +1

You can port your current Optus number straight to Catch Connect. However, be aware that transfers between shared networks can take a few hours, even up to a few days. Hopefully it’ll be quick :)

      • +1

        Thanks for your assistance. 👍

  • +3

Wow so on 29th there is 10% off at post office! This for me means:
    $170 -10% using UNiDAYS discount= $153.
$150 Gift card at post office for $135 +$3 left= &138. If I get 3% ShopBack if will mean less than $135 for 1 year of unlimited calls and 17gb a month.
Catchconnect is beating any other 1 year deal. Will be hard for
Kogan and Lebara to match this .

    • From some earlier comments, apparently if you use gift cards you cannot claim the cashback? Can anyone confirm if this is correct
I'm also considering waiting for the AusPost discount

      • No normal supersized cashback, maybe 3% via shopback. However if you are using giftcard I don’t know if it will be tracked. For me as I have unidays using also gift cards will save me heaps more than cashback.

  • Does anyone know when the Shopback Deal expires? The Cash rewards deal expires on the 30th of April according to the app.

  • i already ported out months ago and how come on dashboard still show Service number 04xx xxx xxx "check it out" and shows Active…? setup new account? i'm abit confused about this.. is this mean i'm still old customers?

looking at 1 throw away for my cousin came here from overseas and myself in 2 months

what you guys do with port in>port out>port in..?

    • That’s strange I just moved the number to Lebara and disappeared from catchconnect

  • +2

So what do the experts consider to be the best offer between this one and the "Boost" deal being offered by Coles tomorrow?

Looking at a 12 month deal for my Mum, so that I dont have to worry about porting her in & out & confusing the hell out of her 🙏

    • +1

This one works out cheaper if you get gift cards from post office, or cashback. So I would go with this one.

  • ok, so in a moment of not using my brain,
ive never had a catch service before

my phone plan ran out last night, I had a 1 month catch sim lying aroung
    I activated it
meanwhile last week I ordered one of these 12 month sims,

it says for new customers, will I be able to use the new sim when it arrives?

    • +1

You'll need to port out and back in. Get one of the free Belong or Telstra sims

      • cool got it thanks,

so hypoheticaly if i try and activate without porting out, it will just reject it?

        • If you are activating a new number no need to worry about porting out then in. You only need to port out then back in if you want to keep your existing number.

  • You can also get cash back into your raiz account through raiz rewards up to $14.70 with these plans.

  • Hi friends,

I'm thinking of purchasing this $15 90-day prepaid plan and continue to port out and port in for as long as the deal runs (seems like it will be for a while). I've never ported out and in before so could someone please tell me everything about porting out and in? even how much hassle it involves.
From my understanding you would have to port out (transfer your catch connect number to another SIM card of a different service provider like telstra or vodafone) and then port back into catch connect.

I am currently with lycamobile and have a scratched SIM in which they gave me a new SIM with a different number and all I had to do was activate that new SIM and transfer my phone number over. This here is all internal, not involving other service providers at all. Another question related to porting out and in for this 90 day plan is can't this method be done by catch connect internally? For example, buy a brand new SIM with the $15 90 day plan (much like a new customer) and then transfer your existing catch connect number to this new SIM.

Also, when buying a new 90 day plan to port back into Catch Connect, would you have to create a new account with a new email again or can you use your existing account and its corresponding email?

Please be as detailed as much as possible. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

    • To be safe you should always port out to another provider maybe even check afterwards once the port is successful to cancel your existing account.

Lots of people will go to another plan / promotion for a month and then come back. Others may just get a $2 sim, transfer out and back asap.

If you don't care about your number then just sign up fresh each time.

It's unlikely you will be a 'new customer' if you're just setting up a new sim and keeping existing number with the same identical provider.

You should probably be ok to use the same account and email again once you've successfully ported out (and maybe cancelled your old account).

      • how you cancel old account?

  • Thinking about buying the max data plan but don't usually use that much data.

Has anyone recharged with a lower 30day plan in the past to use up data remaining for these plans?

I guess the question is really do unused data rollover upon recharge?

Hi guys, where can i find this: Catch gift cards will be 10% off @ Australia Post: 29th April - 5th May.?

    • +1

Page 8 of the current catalogue

      • thanks so much, will buy on Mon!

      • thanks, the card purchased from post office will work for this plan? have a chat with catch online, but they are not sure …

    • This sounds like an excellent deal. And I'm aware that previous comments have said gift cards are OK if purchasing from www.catch.com.au. But their Gift Card Terms & Conditions (from https://www.catch.com.au/gift-card/) explicitly say it's not allowed:

Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase Catch Connect services.

      So I'm hesitant.

      • Wait a minute…Guess I have to revisit this post later today.

  • a bit confused guys,
i just received my sim today, I sillyly activated another 30 day sim 3 days ago,

the letter says you must actviaet within 30 days of purchase date, or when promo finishes

    promo finishes 30/05
the letter doesnt have a date

or am I worrying about nothing?

  • +2

I noticed for today only you can get a $15 catch voucher if you by it from

    https://www.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-365-day-mobil…

Also you can combine that with cashback of 2.8%

    • sorry, where can i get that voucher, couldn't find it?

      • Expired. Was only for 27/4

        • I see, thanks

    • aupost has 10% of catch gift card, will it work?

      • austpost have 10% gift card? i wonder this aswell..how you do it.

        • +4

Purchased 4 x $50 gift cards from Auspost this morning (No $100 cards left on shelf so got 50s instead)
I purchased the 375gb plan and done a split payment ($200 on gift cards, remaining $5 using paypal)

So yes it does work !

    • Did not get the voucher til now although purchased on 27/4

EDIT: apparently mobile plans were excluded from the $15 voucher offer

  • +3

Someone kind enough to take one for the team and buy the giftcard from auspost to see if it works?

  • anyone have issue with porting? i have problem port out from Catch Connect to Voda, Voda claims Catch Connect have some issue which make porting take longer…considering having this for my household but my most concern are porting "CANT LOSE PHONE NUMBER"

    • I ported to Lebara no problem

  • @ ing around at catch connect .
