Title has now been updated with the price

  • 25kmh maximum on easy terrain is a little bit slow, isn't it?

  • +3

Yes, the bike has capacity to go faster but it is limited to 25km/h due to Australian regulations. But you do get strong aceleration up to that speed and going up hills.

  • Any first-hand experience feedback from ozbargainers?

    • +3

Yes, I bought one during the previous sale. Was a bit worried to be honest, the weight put me off and I had no idea what brand this was. But I was truly impressed by the build quality when I got it. The weight is not an issue when riding because of the motor, but you will need to brake earlier. You get used to that and then it’s all good.

25km/h is perfectly fine. Remember that this is maximum it will “assist” you, you can just pedal more if you want to go faster. The acceleration is brilliant and very linear, you learn to overtake everyone when the lights go green. I got it for going up hill on the way home. My hill is very steep, I struggled on my old bike. It is a breeze on this bike, I grin every time I glide up the hill, it seems so weird to be able to climb the hill so easily.

The rest of the bike is top notch, metal pedals, disc brakes, quality tyres and seat. I even like the seat post! Even the bell is amazing, you’ll know what I mean when you try it. Haha, best bike I’ve ever had.

The battery lasts me just over a week commuting to work and back everyday. I think I get a range of about 80km. But this will depend on how much you stress the motor. I’m sure I could get way more if I didn’t have a hill to climb. Plus, I only pedal the barest minimum to get the motor to work for me. Hehe.

The only issue I had was that the front brake disc was a little warped when i put it together. I think this isn’t unusual though and you may need to true up the disc a little yourself. That was the one and only issue.

I have to say this is the best value electric bike right now. I had considered many stepthru electric bikes because of my budget. But to be able to buy a bike like this for $1k, I couldn’t believe it. You won’t regret it!

      • Thank you for your detailed feedback. I think I will be fine with the range because I need it only to get me from home to train station and back.

Was contemplating to get Xiaomi electric bike for a while and haven't pulled the trigger yet.

How do I know which size is the best for me? Reading the chart is a bit confusing. 26" seems to fit those with height of 160 - 188 but 27.5" fits those with height of 155 - 185??

I’m 165cm and got the 26”. Good fit for me, I have the seat post about 1/3 out, if that helps.

If you’re 180cm or more, probably get the 27.5”. Or you can ring them. I found them to be very helpful when I rang them.

I just bought a Giant Quick E+ e-bike for around 3k. It's awesome for commuting to work. Similar stats, 250W motor, 500Wh battery. Considering the price on this one is a third, is not bad value. You can get other e-bikes at this price point too, so shop around.

E-bikes are the biggest growth area in bikes, selling like hotcakes in the EU.

Not sure this is much of a bargain, it's off the RRP, lots of retailers sell less than RRP.

It's $80 more than it was in January when I decided I'd hold out… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/435344

Not convinced by the weight (about 26kg), range ("30-90km" on a 468Wh battery), low warranty (1 on electrics, only 2 on frame!) nor the feel of a hub motor.

I'm personally holding out for a Bosch/Shimano crank motor (with cadence and torque sensors, better range per battery capacity - about 125km on a 400Wh battery). They tend to be fitted to bikes that are lighter overall (around 20kg) and with 10 years+ warranty on the frame. Yes, much more expensive, but should last much longer, too, and be more useful given the range and riding feel. Just food for thought, not voting down this.

  • I bought this bike from previous deal. It is a quality ebike. Easy to deal with the vendor. The packaging could be better but nice overall (small scratches). Battery and motor are top notch. Good value for this price.

  • Discount code worked initially this morning then when i tried to finalise the order got message saying it wasnt valid
