Cryptocurrency

Hi guys!
Do you think it makes sense now to invest in cryptocurrency? Namely, investment in Bitcoin Ethereum and ICO.

Before you invest in anything you should do your research to see what it is and what future it likely has. In which case you could answer your own question. You have no idea if what people suggest to you in a forum is based on anything, they might only know as much as you do.

^This. Here's a good rule of thumb for any venture involving money: if you're not fully across how it works, the people who are will gladly accept your donation.

    Bitcoin Cash.

You should never invest in anything you do not fully understand

    • Yet that's exactly what a bulk of the market does..

From your pic I gather that you are all-in on Dogecoin. Such investment, wow.

Crypto is pure gambling. If index tracker funds are low/conservative investments then crypto sits on the other extreme end. With crypto only invest what you are 100% happy to lose and you will be fine.

LOL That was a wild ride for me, mined and trade up to 20K then BAM crash now holdings worth nothing.

To answer your question no. Looking at BTC price big buy early april, good old wild west pump and dump groups broke resistance finally. Problems with BTC hasn't been solved and altcoins no adoptions.

No such thing as investment in cryptocurrency, its speculation (gambling) pure and simple.

  • The best way to invest in crypto is to take profits out as soon as there's a significant increase. I bought xrp at $.05. I kept taking profits on the rise at $.50, $1, $2, $2.50. Then it crashed, so my original investment that I still hold, has not cost me anything.

That only works over long distances of time, or a general bear market.

Crypto is still in a bull market, despite April Fools, and so that tactic won't work. Maybe if you got in during the 2010-2013 run, or even the 2014-2017 run.

My best guess was to wait around this time to invest/gamble. I've had to change my outlook. We're in a USA/AUS recession, which seems to be getting quite dangerous for the next 6-18months. That might mean Crypto currency value tanks to $1, or it might get a weird boost to $20k/$100k.

So if you're feeling lucky, go for the 2020-2022 run.

      • Yeah, I don't have time to watch it on a daily basis, rather invest and hold for a few years like I did with xrp. If I was daily trading it wouldn't be in crypto.

      username checks out

    • I'm on the xrp bandwagon. Not that I follow it closely anymore. Do you have hope for it. I
I do think know why but it's the only crypto I think has any chance of a future ( with a slightly maybe to Bitcoin )

Saying that I don't care either way. I've already made a shitload off it in Dec 2017 and it's just some of the profit I'm holding onto as xrp.

The crypto exchanges are faking trades to pump up the prices and get suckers to buy in.

Would you buy any other unregulated high risk product with your money?

This has been the case since a majority of new coins entered the market. You can use it to your advantage if you are smart.

OP, welcome to OzBargain and congrats on your first post. Does your question about Cryptocurrency have anything to do with the recent elections in the Ukraine?

Anyway, my recommendation is to buy when price is low and sell when it is high.

    What are your thoughts?

  • Definitely a good time to buy. Don't bother researching for yourself, just borrow as much as you can and become a rich and clever guy

  • IMO it is a good time. but once again do not put all your eggs in one basket and only invest what you can afford to loose.
