Cheap VPS Hosting

hi guys.

i am looking for cheap vps hosting to host my node js code. i have it on aws atm but its not really good, aws vps freezes every 2-3 days and i have to reboot it which means i have to restart my script as well. Would appreciate any recommendations specially for something hosted in Australia. Not looking to spend a lot btw. Thanks,

    I use Vultr, only $5USD a month for 25GB SSD, 1GB of RAM & 1CPU. Works great for web apps and has servers in Australia.

    Binary line is good, and its good enough to house ozbargain, last time I checked.

      Good provider, would not recommend the $4 plan though. Going to exhaust 768MB quickly.

        I disagree, 768mb is still fine for a lot of things. For a Node script it should be plenty. Debian minimal only uses around 100MB of RAM.

    its a node js script,i dont want anything else. Something that keeps it running within 5-6 $ will be ok for me. Has anyone heard of ovh , https://www.ovh.com.au/public-cloud/instances/ ??

      Haven't used them before but the S1-2 sounds like good value. 10GB SSD is small but if just for Node JS shouldn't be an issue

      OVH are one of the largest hosts in the world. Can't comment on their cloud vps but their dedicated servers are awesome and hosted in their own datacentres FWIW.

      I don't have their VPS but has one dedicated box with OVH AU — quite a solid performer.

      LowEndBox is a terrible website nowadays. Most of what they post are pump and dump offers from companies reselling servers from LowEndBox's parent company.

        It has always been full of serial scammers, or 15yo "CEOs" running the entire operation from the garage — before or after ColoCrossing's acquisition. I guess it just feels worse now as a supposely independent community platform is actually owned by a provider who notoriously profits from pump and dump resellers.

    Vultr, RansomIT or BinaryLane. OVH are decent but their storage speed is lackluster in my experience, and their bandwidth pricing on their sandbox plans is whack.

    Looking at their basic plans i.e. Vultr, quantam core and Binary lane. It looks like quantam core offers more value for money. With discount code for 12 months , its cheapest at same time provides most storage out of 3 , 30 GB and most RAM i.e. 1 GB.

    Will wait for couple of more hours to see if anyone else has more suggestions.

    You may be missing something in AWS config, I’d look into that rather than changing provider.

      Its a standard free tier EC2 , running 2 discord bots. Sometime i will have a chrome and firefox window open but dont know what exactly causes this but entire VPS crashes as in freezes and i can not click anything or kill a task , then i have no option but to reboot it from aws console.

    I'm looking for an Australian based with good networking to run VPN with channel bonding with average performance requirement but higher network throughput.

    Are there any that are included in the OzBargain referral system? It's hard to tell which one's are VPS provider's except a one I know by name.
