I hold out for this sale every year. Yesssss! Will be interesting to see if and how Amazon price match.

      Thanks for this, Captain Obvious.

No idea what we would have done without that last bit of info.

    • Oh, and $85-$48 = $37

      Not $25

      • Sorry my mistake, I meant to state that the price before the 20% off discount was $59.95 thus making the discounted price $48.

    {insert "GET OUT" meme here}

Ooops… this post was meant for a reply to previous post :(

For those commenting about waiting to see if Amazon decreases their prices by 50% - last year they held the exact same sale (buy 1 get 1 free for Blu-Rays and 4K UHDs) at the same time as JB Hi-Fi.
It’s possible they’ll do the same thing this year.

Anybody know what is up with their new release pricing?
I see some new release Bly Ray for $24, some at $29 and some at $36.

The transition from Bluray collection to 4K is crazy expensive. Just crazy to think that they might come out with a 8K remaster disc that has vr support….

  • How does JB pack their bulkier blu ray items like limited editions for their eparcel shippping method for $1.70?
Im assuming in a box? For games or normal blu rays I usually get just an envelope with no padding or anything inside

    • My recent order of 2 Blu-rays using eParcel came in a box, not an envelope.

  • My body is ready

  • Does anyone (In the Melbourne CBD area) wanna go grab a Marvel Studios: Cinematic Universe - Phase 3 Part 1 Blue Ray boxset with me? RRP $119 so $59.50 each. PM me!

JBHIFI has gone Chinese tactics Buy 1 get 1 free

(background but we are going to increase the Retail price and make sure …no customer will ever notice)

Let's hope the JB staff will leave a few old stickers and I will get them to meet and match.

honestly, it's a dumb and sleazy tactic that will not work on the modern age consumer which has so much information at their fingertips

  • Surprised the ACCC hasn't cracked down on this bullshit

  • Dragon Ball Z boxset collection jacked up from $300 to $375.

  • Does this include box sets ???

    • yes it does any box set or single disc is included so theoretically you could by the James Bond Blu Ray box set twice and sell one and recoup the cost you spent on buying the films.

      • +3

Trying to recoup costs on movies = bad idea

As usual the deal is already online after 5pm on the 15th May aka Wednesday night.

5:05 PM but no BOGOF online yet.
5:25 PM but no BOGOF online yet.

Probably won’t be up until after 5pm WA time when their stores close - which is 7pm for most of us.

      • Yes, it is on now. Thanks for the tip.

    • +1

From memory it started later, but Amazon has better prices anyway

      • Thanks for the tip.

    • It's live now.

Was hoping the Ghibli stuff would remain at their discounted price but has now gone back to RRP ;(
Still a good deal though, hopefully Amazon matches

    • Me too. That sucks.

    • They have but there's less selection

    • This was the sole reason why I was checking at 5pm. Only 3 Anniversary/Limited Editions are available at JB. Amazon has Totoro and Mononoke at $94/$92 BOGOF.

      • Wow, how did I not see that post
Didnt't even know Amazon was doing BOGOF. Cheers

Grabbed Scream - The Complete Collection, Final Destination 5-Film Collection, Beverly Hills Cop 1-3 and Nymphomaniac: Volume 1 & 2 for $45 delivered. Cheers OP!

  • Can 4K Blurays be played in 1080p Bluray player like a PS4? Obviously not in 4K, but does the system downgrade the 4K image to 1080p?

    • +1

Nope, has to be a 4K player.

    • They use different blu-ray discs that can't be read by a conventional blu-ray player. The best option is to buy a cheap XB1S when it's on sale for like $200-250.

  • Any more extra discount code from like newsletter?

  • +2

For movies, only the Disney owned titles are really worth getting since they put a premium price on their titles.
Everything else will work out cheaper in a B2G1F and even less with a 20% off to go with it.

    • Not just that…. They don't come with bluray for most of their 4k selection.

Thank you to everyone who actually buys media. Keeps it free for me :)

    Hey guys, big heads up.
I just used the $10 voucher I got from JB and it applied after the deal, so:
Bought 2 Blu rays for $30, discount applied after deal so $20 for 2 Blu rays.

Link to how to claim voucher: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/418428

    Enjoy!!!

Staff was kind enough and sent me another digital receipt to claim another $10 voucher!

    • That deal stopped last year, unless its back again?

      • It's definitely ongoing

  • Just checked Captain American 4k today and just realized that it didn't mention blu-ray, so no blu-ray included? Don't have 4K yet.

  • Thanks. I bought two of the Harry Potter 4k boxed sets, 80 per set for 8 4k movies and 8 blurays, bargain
