Groupon Not Publishing Bad Reviews With Low Ratings

Bought a voucher for a meal during the shopback and groupon sale. Went and didnt have a good experience at the restaurant.

Got an email from groupon asking to rate and share experience. Gave an honest rating and review. Never saw it published, checked a few hours later and only 4 to 5 star ratings with positive comments were published.

Beware the fake "reviews" & ratings for services and restaurants on their website.

  • i did the same, on the ad when you click on the review you will see the 1,2 or 3 stars review but if you click on view all you wouldnt find anything less than 3 stars.

i would say if the restaurant has less than 4 stars it should an alarm bell.

    • Doesnt matter anyway because those reviews and ratings are false and not a true representation of the quality you would expect to receive.

Kind of like a capsule toy, never know what you're gonna get…

      • i believe so. But i think they publish all review as I have left bad review and got reply by the rude owner.

  • Wow someone should contact today's tonight or current affairs and report this. Shame on Groupon

    • +5

The mistake you're making is trusting anything published on the same site that is selling the item period.

      • Ew, who wants to buy periods.

  • what restaurant did you go to? What were you thoughts on it?

    • In Melbourne, average food and not pleasant experience with server.

  • LOL of course they do, their customer is the restaurant. Always check Zomato rating first.

  • Gearbest do the same. If you review an item and give it anything other than 4 or 5 stars they send you an email asking if you want to start a dispute or return.

It doesn't matter if you engage , decline or ignore, your review doesn't get posted.

  • Call out the restaurant here!

  • That's why always check on sites like Google or TripAdvisor which is not trying to get you to visit that particular restaurant

  • They used to use TripAdvisor or urbanspoon ratings on their website. Now they use their own internal review and rating system. Hahaha, i wonder why…
