Looking to Buy a Large Screen TV, Any Recommendation

Looking for a great large screen TV to chuck in the living room:

I have narrowed it down to these 4 due to the 20% sale from Appliance Central:

1. Samsung 75 Inch Series 7 RU7100 4K TV

2. Samsung 82 inch Series 8 Premium 4K

3. Samsung 82 Series 6 Q60 QLED 4K TV

Would love any recommendations, experiences from other brands or even great tips in buying larger TV's!

maybe change each link to : "[" TV Name + price delivered "]""("link")"

  • If you can, buy an LCD TV that has local dimming. If you’re not sure about LCD tech I’d suggest having a read through the CNET & the Rtings primers that talk about how things work, it will help you in deciding which model is likely to suit you best.

Have you considered a projector? I use a 1080p projector for movies, gaming, sports etc and it's a phenomenal experience and affordable to boot. There are some considerations for room size, ambient lighting etc but it's all manageable.

For the budget you're looking at you could definitely get a 4K Projector capable of a 100"+ projection from about 3m eg. BenQ W2700 or W5700

    • thank you for your comment, i was initially thinking of going for a projector, but thought it would be too much of a hassle, by any chance do you have any tips or sites good for research, i will look into the models that you have sent :) thanks

      • I think it depends what you use your TV for, if you are a casual watcher at all times of day and just have it on all the time then perhaps a projector isn't ideal albeit still manageable. If you want a really nice home theatre/big screen experience, projectors are where it's at.

Honestly just check out the Epson range and the BenQ range. The new BenQ W2700 is getting good reviews as a budget 4K projector and the W5700 should be a really good thing but has the price to match.

Measure your room and your walls and muck around with their respective projector throw calculators to get a feel for possible size in your space.

Sites such as AVForums and Stereo.net.au will cover heaps of information. The only frustrating thing is the difference in model numbers for the same product depending on country!

        • Thanks a heap, appreciate it!
I have actually planned a room in our house for a projector purpose but have been searching for the right projector, I will look into those forums and have a much around with the dimensions and see how it goes. cheers.
