    If I have 4 months of XBL Gold, 2 months of Xbox Gamepass, and then buy the $1 PC 1month Gamepass, and then the $1 Ultimate 1month Gamepass will that convert to 4+2+1+1=8 months Ultimate? Or does the PC GamePass not count?

    With the 36 month limit, is this just for the price matching?

    I am at E3 and am lucky enough to have received a 12 month ultimate code.

    I've currently got 1.5 yrs game pass.

    Should I buy 1.5 years gold, buy this $1 deal, then redeem my free code for a total of 4 years? Or will it block me from redeeming my code because it's past the 3 year limit?

    EDIT: my free code email in fine print says 36 months is the largest amount of time possible. I'll buy 6 months gold, then redeem my code

    I grabbed 2 years worth and cannot redeem it, I was told they are region locked (Which seems untrue) but even when I change to UK, I still get a region mismatch error. For those who struggled to redeem theirs originally, how did you end up getting them to work?

      I couldn't redeem the codes (region mismatch error) via browser but the codes worked fine using the xbox iOS app >> microsoft store. Microsoft chat were useless so I still don't know why the normal website is processing things differently

    Feckin' spewin' that I didn't stock up a year or two of Gold before activating this deal.

    I'm signed up to the end of February with Ultimate now, but I would have bought my way to the full 36 months allowed happily. Hopefully there's some great deals like this when the Xbox 2 comes out.

    For anyone still looking for a kind of discount, I found the auto-renew bonus is still kind of a thing if redeeming a code. I just bought a 1 month code for XBL Gold on the official MS site for $10.95, made sure my auto-renew was disabled then enabled it again when redeeming that code for a 14-day bonus.

    Should be repeatable, but I haven't tested it yet.

    I've read differing opinions in the three pages of comments here so thought I would ask the question - what will I lose if I cancel ultimate now, stock up on gamepass codes for cheap and then convert it back to Ultimate? My current Ultimate subscription expires in 12 months so June of next year as I had 12 months of Gamepass before converting it over to Ultimate. So if I cancel Ultimate now, will I lose my 12 months of Gamepass subscription as well?

      You run that risk if by waiting for the sale Microsoft may suspend this current conversion promotion.
      As much as I'd love to save $$$, The pros of doing it now outweighed the possible risk of the promotion not lasting till then.

      I contacted Xbox Support about when this promotion is going to end.
      This is how it went:

      Me: "I have a question about the $1 promotion that is currently going on for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. When is this promotion ending?"

      Support: "This promotion is a one time promotion for all the customers. So as long as you've never benifited from this promotion, you'll always be eligible to get it :)"

      Me: "So I can get it for $1 at any time? Like if I join it next month (for example), I will still get it for $1?"

    I might advise against instant-gaming.com.
    I had to provide documentation for verification and despite it being as they needed it, they have marked order as pending refund.
    Wonder how long that is going to take.
    Guess I am better off buying from cdkeys or Microsoft itself.

        1st purchase instantly displayed the code.
        2nd purchase went to pending verification (after CC was taken), I sent an obscured photo of license (only showing my name) - 2hr later it was confirmed and I've applied code successfully.

        I was dubious - but saved $17 compared to using MS or JB.

    Had gold until April 2021. Regretting not taking up that extra year. Probably keep an eye out for 12 months of game pass cheap to add to it (which may be difficult to find); assuming it converts to ~8months of ultimate ($60/8 = $7.50/month).

    Thanks! Grabbed a 12 months xbox gold subscription off cdkeys (probably should have waited for the BigW sale for $60 in 9 days, I doubt they'll cut the deal before then but I'm not feeling particularly risky today). They gave me the old "subscribe for recurring and get an extra month" so I did that and got 13 months of gold. Then I thought I could do the cheeky extra month with getting a game pass subscription as well, so I got 3 months of the game pass off cdkeys as well. Didn't end up working, probably since I already had another month left of game pass on my account.

    All in all, I'm covered until the 24th of December 2020 for $109.38 (not accounting for what I paid previously to have the 1 month game pass time I had already, I believe I got a good 6 month deal, can't remember exactly though). Could have been $94.88 if I waited for the BigW deal. Either way extremely happy as I had just picked up the game pass PC for $1 deal yesterday as I have been itching to play the new metro exodus (great game so far). So having both my PC and xbox covered with game pass and gold until Christmas (eve) of next year is awesome!

    I have been on the monthly xbox live subscription direct debiting me each month, I just redeemed all my Microsoft Rewards points to activate 2 months of gamepass and then went over to cdkeys.com and bought 2x 1yr xbox live cards.

    Activated the two gamepass codes from Microsoft Rewards without issue and enabled auto renewal for a bonus so I currently have on my account 1 month of Xbox Live & 3 months of gamepass.

    Trying to activate the 2 codes I bought from cdkeys results in this message:

    Change your Microsoft Store region
    You currently have a subscription from a different region. If it still doesn't work, please contact customer support.

        That message was on mine too but I redeemed two 12 month codes from cdkeys directly on the windows 10 store app and it happily stacked them.

        Turn off automatic renewal, activate 12mo card and receive 13 months for activating auto renewal.

        Turn off automatic renewal again, activate second code, receive 13 months for activating auto renewal.

        Turn off auto renewal again and you've got 26 months on your account. Activate game pass ultimate 1 month for $1 and activate auto renewal to receive an extra month. 28 months total. Cancel auto renewal.

    Had a couple of orders suspended, while I did try and cancel them, they cleared them and sent me the keys.

    I am registered up to 22/04/2022 now, and dont see the value is burning a 3 month key for 50days (doesn't work out great value)
    Happy to paypal for peace of mind. Otherwise might just churn them, just don't want to keep them for years as I don't know if they will re-issue them at some point.

        What @theguyrules said, also confirmed with MS support chat that they have no idea how long this deal is running for. If you follow steps 1-9 by ZackyD above you get a couple of extra months free which softens the blow. If you have Gold and signed up for 3 months of Game Pass for $1, your total sub duration for Ultimate is the stacked duration of Gold + Pass! Amazing deal. As some of the other posters pointed out, this is likely to be an E3 deal.
