  • Used by countless Chinese language learners worldwide

Google doesn't tell them how many users downloaded the app?

    • +2

Not everyone that downloads it uses it.An example of those that download but don't use are all the people in this thread downloading it just because it's free.

    Thank you

  • So this is level 5.

I guess it's free because nobody actually reaches that level via the app? Or do they?

    • Estimates are around 2200 hours to learn fluent Chinese. French/German/Spanish etc about 700. I admire the commitment.

You need to know about 2000 characters to be able to read and understand Chinese. This is what I was told. Then when characters are put together in different order there are again multiple different meanings.

Speaking is yet another thing with the tones :P

While working in Guangzhou for 15 years I managed to self study and remember about 800 characters. Nowadays I can barely get by alone when visit there. But still admire those friends who had the chance really study the language in a local Uni and make me sound like a babbling baby in comparison :D

But with this app I'm going to pick up where I left off :P

May as well add a seventh language to my repertoire. I'm already tri-lingual but have been studying French, Dutch and Japanese. With Uni, my language studies hobby has taken a back seat, though.

  • Too bad i don't have any android devices :(

You can try an android emulator such as Memu, Bluestacks etc. on your PC.

    is there an iOS version?

    Damnit this isn't Guitar Hero

  • I wonder how many people are tempted just for Xiaomi products…

  • Unfortunately Chinese is mainly a rote language, not as much vowels/consonants as such.

  • Comes with free '' freedom software'' so China knows that you are safe and not doing something dangerous and illegal
