From my experience of older LiFX models and Hue, I recommend Hue if you're starting out. If you're committed to LiFX, I hope this is a good deal for you 😀

This pack is probably all you need to start with LiFX. You will also need good solid WiFi and a smartphone.

  Can anyone comment on the reliability of this LiFX model's responsiveness?

  I've had two older models fail in about 2 years (1 warrantied) and the remaining 2 I have can drop off the network occasionally.

    I cant speak for the newer models but all 5 of my LIFX have never missed a beat, and these were the 1st generation ones

  I’ve had one of the 1st gens fail and I’m not sure LIFX are going to stay competitive with the increasing cheaper bulbs, like the Mirabella and Xiaomi ones. I guess time will tell. I certainly didn’t get the 23 years worth out of my LIFX.

  I had a first gen fail, LIFX dont comply with Australian consumer law and refused to support their product for a reasonable time frame. Gave me a standard form response about a 2 year warranty then ignored all further correspondence.

  Wouldn't buy a LIFX product ever again. i.e. Premium prices for average lights and poor support.

  I have the recent a19's and from time to time a few of them (randomly) will not turn on with my schedule set in HomeKit. One particular bulb always shows as off in HomeKit when it is on, but in LIFX app is on??? Could be the ORBI router and the 2.4GHz network causing this?

  Overall the LIFX bulbs have been satisfying and much prefer the LIFX app to the Phillips HUE app in terms of control and colour selection.
