  I wish Samsung didn’t pull out of the Blu-Ray player market. The remote control on the Panasonic is straight from the early 2000’s. The Samsung remote (on the m8500/9500) is a work of art.

    Especially when you accidentally press the Netflix button while watching a bluray. If you have a recent Panasonic TV you can control the player from that.

      Yep, big time. Even my Blu-rays are better quality than what I get with streaming. Don't have a 4k player yet, but that would be awesome.

        Yeah, even 1080p blurays have much higher bitrate than 4k streaming. Also don't have to worry about compression artifacts, noise, banding etc that you can get from streaming.

        Definitely still a place for physical media provided you have the setup for it. (audio wise too)

          @bert-lifts: It's just so much physical space to occupy and with having to change discs, to me, hearkens back to how we used to have to rewind VHS tapes.

          Side note: my nan used to rewind her DVDs back to the start, bless her.

    I had to cancel my Netflix subscription because my internet is not fast enough to watch it.
    I live in Sydney metro, yet my ADSL sync speed is 1.5MBps.
    The NBN was supposed to be here in 2018, then it got pushed out to 2019, now it’s been moved back to July 2020.

    Today you did indeed learn that the internet is so bad in this country, that there is people unable to stream movies, and living in a blue ribbon Liberal suburb means there is no incentive to fix the problem.

    Sadly, my Federal member is Paul Fletcher, who was the Communications Minister who along with Turnbull and Abbott, killed off the FTTP NBN plans.
