      • You're doing it wrong. You need both items in your cart.

        • Yep, they are. I selected the checkbox for the echo dot before adding the ring. Still $229??

          • @ih8un: Did you go all the way to the checkout? It should show up after confirming delivery address.

            • +2

@doweyy: I figured it out, I needed to add the Echo dot from the actual listing of the Echo. I was selecting the checkbox that adds it for free on the Ring 2 listing. Showing as $189 now!

              • @ih8un: Thanks for that, have chucked it in the OP for clarity.

          • @ih8un: Add the echo dot separately after the ring2

            • @ATD: Thanks, I can confirm that's the way it eventually worked.

          • @ih8un: I just did it, and still getting $189. But I added the dot manually, and it's the Charcoal color. Might make the difference.

      • Just got it at $189.. Already have a free Google Home mini from the Google 1 deal, and now a spare echo dot. Good gift material I suppose.

        • Just cancelled my $229 order and got the $189 deal. Had to call up to cancel. Thanks everyone for the extra saving

        • +2

Getting it at $268. I think the free echo dot 3rd gen has been removed.
Comes out to be $308 if I check the free echo dot check box.

Just noticed the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery version is also deal of the day for @229 with bonus echo dot 2.

  • Echo dot is real cheap!

  • Is the Ring Doorbell the best of its kind?

    • Battery powered doorbell? Yes.

Wired doorbell model? Maybe not. Nest, August and Skybell provide stiff competition.

    • Yes, and no. There is not non subscription version that allows locally stored video. So you'll need to pay 30 or 100 US per year for the cloud service. There are others that allow local storage via a card.

  • +3

Looks like echo dot is no longer part of the deal? I'm getting $268 now..

  • What are the advantages of having a kindle vs just using your phone?

    • Screen size, e-ink is the main one.

    • +4

The screen is like reading paper. Much easier on the eyes, less reflective. Great battery life.

    • In addition to e-ink and frontlighting (easier on the eyes than backlighting) you also have no distractions from other apps and functions.

FireTV Stick only US$15? How does that translate to AU$49?

    • Aussie taxes

      • It is still not equal to "convert US$15 to AUD and add 10%" :-(

    • And there's gets Alexa remote…! And I believe works with Alexa.

      • But that's also the $15 mentioned in that article.

    • I was hoping for the FireTV Stick 4K to be released here for Prime day

  • +1

Are Amazon ever going to release the Fire HD tablet in Australia?

  • The Free Echo dot Deal is gone. No more free Echo dot 3rd gen along with Ring purchases :(
Contacted the Amazon sales assistance, but no dice :(

  • +1

Price matched the Echo Plus (2nd gen) + Philips Light Bulb deal at my local JB Hi-Fi and used $15 voucher from e-receipt offer to bring price under $100. Used my JB Gift Card ($500 GC from Telstra plan deal) to pay it off. Winning!

  • For the life of me, I cannot add the echo dot gen3 at all. Tried different ways and is not working.

  • $49 for echo plus gen1, is it worth paying the extra for gen 2?
Will be an upgrade from echo dot gen2 that I am using to control yeelight.
Any one have the xiaomi smart devices and echo device to help me answer this: Does the built in hub that the echo plus has (in both gen 1 and 2), does it recognise xiaomi zigbee plug to control it?
I have a few of those and zigbee:awards temperature sensor but they can only pair with the xiaomi gateway for them to be usable and Alexa did not recognise xioami gateway hence cannot use setup automation with the echo dot

  • Does audible work at all? For this Kindle

  • Do any of the Fire products have a USB input? Trying to figure out how to watch files from a portable hdd on my mum's old TV.

  • Fire Stick or Vodafone Tv box.. Voda is 4K ?

  • Are PDFs like this one readable on current Kindles? On my ancient one I always seemed to end up having to scroll all over the place to read a single page because of the multi-column layout.

  • I have $25 amazon credit that I can use on anything sold by amazon and fulfilled by amazon. So essentially I can only buy amazon devices (can’t find anything else). Should I get the first gen echo plus or the 3rd gen echo dot? I want to use all my credit since $10 expires tomorrow.

There is only a $10 difference between the two but not sure if it is worth getting the older generation echo plus over the newer generation echo dot.

Kindle PW's been matched at officeworks now.

    • Free delivery too? I'm guessing someone from officeworks monitoring ozbargain

But seriously if Amazon didn't come in to lift up the game no one will bother price match.

I'm still buying from Amazon because they had the willingness to offer decent price at the first place

  • Thanks bought a Kindle pw. Lets see if any good. I will be using it for studies

You can pick up the Kindle Paperwhite Waterproof eReader 32GB WiFi from Officeworks for $189.00. In store the price is around $249, so I ordered it online and picked it up a couple of hours later! :-)

    • Price has now reverted back to $249. :-(
