how do you use those points? do you tell the restaurant when paying that I would like to use those points?

    • +1

There’s a part in your account where you redeem the points via a booking so the restaurant’s notified that you get $20 off

    • Yes when you pay, you must tell the restaurant that you’re supposed to have $20 off, otherwise they won’t know.

I didn’t know when I redeemed the points, and the restaurant charged me full price. Lucky TheFork gave me back the points.

        Omg I’m an idiot… I booked for August 3rd 🤦🏽‍♀️

      • I updated the booking but confirmed first with customer service this was OK since I couldn't put in the TENMORE code again. If anyone else rings customer service could you get email confirmation of this? I forgot to.

Is this only valid for restaurants that are part of "TheFork Festival – 50% off food offer"?

    • I clicked on the link from the email and booked the 50% offer, thentried to enter the Promo Code.
Thought I read one of the T&C that said they wont take 2 Promotions in one seating.
      Cant be bothered checking now…

    It's over 9000!

  • So it's for the next booking you do not the booking you will make to receive these points?

    • Yes. "Points will be credited after the promotion has ended and within 30 days"

  • Most restaurants is expensive so $20 is not worth much. You end up paying 4 or 5 times more for food and drinks.

    • You are getting $20 worth of points on top of 50% offer.

  • What's with the places offering 50% of food?

    • The July/early Aug offer.

      • No I mean, what's the catch? Why are restaurants just offering 50% off food?

        • +1

The point is to introduce new people to your restaurant. Some of these places are in an out of the way street that people don't walk past much. Or in a crowded place with too many other restaurants to choose from and they want to stand out.

They can get your contact details from thefork to send their future promos to.

A large cost with running these places is the staff. They may have a period when there's not much going on and the staff are only half working.

The eatclub app has a similar purpose.

As a previous person mentioned, a lot of these places are on the expensive side and have a high margin so even at 50% off it's still profitable.

Anyone received the bonus point yet?

    • I'm still waiting….

    • I'm still waiting but it does say in t&c above:

      • Points will be credited after the promotion has ended and within 30 days.

I went on Wed 31st July so it won't be till around the 29th August that I have to contact CSR.

      Thanks for reminding me though.
