Hi i booked a qantas flight (qantas and emerates) and have the booking reference.
The flight is not untill the end of this year. How do i add my qantas member number to the flight so i can get the points for it? I didnt put it in when booking cos it was through skyscanner then webjet.

You could also do it when you check in, and even after the flight has been taken. No rush!

You have to line up at the special frequent flyer desk next to the gate as you board. When you get to the front of the queue, you have to sing "I still call Australia home" whilst holding your hand luggage over your head. If the Qantas dragon on the gate thinks it was good enough, they award your frequent flyer points.
This is true. But keep in mind you will then be marked as receiving your quota of attention for the flight. Don't even think about asking for an extra drink at meal time, or pressing that call button.
if you have your qantas booking number you can manage it through qantas's website/app. you won't get the points till several weeks after you've flown with them.
If it's with Qantas you can text them your request to +61477726827. It's like a live chat but by text. They are usually quick to respond.
