Considering this torch for the car glove box.

    And something that runs on an 18650.
    Most of these that use 3xAAA aren't that bright or don't last very long

      Depends on your needs. Cheap Li-ion batteries are a fire risk when charging. I'd also be concerned about their behaviour when left in a car glove box on a hot day.

      AA & AAA batteries aren't as powerful but for simplicity and safety can be a better choice.

  I have had a few from this brand. Absolute garbage. Half the LEDs don't work. They break the second you need to change the batteries. Not work it at all.

    i made the mistake of buying a cheapo $7 torch similar in style.
    the battery contact coil started rusting itself months later. batteries didn't even leak.

    i use a maglite xl50 now; if i'm buying a cheap torch, i'm definitely not paying a $13 premium for sub-par quality

  Anything running on AAA batteries is rubbish. This is just a rebranded $2 torch that you can find on DX or similar sites.

    many maglites run on AAA batteries and they aren't rubbish.
    a little underpowered, yes, but reliable and durable.

  for the glove box better off getting one of the $3 zoomable cree lights off ebay that take a single AA and getting a 4 pack of rechargeables from ikea
