OMG. After 2 hours of DDOSing. Made it!

  • Ditto got a pair. Originally had two in black and honey but the latter ran out!

Edit: looks like the Colorado is gone from the online store.

  • :( thought I’d get the black instead but now that one is also sold out. Site is now working perfectly fine

  • ozbargained to the max, the boots not avail no more.

What a complete waste of 90 mins had the boots in cart and spent the rest of the time trying to checkout…now out of stock….grrrrrrrrrrr

    • -3

To those of you who negged - your negative votes do not change the fact that their cart system is inadequate.
If you read the comments, MANY other people had the same issue. I guess your negging shoes you find the fact that people have things in their cart and then cannot check out because items go out of stock acceptable and great when clearly with a small update the system could be improved greatly as some other retailers have shown where items are reserved for 10 or 15 minutes to allow you to check out.

I didn't neg you but still don't agree with you. I don't expect commerce sites to have a reserve timer especially on a sale where they are trying to get rid of reduced price stock. First come, first serve is a pretty common and accepted practise. Having said that, servers can only handle so much and arguably had I not posted this here with 10,000 clicks, it would have worked just fine as per normal without any errors. I mean, even Amazon falters on prime day sales. I think it's time to move on to the next bargain.

I do not expect them to do this for sales but in general as it happens other times too.
Not having an item reserved makes things a lottery and those people who cannot type fast, are not close to a node and have slower internet etc. are disadvantaged.
Plus, if it is all about getting rid of stock I know plenty of charities they can contact who will buy the whole batch at once to give out to their needy clients.
I am annoyed at both missing out on shoes but even more so at the time these companies make waste everybody involved - if you waste someone's time to me it means you disrespect the person totally and do not value them at all.

The other great system companies still have in Australia and won't fix (because people just let them get away with it - I might mention I got my items from the below Good Guy sale after elaborating with their managers on the contractual situation and the value and consequences of a precedent but most people just accepted the refund and let them get away with it) is the Good Guys sale system - there is a game sale post on here which shows this in a legendary manner:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66808

Have an online sale, let you check out and pay and then send an e-mail to the client's nearest store to get the item of the shelf (the sale of course is also on in store) when the salesperson finds out everything is gone.
No limit online which means 1000 people could have purchased an item that was only available 10 times before any sale and now online and in-store compete for the same item.
Apart from the refund hassle, missing out on other sales, wasted time, waiting for money to return etc. this is just bad customer service.

While Amazon might falter, Amazon is also the first company to make good on their errors and mistakes - something that most (in my professisonal experience, unfortunately ALL big Australian companies) fail to do so - instead they only comply when it is five to twelve for them (in the compulsory mediation before a trial which could result in a precedent for them).

You can’t please everyone OP. I however am grateful for your posting - sure it took me over 2 hours of retrying to get mine. All those CloudFlare 502 errors were surely likely due to the excessive OzBargain traffic that wasn't anticipated by the team which provisioned their servers. Bless them, and bless you OP.

  • I got there in the end. What a nightmare that was!

  • finally got one.

  • Made it!

  • Thanks OP!!!. Took me 3 hours to make an order successfully.

  • Black size 9 still available. Would buy but already have a pair of the yellow ones.

I contacted support after trying to order this in frustration until it became out of stock. They came back to me a few days ago and said as it was out of stock, they couldn't do anything. After I saw an update on this saying there was stock again, I replied to the original email and the customer service rep said I can buy it for the current price and he'll refund me the difference to make it 51.99. best part is it's free shipping over $99, so Kudos to Caterpillar! (I haven't actually received my refund yet, but I guess anyone could try it if you missed the deal)

  • Anyone wants to swap with size 10. I've ended up ordering size 10 I needed size 9. Central to West melb. My shoe black doesn't really matter what color I get
