      • I talking about the deal showing on the deals page. For me and it seems many others the banner/ad/link/whatever you want to call it didn't show up until after it was sold out. Obviously others had it show up straight away. Wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why this may be happening.

          cos their site is shit

          ain't that obvious?

  • +7

This will be the listing for the headphones. Same seller that did the $99 Airpods deal and the pricing matches the eBay "was" price. ie. $275.

Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones - Triple Black

    • This could be it. It's not even letting me add to cart.

Edit: out of stock now too.

    • Yep confirmed. Went in stock briefly and out of stock again about 5 minutes ago.

Good luck all. Knowing my luck I'll miss out again.

2 blacks were sold few minutes later…

    • Which doesn't make much sense. I eventually got on the product page at 1202 and there was nothing left….completely SOLD OUT!!!

    • probably some people who cancelled their order…

  • -4

Honestly google home hub probably only worth $20. :)

    • +1

Good thing that's all I paid then ;)

  • +2

    Not worth the stress…

  • +1

Wasted so much time at work. Had been refreshing since 2 minutes before 12.00pm. Good on who were able to grab one.

    • +4

At least you were getting paid for it :)

      • Not really. I now have to stay back tonight to finish up my work.

    • Expect HR to get in touch with you soon after IT team reports the spike in internet traffic from your computer

      • haha

    • Only wasted 2 mins then?

  • Great bargain - thanks eBay for hub.

  • impossible cop

  • Is this the same Google Home Hub that's $138 at HN?

  • i had it added to my cart, code entered but then by time i signed into paypal there was an error and items were no longer available :(

    • +2

pro tip: pay with credit card and not paypal

  • +7
    • This might be it :o

  • A few email replies later, Google Home Hub is out of stock!

  • +2

What a waste of time! 20% off sitewide or even 15% sitewide would have been worth of Ebay's 20'th birthday. Well, won't be using Ebay Shit Plus anymore.

  • Impossible to get :-(

  • +12

I neglected my kids all morning for this?!

    • +3

you can go for the nerf later to make yourself feel better :)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/20birthdaydeals?_trkparms=%26clk…

Lego 75956 Harry Potter Quidditch Match SOLD OUT
    200

That misleading they have sold 31 .

  • Is the best way to go about it, to put it in your cart, wait for the hour and then apply the code and buy? Or will it need me to wait until the hour before I put something in my cart?

    • the very best way is to apply code beforehand

    • That will work, provided you have the correct product from the right seller in your cart.

    • Earlier ones yes, but they were sneaky with the Home Hub. Made the original listing out of stock, then added a new secret listing.

    • The thing is, we cannot be entirely sure which seller is going to list them. So its a game of calculated (somewhat - we never know what ebay is going to pull on next) guessing.

    • In my experience, that didn't work.

After correctly guessing the Hub from Allphones, it disappeared from my cart a couple of minutes before the hour.

Had to go back to product page and refresh until item went from out of stock to available again.

Bianca Reid 550GSM 100% Turkish Cotton Towel Sets | 7pc | Super Soft

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bianca-Reid-550GSM-100-Turkish-C…

    Code: Ptowel20
    This code isn’t ready yet.

    • So is this definitely the listing for it? Who knows maybe ill have a chance with some towels 😂

    • +2

don't need the towels but might use this to practice for Bose later

    • Well done, it was the correct listing - can't believe how quickly it's selling!

      Edit: Goneski!

  • +3

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bose-SoundSport-Free-Wireless-In…

this is possibly the bose listing, the same seller for the previous Airpods sales

  • +2

These deals are practically exclusive to OzBargain users. I mean there is just no way ‘normal’ people will even have a remote chance of even discovering this sort of stuff. I’m mad but I’m not mad.

  • +1

    useless

    Bose Headphones code PBOSE20

  • +18

This is an absolutely terrible way of "celebrating" their birthday. Get people to pay for premium membership then have them scramble like idiots for extremely limited stock. Don't they realise by now that they would make more money doing things the old way. This is doing nothing but p*ssing people off and pushing them towards their competitors.

They really neglect loyal longtime users nowadays. What an emotionally abusive relationship, ebay.

    • +1

I'm in the same relationship, yet I can't seem to break up with them.

    • +3

I think what they should have done is simply given all eBay plus members are $20 gift voucher. Then did a 20% select stores.

    • wasn't that their point ? show some lucky winners and thousands more sour losers ? … btw I didn't win so you know ~~ LoL

  • +2

How do you get the eBay page to refresh at the advertised time?

I tried it - hit refresh on the hour, several times!

    BUT…

Display didn't change to show the deal until about 2 minutes past the hour.

  • I don't get the excitement for the hub. On special it goes as low as 115-125. Something different about this hub?

    • +3

      It was $20 …

    • +1

      Yeah, it was $20

    • +1

      It's $20

    • +1

I got it for $99 several weeks ago.

    • $20 makes it exciting

    • Yeah it's $20…

    • $20 is about $100 off. Pretty decent deal

    • it's $20

    • It's $100 less than when it is on special

    • -1

I would never have bought it for anything over $50 - I just don't see the value in in it…. But $20? Bargain. It's going straight to the pool room with the jousting sticks.

    • Its simple maths. 120 minus 100 equals 20. $20 is cheaper than $120.
      So savings = $100.
Ability to recover from the mental torture/competition = cant put a $$ value to that

      • lol wow I really missed that part. I thought it was 20% off .. mega terrible. Cheers everyone haha.

    wassup boys

    • Disappointments

      • +1

        lots of dissappointments

  • Got the hub at 12pm on the dot. Thanks OP!

  • I guess there wont be much rush for the towel…

    • +6

      Reverse psychology, I like.

      • Nobody really wants those Bose earphones…

        …Is it working?

    • or coffee pods lol

    • That depends, does it come with a free Google Home Hub?

  • +1

Where do we find the item except for deal page as its coming up 3 minutes after for me

  • According to the units OP mentioned, Google Home Hub should suppose to have 400 units but 100 units were sold? seems dodgy tactics by ebay.

EDIT: Never mind ebay only shows last 100 transactions.

  • Was still looking at the Hub at 11.56 and it was out of stock by 11.57. Something's wrong with my phone's auto-sync time lol

    • It went out of stock a few minutes prior to sale, but popped up again once code went active.

      • I searched for it until 12.01 and the search result didn't yield anything (item was no longer listed).

Maybe I was just unlucky then.

Of course you know things are desperate when you're relegated to competing for a saucepan!

Ps. "open chefs pan" is a fancy way of saying "lid not included".

  • Just wish I had got the sodastream dammit!

    • +2

The sodastream lasted for about 20 minutes. It was an easy win.

      • Is the the same sodastream as the previous $1 promo?

        • Same model, but in white and 2x 1L Bottle.

      • Thanks for rubbing it in mate.

  • +10

Well done eBay, celebrate its birthday by pissing off everyone.

    • and wasting their time!

  • eBay = new COTD 2.0

    • +1

Also a bit like Click Frenzy…

      • i never tried click frenzy
        but…

This promo is the equivalent of ebay whipping their customers and then rubbing salt into their wounds..

        and eBay saying
"haha, I didn't show you the promo at 12 as agreed by my instructions
but okay now it is 12:02 so I'll show you now and look what you could've bought if only I had shown you the item at 12:00
HAHAHAH now's here some salt for your wound..go and sob about the item you missed out on..
Now you want to try again at next hour.."

  • +1

I feel so wasted today…all day done nothing, just on ozbargain and refreshing ebay.

    • Do it at work. Makes you feel better.

  • +1
